How to unlock the Close Encounter achievement in Crysis - Definitive Guide

This is one annoying battle.
Have gauss (3 shots to take down flying enemies) and minigun (for the same enemies).
Hide behind the ships bridge and sty there no matter what you are yelled at to do. When Hellena commands you to shoot it with the TEC - look from the left side and then the right side (for the second arm). Watch out for fires - they can drain your health very unexpectedly. Also wait for the boss to fire its main caliber and then start aiming with the TEC (it's main cannon is very random at killing you, so better safe then sorry).
When the belly is ready for blasting super sprint from the LEFT side (the right side is on fire) and minigun. After belly opens you get a checkpoint and will you probably die. Restart and super sprint back to your hiding place. Wait for 3 flying enemies and 3 smaller jumping one, kill them, sprint back to main deck and hide behind the burning helicopter on the left - from there you can easily aim and fire at the blasted belly.
Hope this helps.

Okay, this is confusing the hell out of me. When I play the final chapter it skips the whole Repair the Nuclear Reactor part (which is outlined in various PC version walkthroughs) and I have no opportunity to retrieve the TAC gun. It goes straight from leaving the bridge after the nuke goes off, to the admiral somehow being killed in the last room before you exit out onto the flight deck. Even if I change the difficulty to easy, and use the crate of unlimited rocket launchers... I can sit there all day and not even scratch the thing.

It did the same thing to me. i had to restart the whoe chapter all over again. After that it worked fine. Kinda weird how it can just skip a whole section of game like that.

It glitched on me as well. Once you get to bottom of the stairs where admiral dies, make sure you run out onto the deck as soon as possible so that admiral event doesn't take place. If it does take place, restart the level.

I just watched my friend play this level, and it was QUITE annoying. The worst part is this: the instant he finally blew up the boss, he got knocked backwards one tiny step, over the side of the deck... and then the checkpoint saved, while he was in mid-air. Then he was stuck in an endless loop of loading and insta-falling to his death. The only way to get out was to restart the whole level.

Complete "Destroy The Alien Warship" Final mission.

This trophy is story-related and cannot be missed.
You'll get at the end of Chapter 10 after defeating the Alien mothership. What you want to do first is take out the turrets (2 on each side) from cover with a Gauss Rifle (4 shots to each turret destroys them) and then wait for your team in the VTOL to get in close to disable the right side of the ship (in the meantime you fight giant Alien squids which come from the ship). When the right side is disabled (Your team will notify you) switch to the TAC Cannon, lock on (without getting killed) and fire to destroy that side. Same procedure for the left side and the center when it opens up. Be aware of the ships one-shot kill giant blue beam. Always move from cover to cover around the flight deck.
