How to unlock the Alive and Kicking achievement in Cuphead - Definitive Guide

Requires the Delicious Last Course DLC.
Once you start up the game, you’ll be able to travel to Isle IV, the newest area. I was already in Isle III when I got the DLC so could get the boat straight from the shore. If you are yet to start the game, you can access the DLC after finding and beating the first Mausoleum.
Once you arrive and go through the cutscenes, you’ll be able to wander around the new area.
First things first, pull up your equip card and in the Charm slot, equip your new Astral Cookie.
This lets you play as Ms Chalice in a boss battle.
Then you can simply take the boat (found at the docks to the bottom left of where you start on Isle IV) back to Isle I, then battle the Root Pack (or any other boss you fancy) on Simple difficulty. Upon defeating the boss, this will unlock at the score screen.

I beat the root pack on regular difficulty as chalice and this did not pop
Update - beat gone way out in the dlc as chalice on simple difficulty and it still didn't pop.. I even beat them with a super art and didn't get that one either.. Weird
Update 2 - holding down the power button on my xbox to reset, then reloading and completing the requirements again unlocked it. I ended up doing it on inkwell Isle IV but reckon the original Isles would have worked.

Ms. Chalice is the new character of the DLC. She is quite easy to use and you will learn her attacks easily. There is a small tutorial called Recipe where you can learn how to control her.
First of all, remember to always have the Astral Cookie equipped during the DLC in order to play as Ms. Chalice.

- Parry is made easier: simply press
- She has a double jump feature that can help you jumping higher
- By using
+ , she will roll, becoming invincible for a short period - She will always has 4 HP
- You can't equip any relics, as you need the astral cookie.
