How to unlock the Rolling Sixes achievement in Cuphead - Definitive Guide

EDIT: Turns out you just need to have 3 health or higher when you finish, so try to get those hearts in the board game! You CAN get hit during the fight, just don’t go below 3 health. The first 2 tips will still help with getting the level done easier!

This achievement is actually pretty easy. There are some tricks that aren't so obvious at first that help.

Tip 1: Getting any number on the dice
In order to get a certain number, single it out in the rotation on the dice and get the rhythm in your head. When the number comes double tap cn_A to jump and parry almost immediately. You usually want to do this milliseconds before the number comes up. Once you get the timing down you will get it every time.

Tip 2: Choosing your stages
Just choose whatever you're comfortable with. I went from stage 3, to 5, to safe, to 8, to safe, to finish each time as I found that path the easiest.

Tip 3: King Dice
You can parry the same card twice if the next pink card is out of parry range. On normal difficulty I don't believe it is necessary as the pink cards seem to be spaced out well enough, but just in case this helps you then the option is there. The charge shot is the strongest i believe so that may be the best to use. I ran an invincibility super just to cheese one of the card rotations. Ther's also a safe spot behind his hands but this may be hard to consistently enter without getting hit. I recommend instead waiting at the opposite side of his hand each time and at the last moment begin parrying the cards.

This may still take a few tries, but you'll get it eventually. It's not too bad.

This video is not mine, just an example since I don't have a capture device where i am living currently!

Also, you should add in that you must end with the 3 or more health (assuming you aren't using a powerup to give you more health from the start). I got hit twice on the monkey part, but also got two health from rolling lucky and still got the achievement.

I was thinking it also might mean that you can only not get hit when you get to the King Dice part at the end, but we'll need to experiment more.

@Stoic Slab I'm also having problems parrying the pink cards, can sometimes hit one but never two or more. Don't have a problem parrying anything else in the game

I was struggling parrying them too at first but I found using the auto parry charm helped a tonne, as soon as I got that guarenteed first hit I could parry off the others no problem. May be worth a go if your struggling.

So is there some sort of trick that kills the claw machine monkey quickly, or is that a bug?

Its a bug when he goes off screen. i recommend avoiding that fight anyways as if it doesnt kill him thru a bug the fights very long.

So there is a way to glitch king dice to not send out a second row of cards. I had accidentally done it before, but I'm not sure on how to recreate it. Does anyone else know how?

It's honestly really easy to just use smoke dash to get behind his hands. I got the A rank and achievement that way.

Hey huge ratio man laugh, Yeah thats the setup I believe I used. If that "Behind the hand" method is really that consistent and others agree ill go head and add it to the guide

You don't even have to parry to get behind them. I used invincibility to safely parry the first set of cards for the rank requirement and then just dashed behind him before the first card came out for the rest of the attacks.

I don't parry at all. Just use smoke bomb. When King Dice put his hand on the table, just jump next his elbow and dash. You'll be at the corner of the screen, taking no damage.

I just unlocked this after taking 1 hit during the King Dice fight. I had 4 HP at the time, so I finished with 3 HP. Maybe if you have more than 2 HP the achievement will still unlock?

The achievement description is a bit misleading I think. What this seems to entail is that you need to finish the entire Casino with 3/3 hp at the final scoreboard. I did not get the achievement when I beat King Dice without getting hit, while getting hit twice during the #4 boss fight, finishing the Gauntlet with 1/3 heath. I did get the achievement when I managed to accumulate 4 hearts during the gauntlet, getting hit by King Dice once and finishing the Casino with 3/3hp.

Had 6 lives when the King Dice fight started, ended with up with 3 and got the achievement. I wasn't very good and getting behind the hands, what worked for me was repeatedly jumping on the same card, usually the second one, this gave me time to wait out the whole line of cards and then just dashing past the last card.

Can confirm that if you have 3 hearts at the end of the fight, even if he has hurt you (meaning you had 4+ hearts) you can unlock the achievement! it completely baffled me because I was upset I failed and DING!

You can do the 9 hearts trick to get this?

I believe the criteria of this achievement may have changed from just completing it with the number of hearts you start with (or more), to actually not getting hit at all, perhaps with the release of the DLC? I completed this three times with the following criteria: twice with 3 health starting at 3, once with 4 starting at 3 - but in all of them I took at least one hit - and the achievement did not unlock. This was over the course of a couple of days and I did several other bosses in between. I did it a fourth time and achieved a true no-hit run (on all mini-bosses too, not just King Dice), and it unlocked as soon as I exited Inkwell Hell. Possibly a buggy coincidence, but I figured I'd mention it here.

Has anyone else who has unlocked this recently had a similar experience?

Anyone scared by Baalroggo's comment, don't be. I just unlocked it having been hit twice.

I didn’t read this first and was super confused when this unlocked since I took 3 hits. Though, I was at 6 health.

Charge shot. Invincibility. Smoke bomb.

Shoot him with charge shots at every opportunity. Parry the first card in each sequence as soon as it appears (you may have to dash to reach it), then dash past the hand into the safe corner and wait out the cards. Use invincibility in a pinch. Repeat for victory. Definitely the easiest way to do it. You don't even have to parry the first card if you don't want to, but I found it easier to get close enough to dash through the hand by doing it.

For those that just don’t feel like doing all that parrying on King Dice, make sure you have the Chaser Orb as one of your two shots and run to the very edge of the screen behind his hand. If you are facing him, you can jump and hit him with the Chaser and be safe from harm.

Once that hand is done, dash to the other side and repeat.

He will sometimes use the same hand twice in a row, but he usually alternates. I just beat him on Expert like this and I think he didn’t alternate twice in the whole fight.

This trophy might seem scary but it's not that tough. The description is misleading. You actually CAN get hit during the King Dice fight, as long as you finish the fight with at least 3 HP. You can get to this fight with up to 8 HP points so this shouldn't be much of a problem.

The main thing is that by the end of the battle you have at least 3 lives, that is, if you collected extra lives along the way, you can safely spend them.

I confirm that you can receive damage. The main thing is that at the end there are 3 lives.
A method for people like me who are not able to jump over parries on pink cards with 100% accuracy.
It is best to immediately outline the easiest path for yourself and restart for now. life doesn't turn out the way you want. Ideally, you will come to the final boss with 6 lives, 3 of which can be easily drained.
For bosses, you definitely need to go first to field “2” (flying chips), in the second sector at your discretion (I went through the “domino”, field 4. Although the Hatter rabbit is also easy) and 3 third sector, field 8 (Black ball, like I think it's the easiest boss in the game).
In terms of weapons and skills, I took this: Basic weapon and bell. Special attack - invulnerability. Skill - Smoke bomb (to more confidently pass flying chips).
The final boss can be taken out as quickly as possible using the bell (we position ourselves directly under it, jump up and shoot point-blank). On the way to the boss, be sure to save up for a special attack (invulnerability), so you can easily miss one wave of cards. The remaining waves, taking into account the reserve of lives, can be failed a little, the main thing is to concentrate on damage to the boss.

For parrying enemy cards, you get attack cards! You can parry the same enemy card several times! Temporary immortality, easy level (if it’s difficult for you), shoot from the “CAROUSEL” - it seems to me that one such wave will be enough for him.

If you arm yourself with a saber, you can teleport to the king’s hand before he has time to play his cards and wait out the wave there. Then we go to the center, deal damage and do it again. Makes it much easier to pass through.

On PS 4 you just need to get through without taking damage. Tested from my own experience: I finished with 3hp, but received damage - the trophy did not fall.
UPD: next time I came with 5 hearts for the king, lost 1 heart, but they gave me the trophy. In general, the mechanics are not completely clear.
