How to unlock the Relief achievement in Curse of the Dead Gods - Definitive Guide

As the previous guide stated, this achievement pops when you beat a champion while having the Final Curse on your character. For anyone unaware, the Final Curse makes it so your character's HP is reduced to 1, meaning it's Game Over if you get hit. To receive the Final Curse, you need to continue to raise your Corruption meter until the very last bar activates.

I personally just unlocked this achievement yesterday and was hoping to provide some assistance on the best way to get this. First, timing is everything. If you can get the Final Curse to initiate when you hit the champion door, it limits the amount of enemies you have to fight as well as your chances of dying.

Xucat', the Witch is probably the easiest champion to face without getting hit (third door on the bottom layer when you are selecting a level run, all the way on the right). This boss only has 2 types of attacks 1.) drops bombs that are on a timer - making it easy to dodge by rolling - and 2.) shoots a spray of bombs at you in a specific pattern - which are extremely easy to walk in between as long as you keep your distance. Death by a thousand paper cuts is the name of the game against this boss and as long as you are just patient with your attacks, you won't get hit by the boss.

Hope this helps some people unlock this achievement! Best of luck gamers! smile

If you have trouble getting your corruption up that high early enough to get the Final Curse before the first champion, just wait until you get the "Dark Fervor" curse in the first section. This curse gives you corruption over time, so you can focus your play on getting a decent loadout. Then just wait at the final door until your corruption is all the way up. This also means you won't actually be at 1HP.

I preferred Xak'olchir the Blood Hunter because you can just open up on him and take the damage for missing the occasional parry. With an okay loadout I was able to kill him while my HP was still high enough to take a couple more hits. Just had a sword that didn't use stamina for finishers, and a shield that gave me crits after a parry. Facetank ftw.

Killing the boss when the last curse hangs on you is better done in a mixed temple, in my opinion, simply because there are more opportunities to remove curses.
You can also withdraw it by donating some purple object to the gods (talisman or weapon - it doesn’t matter)
