How to unlock the Fast as lightning achievement in Cyber Shadow - Definitive Guide

Just wanted to put this up to let everyone know I've tested both pause screens and they both stop the game clock. So if you need to break during the speed run, pausing the game will not keep the clock running.

Also, if you are at the 2 hour mark around midway Chapter 8 you should have plenty of time to finish under 3 hours. I'm no expert speedrun player, and I finished just at 2:37. Utilize the checkpoints - if you are at low health, sometimes it's better to restart than press onward, as it will reset the time to your last save. It's not very difficult once you've played through at least once. I did it on my first try, third playthrough (first run was 100%, second run was 0%, third was speedrun). I originally planned to try speedrun with my 0% run, but it was so much easier to make it through the speedrun with the health upgrades.

Good luck!

You can switch the game off and it will still count. It doesn’t have to be in one sitting.

I've just beaten Mekadragon and am at 44 minutes. Can anyone let me know if I'm on course?

To answer my own question, yes I was! Times are as follows:

35 minutes - at the monkey shrine.
44 minutes - after defeating Meka Dragon.
1 hour 2 minutes - after getting Sprint.
1 hour 37 minutes - after defeating Combinatron.
1 hour 50 minutes - done!

Hopefully this will help someone figure out what sort of pace they're on. I did also use the cheese method described in the Live Forever achievement to help me out 😉

I combined this run with my 0% pickup run and did cheese the save/dashboard trick a bit. Believe it or not, I accidentally deleted my save from everywhere when I was at the second to last boss on chapter 10. Was on track for a 2:30:00 completion.

Made a second attempt from scratch after having a good cry. Here were my times:
Mekadragon Defeated - 0:45:47
Chapter 6 Start - 1:02:25
Chapter 8 Start (after full upgrades) - 1:17:22
Chapter 10 Combinatron - 1:44:41
Final Save Station (before last boss) - 1:55:51
Final Time - 2:02:23

Very tough achievement combined with the other. One of my proudest completions so far.

I just did it last night. As the post above you mentions, it's best to do the save deletion trick until you get a speedy run between two save points. I managed to get an in-game clock time of 1:47 for my run but in real life time it was closer to 6 hours.

I did not enjoy the grind for this particular achievement, but my OCD was piqued by the fact that every achievement in this game ends in a 1 or 6 to the point where it's been keeping me awake at night for theast few days... So I had to knock it out before the game leaves GamePass on Monday night.

Well, if you're bad at the game, it's going to be very hard, but this is easier than the 0% run, IMO. On that one, I just can't get through chapter 5 and have given up at the moment. Could probably do it, given more time and enough practice...
This one I did in 2:23 with 77%, save scumming all the way at almost every checkpoint. It's really the only way, unless you're an expert. Just be careful not to delete your save from everywhere, which happened to me yesterday, right before the last boss checkpoint on a run that was going to cut it close. It wouldn't delete from the console multiple times and then I pressed the other option by accident in the heat of the moment, which of course did work...Xbox UI is a mess.

I didn't find this too bad, even though I foolishly left the game for almost a year before tackling this last achievement. redface
I ended up running two saves concurrently. One to practice and remind myself of the game, and the other to do for real. My 'practice' game ended up at 3:10, so I probably could have done it on that one if I'd been more cautious.

Going along with what local bellboy said I think if you’ve done the 0% achievement you will definitely be able to do the speedrun.

If you think you will struggle, in addition to the tips given by bellboy, I recommend having two saves for the run. One for practicing and one for speed running. Play a section or so on the practice file and once you think you have it figured out, switch over and do it on the speedrun file.

If the situation is critical in terms of HP. Or if a character dies, you need to quickly exit the game, faster than the respawn at the checkpoint begins. When restarted, the time counter will remain at its previous value.
