The special items needed for this achievement are the weapon boosters you can unlock at some terminal checkpoints. If you unlock them regularly, Salvager should be the last one you get, which I unlocked at a checkpoint in Chapter 8. It is after the motorcycle event and dropship boss. No need to go out of your way hunting secrets for this achievement, just purchase the weapon booster whenever you have a chance and this will unlock with natural progression.
The order they appear is random except for the Salvager, that one was in the same spot in Chapter 8 every playthrough for me. As far as I recall, he checkpoints are not missable. Just make sure to purchase the weapon booster if one is available at the checkpoint.

It's been a while since I played this, but I would imagine if you got the Salvager in Chapter 8, you should have a few more terminal checkpoints that may have the one you are missing before you reach the end of the game.
The checkpoints are not missable as far as I remember. Just make sure to purchase the weapon booster if one is available at the checkpoint. I imagine it is possible to have one not show up since they are almost all random, which is just bad luck if that happens. I unlocked it on my first playthrough without needing to find any secret room or anything like that. You should be able to get it with natural progression through the game.
If you see this, would you let me know if you found the one you were missing as you continued toward the end of the game? Or did you backtrack and find one you missed?
