How to unlock the Vanquisher achievement in Dance Central 2 - Definitive Guide
Update: update...
An update came out for the game today, (I think) December 6th, this may fix the problems people are having unlocking this.
------
Important note: There is curently a glitch in which you have to play more battles than required in order to unlock this achievement. I have yet to figure it out but it may or may not be related to the following:
If flashcards dissappear during a battle. - Checked again, this doesn't matter.
If the other player is signed in. - This DOES matter.
If it has to be 20 unique/different songs.
If DC export and DLC songs count. - DLC counts, DC won't always count.
If you already have a score on the song in Perform It. - Doesn't matter
If you are online. - Doesn't matter.
If it is win 20 songs in a row or one session.
Waiting for the crown to appear at the results screen and for the game to save before continuing.
If the winning player must be ahead in score at all times during the song.
When I unlocked it, the other player was signed and only my profile got it.
-----
This one requires a second player, a cardboard cutout does not seem to cut it (don't ask). However all you have to do is win, which means your "friend" can simply stand in place while you rack up points.
First thing to note is that Dance Battles are much longer than the original song in Perform. So make sure not to tire yourself out by doing this.
Secondly, difficulty does not affect how you score. Someone playing on Easy will score just as much as someone on Hard if they play just as well.
One glitch that came up from time to time was that there would be no flashcards after a Free-4-all, but you are still required to play through the song. I couldn't figure out a way to make them instananeously appear back, so you might as well live with it until it is fixed. They'll come back for you if and once your opponent finishes a solo part.
Shortest songs
These are the shortest songs on disc, in terms of number of moves rather than song length.
"Whip My Hair"
"Rude Boy"
"Oops (Oh My)"
"Meddle"
"Massive Attack"
"You're A Jerk"
"This Is How We Do It"
"Get Ur Freak On"
"Goodies"

Scoring system
Flawless: 5,000
Nice: 3,000
Almost: 1,000
Fail: 0
Solo part: x2 multiplier for your moves.
Free-4-all card: 10,000
Free-4-all gold card: 40,000
Also, make SURE you are playing as the profile who wins the match, and actually win the match. If you haven't set up Kinect ID for yourself (or haven't got one) the game has a habit of switching you around.Flawless: 5,000

It appears you have to do 20 in a row without turning off the game or playing any other mode.
I did every single song over a couple days and nothing. Today I did 20 in a row (different songs), used a fake person as the 2nd person, and used the xbox controller to select songs, difficulty, etc. I had two profiles signed in. Achievement only popped on my account at the end. Also, it didn't matter that I walked in and out of range of the sensor, backed out to the main screen, etc. The only dances I did were the 20 battles in a row.
Just don't do any other song modes in between or exit the game/turn off power and you should be good!
*Explanation of "fake person" - I hung a shirt and pants on a tall stand lamp. I was able to stand behind it and move it until the game recognized it as a person and then I stepped back and to the side and it kept the lamp as a person and then picked me up as a 2nd person. It took a bit of wiggling around to get it to work like that but eventually it did.

What did you use as a "fake" person for the 2nd player?

This achievement is not as simple as it is described. Many people like me couldn't unlock it after we won far more than 20 battles. If you are one of us, try the solution which finally worked for me: to win the 20 battles IN A ROW IN ONE SINGLE SESSION. I did it just now, and this achievement was unlocked right after the 20th battle win.
I just did the exact same thing as MAJESTIC 79 and the achievement popped after the 20th song in a row. I only did on disc songs.
I also wanted to add that in the middle of playing the songs, my 2nd player (my wife) and I got swapped around but the achievement still popped. I started out as the pink player but ended up as the blue player. When I got swapped to the blue player I got signed out. However, I signed right back in and continued on. Thank goodness the achievement still popped. Glad to get this one out of the way.
The weird thing is the achievement popped for BOTH myself and my wife even though I won every battle. Glitchy achievement this one is.

just did this cheev .
i was signed in as the main profile and my mrs was signed in as the 2nd.
it popped after i had beaten her 20 times in a row. didnt matter what the score was aslong as i won the battle. we stopped for a break half way through this didnt seem to make a differance.
i just went down the song list in order, took about 1 hour,
hope this helps

Wanted to add my experience. My wife and I did it. Must be in same session. We did the same song twice in the beginning and after 18 more she got it. Then I won one more after and I got it. The achievement is for either winning 20 songs in one session OR playing 20 different songs in battle mode. You should use a dummy account at least. Stupid harmonix developers saying otherwise "after extensive testing". Lol
To add my own experience:
Play any 20 battles in a row in one session, doesn't seem to matter who wins any of them.
In my case, my girlfriend won the 20th track and unlocked the achievement, then I won the 21st and unlocked it also.

This requires two people, however the second person doesn't actually have to dance, so long as they're on screen and the game recognizes another human player. The dance battles can be played on any difficulty. Win a cumulative total of 20 to unlock the achievement.
