How to unlock the Best Practices achievement in Dance Central 3 - Definitive Guide

You can get this by using a song you have no high score on yet. Just pick a song with no recorded score and immediately do a full session rehearsal followed by a performance using the after-rehearse menu.

I did this twice and the cheev does NOT pop. Did a full song rehearsel and then performance in the menu after the rehearse. Tried it on a new song, and on a song where i beat my highscore with 600k, no luck.

Same here, just did full song rehearsal then performance from the menu after rehearsal. I beat my high score by about 200K and no cheevie. I guess I'll try this on a song I haven't tried yet to see if that makes a difference.

I had to do this in Dance mode as it would not unlock in Story mode.

You have to do a full session rehearse for this to unlock. Using the option to rehearse only few moves won't work.
I did this in master quest mode (after finishing story mode), but I guess it will work also in standard dance mode

There are several ways to do this. First is to play a song you did not do well on or feel you can do better on, go into practice mode and then do better when you hit perform from the after practice options. Second is to pick a song you haven't played, intentionally do poorly, go into practice mode and then actually try on your second attempt from the after practice options.

Note: You must beat your high score on ALL difficulties. For example, if your high score is 2 million on easy and 1.4 million on hard, you must beat 2 million after practice, even if you are playing on hard.
