How to unlock the OMG Indeed! achievement in Dance Central 3 - Definitive Guide

EDIT 10/17/2012: I've been told this has been unlocking for some after completing 'rehearsal' mode. This was not my experience, so no guarantees that it will work for you, but you might as well give it a shot. Stat from a friend when it unlocked in rehearsal mode:
Moves
5 flawless, 51 nice.
Moves passed 56/56 100%
Recaps
Moves passed 72/80 90%

Overall score: 95%

Original Solution: I'm not going to lie, this is a tough one that most people will NOT be able to obtain, but there is a bit of room for error. You're wanting about 2,000,000 points for the 5*, but there isn't a cut off number to 5* a song. When I got this my ending score was 2,216,565, which was only 88% on hard, and the fifth star filled around the last 8 or so moves. There are NOT many dance phrases that repeat, so you're pretty much learning the song start to finish with a new move every 4, 8, or fewer counts.

My advice is to play the song on hard once. Attempt to 'keep up', but don't worry about how you do, just get a feel for the song, the moves, the tempo, but pay CLOSE attention to which moves are 'gold' as you'll want to 'Flawless' or at least 'Nice' those.

After playing through the song once, do 'Rehearsal'. Use and abuse the repeat phrase and the slow down functions in rehearsal mode. You're wanting to get A LOT more comfortable with the moves so they start to feel like one move connects right into the next move. My stats after the 'final recap' for rehearsal said I had hit 95% of all moves and only 'missed' 4. Rehearsal of this song will take you 30 minutes or longer. Plan on at least an hour for JUST the rehearsal.

After rehearsing, attempt the song again and see how you do. You should see improvement (I went up 200,000 points just after the rehearsal). While the moves are fresh in your mind, try again, and again and again. You're trying to build some muscle memory for these moves, so repetition is very important. After 5, or more attempts (this includes the first and rehearsal), do something else, unless you were ALMOST there. Next time you're trying for it, try the song, see how you do, go through rehearsal again to work on those 'Miss' moves or work on the entire song. This will take work a lot of work and repetition for MOST people.

TIPS
1. Rehearsal mode is your friend. Unlike most other dance games, in Dance Central you are learning Choreography, not steps. Learning the transitions, as well as the 'moves' in 'rehearsal' mode will help you know what is coming next.

2. Listen to the lyrics of the song. Some of the moves are dancing out the lyrics (i.e. 'From her head to her toes' is a body roll with a finger point to your head and rolling down to the toe). If you know what is being sung next in the song, you'll have a heads up on most of the moves.

3. Watch the dancers, and, for the most part, ignore the cards. Moves are fast, too fast to keep looking to the cards and back to see what you're doing wrong. If you've got a move that repeats right then left check the card, otherwise watch what you need to work on (the dancer will have red outlines on their body on what you're doing wrong).

Good Luck!!!

Just got this myself. The 5 stars updated on the Finishing Pose with a score of 1,889,xxx. Should be a VERY close cutoff if you want to update the solution. =]

I don't think there is a fixed 5 star cut-off for this song. I once 4-starred this song with more than 2 million points, also in riffraff67's gold star run, the 5 stars trigger rather late at around 2,650,000 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuiRUV5LWuk).

I thought it was percentage of moves completed, not score that was the requirement for stars, which would explain why he already had 2.6m before he hit the # required for 5 stars.. But I could be wrong will have to experiment.

This achievement is definitely buggy as indicated above. There has been at least one update already for this game, so that could've changed how score is calculated. It's interesting that his was that far into the song as he was pulling Flawless consistently. Seems like they just 'randomly' give points and fill stars up.

It's possible to get 100% on a song and no gold stars at the same time (happened to me before and gold stars were definitely possible), so total percentage would be rather unlikely to have any influence. What would make sense imo is that the stars fill up not only by your performance but also by how far you are already into the song in order to handicap people that only hit certain moves and ignore others. The points are linked to a multiplier for combos (it starts with the lights getting dimmed and ends with getting back to normal), that's why the points for every move seem to be random, but they are not. In DC1 you could see the multiplier on the beatbox, they changed that in DC2 for some reason.

Proud to lower the bar a hair with 1,885,378 points (35 flawless and 31 nice), hitting 5 stars on the final pose :)

As mentioned above, the score is greatly influenced by streaks of flawless moves, which builds up a multiplier.

I have just confirmed that this achievement CAN actually be earned on the Rehearse mode, but you have to pass most of the moves. By the end of the Rehearse session, I got 94% of the moves right and the achievement popped.

Did you try the song before going into rehearsal mode??? I had better stats in all area's of the rehearsal mode than my friend did in rehearsal mode; I didn't unlock it, but she did. Only think I can think of different (besides hers being the PAL ver and mine the NTSC) is she started rehearsal mode before ever attempting the song and I as I suggested in this solution (try it first, then rehearsal mode).

Only during the story mode, actually, and only once. I do know that my final score, according to the DC3 app on Facebook, is 1950683.

You probably have to not play the song on hard prior to doing the rehearsal trick. I did this achievement in rehearsal on my second account that never played the song before. (note for the trick you don't need to do 100% in the recap section, not sure about the other part though but i did) However on my account when i tried i have played the song twice before on hard and it didn't unlock as i was doing it the same way on my other account. So I would highly recommend that people would try out rehearsal before even trying out the song and it might pop for them. The only thing i could think of (for people who think they can probably never get this that played the song on hard already) is to play on another xbox and go offline then put DC3 in and do that trick. I'm going to try it myself and see if that works. But you should definitely put in the guide that if you haven't played the song yet do rehearsal first instead of trying the song out first. hoped this is helpful =)

For everyone's notice, there is no such thing as a 5 star cutoff in Dance Central. Sometimes, you will hit 5 stars at 1,7M and sometimes at over 2M. This is because of the 'Gold' moves in the songs which supposedly gives you four times the score. These moves do give more points if preformed better, but this ONLY counts towards your score and NOT your progress towards 5 stars. They just count as much a any other 'normal' move in the song. So if you look into the earlier made comments, the one ChrisD0811 made did only apply in his situation. If you would have scored more points in the 'Gold' moves then him, you needed more points then him to five star the songs. So just to clerify, every move is worth the same for the 5 stars and you are better off by looking at the boombox in the end to see how close you are towards 5 stars. I would very much appriciate it if this can be inplomented into the solution as not very people seem to know that there are no five star cutoffs in this game(I only know this for a few weeks myself).

I would like to say that this song is racist against fat people. My feet can't move that fast.

I just wanted to add that I've never performed the song before and only attempted the song in rehearsal mode. my stats:
Moves
6 flawless, 50 nice.
Moves passed 56/56 100%
Recaps
Moves passed 78/80 97% (the two moves missed were on final recap)

Overall score: 98%

Sadly after over an hour and some 250 calories, the achievement did NOT pop for me.

Same here digital ink
First time, I played without playing the song in Peform it (my first attempt, I never played to song, even in story mode) and got 90%, and something around 10 flawless and 42 nice. No achievement. Then, I tried to peform the song, and then play rehearsal... I got 91%, but I don't remember how much flawless and nice, but no Achievement. Finally I had to play it for real and got the achievement (5 stars) with around 1.880.000 points.

First of all, thumbs up for the solution and to everyone participated in the comments.

First time in rehearsals: I got the exact stats but with more flawless and less nice but no achievement.

However, I went for perform it and got it first try with the score of 1.877Mil (35 flawless, 42 nice).

good luck to everyone who hasn't got it yet :+)

I also unlocked this via Rehearse mode but when I noticed I was offline I was too enraged to look at my stats. I did however get 100% on all the moves when you have to hit them three times or get a flawless.

Is there anybody else who's experiencing the glitch of getting the 5 stars on this on hard and the achievement doesn't pop?

colllecionador looks like we both went the same route. I must say that if you spend enough time in break it down mode like I did, the song becomes a lot more manageable. I was able to do it within a handful of attempts. I think on the attempt that I had the gave me my fifth star was over two million.

you don't need to earn 5 stars on "Perform it",

i unlocked it on "Rehearse" mode. You will have a lot of attempts to do it correctly; I done 85% during attempts and 75% on overall score, when you need to join all.

I just kept trying here is my final stats, 26 Flawless, 58 nice 94% with a score of 3218454. Its hard no doubt but just keep trying. It took me one run of practice and about 20 attempts, most of which had my 1 year old in the way.

I think this might be one of my best solutions. Here is what I suggest.

(background) glitches didn't work for me. I gave up after two rehearsals. Although the rehearsal obviously helps. What I found difficult during the rehearsals was that they were too fast for this song, even when slowed down.

So I went further.... I went to this Youtube page and spent less than an hour watching this and mimicing this guy. Using the pause button it was so much easier to see where some of the difficult body positions were. Constant pausing motion helped so much and i was able to see why the camera was missing some of my (once thought of) perfect moments.

But here is where I really help... for some who have a partner... you can get 5 stars with a partner playing on easy.... yeah! You play hard, they play easy and as long as you get 5 stars as a team.... the achievement is yours....

Of course, you need a partner who does very well, the more they get the less you have to. But don't get me wrong.... you still have to sweat....

Good luck!

And Thank you RiffraffDC

I don't know if this is a glitch or not, but I unlocked this in my first rehearsal mode on hard (never even performed this song on hard before)! At the end of my rehearsal, I had 7 flawless (diamonds) and 45 nices (checkmarks). For recaps, I had Moves Passed 59/80 (73%). And my overall score is 82%. Good luck! You will definitely need it for this achievement!

56/56 passed moves (3flawless/53nice), 75/80 passed moves in Recaps, Overall score: 96%.
I never performed the song on hard before (only on easy).

Worked for me. Said xbox skip to every move, on the recaps got 30/80 moves, only got 4 nices and still got the achievement. But however this was the second attempt I tried it this way, first attempt I tried properly, second attempt I just said fuck and flew through it not trying, so I think it is very possible but very random, before I attempted it I did just play a song in perform on easy and 5 starred it so, might be worth doing a song on easy before hand 5 star it and then hit practise and see if you can replicate that

This is worth 100g for a reason. The song is not easy and unlocks near the end of story mode. It is 80+ moves of high energy jumps, turns and tricky transitions where few of the moves repeat. You are going to need to practice the song a lot to get this done the proper way.

There is a trick that you can use, though. You can unlock this in practice mode. In order to do that, you will need to devote at least a half hour if not more to this one song as a result of the high number and diversity of moves in the song. In this game, score does not determine how many stars you get, it is actually the amount of nice and flawless moves you get and the multiplier you keep. So, when you are practicing, try to pass as many moves as you can both in the breakdown and the recap. If you fail a move, you can always say "XBox previous" to replay the last move and try again to pass it. That won't work for the recaps, but hopefully you will have a decent enough idea on how to manage the moves by that point and can muddle through with a lot of goods. If you have met the 5 star requirement at the end of the song in either practice or perform, you will unlock this achievement. To give you some guidance, I had about 95% or the moves passed in breakdown and about 75% of the moves passed in the recaps with the majority of the moves being "nice." So you do have a fair margin in practice. If you are doing this in perform, you will need a score of somewhere between 1.9 and 2 million points (depending on what moves you miss).

I've included a video of a Youtube personality doing amazingly well in the performance mode, just to give you an idea of what you are getting into.
