Each song can be 'Broken Down' except for the Challenges. When playing Break it Down on the song, you will face two sections.
When you learn the move, you can either pass the move while it is being shown to you (which will get you a diamond), or pass the move three times after its shown to you to get check marks. If you fail the move three times you will get a red X.
During the recap you play through the moves to the song. You pass the move if you get a Nice or Flawless on the move.
The 80% rating refers to the overall score you get at the end of the 'breakdown' and the one seen when you are selecting a song. To make this easier, take your time and pass every move when you are learning it, it will give you a safety net for the recaps.
Due to a bug, you need to get 80% on the hardest difficulty you play it on. If you 'brokedown' a song on Hard, you must Break It Down on Hard to count. This bug has seemed to be overriden by the update.
