How to unlock the Pure Perfection achievement in Dance Central - Definitive Guide

Updated: If you don't mind spending 240 Microsoft Points, Fatboy Slim's "Weapon of Choice" DLC is probably the easiest song to get this on.
--

Whatever song you feel most comfortable with, that's the one you should go with. For me, it was Poker Face (on Easy). You could use Break It Down to practice, but I just kept performing it over and over.

You will need to get a Flawless on every move, including the finish. Unclear as to whether or not a Flawless Freestyle is necessary, but I'd just wave your arms in the air while the camera is going off just to be safe.

Have patience. Even on Easy, this one can be daunting.

EDIT: tsunamishadow recommends the Warm Up Challenge as opposed to Poker Face. So if you can't nail one, try the other.

I flawlessed every move on "Poison", on easy, however, I forgot about the freestyle section.
I didn't get the achievement.
So that should confirm, you must flawless freestyle... haha. :(

Okay... I just did it again, flawlessed every move including the 'freestyle section' and I still don't have the achievement.
What am I doing wrong...

From my understanding if you have done the song on a high level then it is impossible to get this achv on easy...

@Reficuul That is false. I 5 gold starred Poker Face on Hard then went back and got this on Easy.

Phatkane, are you getting a flawless on the ending?

tsunami, I'll add that into the solution, thanks.

Reficuul, that's true for Still Something to Prove, but not this one, as far as I know.

i flawlessed everything on poker face, but i didn't see the "flawless freestyle" indicator and i got the achievement. so either it doesn't matter, or i just didn't see it.

also, i had previously 5 gold starred pokerface, and then did this on easy, so the high score glitch does not apply here.

Just got this tonight after going back to dance central to help up my completion % and I fully agree with Alphamale... Poker face was easiest for me, I downloaded weapon of choice to try it and just couldn't net it 100%, but sticking with poker face and just trying over and over if you screw up, sooner or later you'll grab it, I got it on my 3rd try, I was screwing up going frm the Say What arms, to the Say What sideways moving, every time would only get a Nice. But sticking to it helps and you'll for sure do it! Funkytown is definitely a good one as well! Good selections! +1 from me! Thank you!

Figured i'd try this in Dance Battle when doing the 10 dance battle achieve and tried first with only player 1 getting 100% while slacking on second but didn't work. Achievement popped when i hit 100% on both players. Just if anyone else decides to try the same thing. Did it on Funkytown.

Argghghghghhg! 1 hour 45 minutes trying to get this. I ended up finding Funkytown the easiest. On "Crook" it seemed better to keep your arms straight up and down and on "Talk to Much" I found I had to do a slight lean back on the hip arm.

Funkytown is the best way. The only parts i had trouble on were the beginning (hint: point your elbow a little outwards) and the end (best way to prepare is to watch a video of a run and then just practice the form over and over.

Otherwise, this song is a cakewalk.

Why is Weapon of Choice considered worth buying. It is harder than Poker Face AND Funkytown? Or am i missing something?

I don't know if this helps anybody, but I got this achievement and did not earn it. I was playing through "Drop It Like It's Hot" on easy for the second time. About halfway through, my connection to Xbox Live was dropped (probably some random connectivity issue). When I completed the song, this achievement popped. I missed a lot of moves (that jumping and kicking part is hard), so I know it shouldn't have popped. I don't know if anyone can replicate this glitch, but there you have it.

Just got this. I tried to replicate stevemccaslin's glitch that he got. The glitch didn't work, but while I was doing the song I noticed I was getting lots of flawlesses. I only missed three moves (two of which were when I stopped to unplug the Ethernet cable), and ended up getting gold stars on it. After trying at least 20 times each on Poker Face, Hey Mami, Warm up Challenge, and once or twice on Evacuate the Dancedloor and Funkytown, I thought this might be the one. And guess what... It was. I ended up getting it on Drop it Like It's Hot within 5 tries. If you can't get it on any of the other mentioned songs, try this one. I plan on completing this game, and was afraid this achievement would hold me back since I had so many failed attempts at this.

Weapon of Choice was a big waste of money. It is definitely harder than poker face or any of the easier songs. I can get flawless on everything but the walking say whats.. I'm not even sure what I'm doing wrong. Any tips?

+1. For me, I got all flawless except for the freestyle -- for some reason my mind blanked at that part -- and it still popped.

Look at the cue cards to see which one you miss. Green is Nice, you need the rainbow for Flawless. I would constantly miss the starting move as it starts slightly off-beat. I got is on Poker Face.

I never paid attention to Freestyle, just making faces and such.

I found this easiest on 'Evacuate the Dancefloor'. Same move for 70% of the song, but the ganks can be a little iffy sometimes.

From what I've heard, but I haven't been able to verify it, it's that you need to get flawless on every move (including freestyle) AND at any portion of the move, you cannot have the dancer's body show a red outline. In other words, if a particular move at one point has the red outline (warning you that your body isn't in the correct position) but you managed to get a flawless score, it won't register this achievement. For me, I got this achievement with all flawless and never seeing a red outline.

For most people, doing Poker Face on easy will be easy enough to net this achievement. I could not do it though, as i would always get at least one nice. I found that this was because i am not as good at leg movements as i am at arm movements. So for the people who are superior at arm movements the song Maneater is very easy. Even though its higher up on the difficulty scale, the song is almost all basic arm movements on easy. I'm not saying this is the easiest song to get the achievement but definitely a nice alternative for those who like arm movements or even if you just tired of playing Poker Face over and over. Hope this helps.

After trying all of the recommended songs several times and screwing up a move every time, I settled on "Pon de Replay" (on Easy of course) and got it on my third try. I would have gotten it on my second try, but I did the wrong move by mistake near the end.

A few things to note:

1) There are no moves that are done only once (other than the final pose). To be more specific, if a particular move is done once in a sequence, it's done either two-times or four-times in a row.

2) On "Sway", make sure that there is a gap between your two arms when you raise them from side to side. Also, keep your arms up the whole time - don't lower them...sway them;

3) On "Plead", bring your arms down to mid-chest (hands-together) before raising your arms to the other side of your head;

4) On "Keyboard", make sure to exaggerate the "keyboard" move with your arms and to move your left leg around as the flashcard suggests; and

5) On the final pose, make sure that your right leg is in front of the left and that you are flexing your left arm. It's pretty straight forward and easy as far as final poses go.

Finally, note that in certain parts of the song, it will alternate between "plead" and "sway" [in between the "dust-off" moves]. Keep an eye out for this.

It's a little strange that I found this one so easy, because it is not one of the easier songs on the list and it is a lot harder physically than most of the other songs. But, after so many failures on other songs, I thought that I'd share what finally worked for me.

This one can be tough depending on your skill but it can be done on any difficulty so easy is recommended. You will likely need to run through a song a few times until you know it by heart. This achievement includes getting a "Flawless Freestyle" and a "Flawless Finish." This will really be a personal preference, depending on what moves you feel most comfortable with. To practice each move, you can play the song in Break It Down mode. If you get a diamond on a move, that's the equivalent of a flawless.

Poker Face is a popular choice since it's the first song, but I always seem to have problems with the "Select" move, and a lot of people have problems with "Whatever." I find Funkytown is much easier, just because there aren't any moves that require leg movement. It's basically all arms. Hey Mami is the song I got this achievement on.

NOTE: the achievement description is deceptive here. Simply getting a "Flawless" rating on every move will not suffice. If one of your body parts turns red, but you still get a "Flawless" rating, this will still void the achievement. You really have to do every move perfectly otherwise the achievement won't unlock.
