How to unlock the The Completionist achievement in Dandara: Trials of Fear Edition - Definitive Guide

Monday, February 12, 2018

UPDATE: According to Atsuma Karin (see the comments below) the developers confirmed that this achievement is unobtainable on all 3 platforms and that they're about to fix it.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Unfortunately this Achievement seems to be glitched at the moment!

My Ending Stats Screen:
4 hours 50 Mins
100% Exploration (!)
100% Chests (!)

... and the achievement DIDN’T pop up.

Note that NO ONE ELSE unlocked the achievement yet.

This achievement also unlocks you:

GUIDE:
Here’s a link of the world map included all of the chests and rooms in the game:

I recommend to save the picture of the world map and to paint over all the chests you’ve already collected. I did the same and it worked perfectly.

Basically it’s an open world game and there’s NO NORETURN point where you could miss a chest - Even after beating the final boss, you can reload your gamesave and explore the world again. The savepoint is before the final boss

Some chests are tricky to get. So if you’re struggling with certain chests, you can also follow this 100% WALKTHROUGH VIDEO and take a look how he gets the chest:

I absolutely enjoyed and loved this game. It’s brillant and just amazing. The art and style, how the gameplay and maps got build up - just amazing!
I truely recommend you to test this game out. Take a look by yourself.
5/5 Stars!

I tweeted the devs and this is confirmed unobtainable on all 3 platforms. They say a patch is on the way, though. smile

On saw on their Twitter account that they released a patch in early June to fix the issue on Steam and said they were working on the patches for the PS4 and XBox One. No updates since then.

The developer's blog says that they released the patch a month ago: http://blog.longhathouse.com/ I'm going to play the game so I'll see if I get it.

@ClockKing1986 - please keep us updated when you're able to confirm something! Some of us are skeptical to start due to this single issue :(

@BX REAPA Did you try beating the final boss again? I read that that's how you unlock it after the update for Steam at least.

just beat the boss again and nope still hasn't unlocked, tried quitting and restarting my xbox, that didn't work either so i guess we'll probably need another patch, unfortunately.

Developer response today when I poked them about it:
"Raw Fury was occupied with several launches and events in the middle year, and now that the Switch patch is done, they are actually working on it as we speak! 🙂 Sorry for the incovenience, these ports are beyond our control unfortunately."

I have not played much of the game but I will notify you guys that a new patch showed up today, so maybe you can check if it fixes the achievement or not.

EDIT: Looks like someone popped the achievement now so it is probably fixed

In the likely chance that the hidden realms update chests count for the achievement, here’s a guide for the locations of those. https://www.reddit.com/r/dandara/comments/fh1dbn/hidden_real... I believe there are some other chests in here as well but they’re obvious

Yeah, I can see in the achievement tracking on the One that nobody has unlocked it yet. Guess it is still glitched. This games so fun too.

I did Tweet to the developer about getting and update about the patch now that it's on Game Pass (August 1st) and I got a reply (August 2nd) saying they are going to upload it ASAP. We'll see.

Since Trials of Fear was added, you now need to explore and find every chest in both the main game and the dlc to 100% completion for this to unlock. I can confirm this as I had originally beat the base game at 100% but didn't unlock this achievement until after I found everything in the dlc and THEN completed the game.

NOTE:

Personally I would recommend that you first do the base game completion, beat the final boss and then go to the secret statistics room (located in village center basically right below the campfire) so that you can unlock the progress tracker that way you can more easily track your progress when traversing the DLC area (and also make sure you didn't miss anything in the base game).

Here is a video of the base game completion (Note that since this is the iOS version there will be some minor variations in loot drops and some layout changes in certain parts of the game!)

If you would rather just see the map for the base game here is a link with the chests marked as well:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=12965...

And here is a link to the map for the DLC, this page includes both the map by itself and a map with chests:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=20406...

Some of the chests in the dlc area were kinda tricky to find and I found that the posts here helped me wrap up the ones I was missing!: https://www.reddit.com/r/dandara/comments/fh1dbn/hidden_real...

This is a video guide showing the location of all chests as well as all rooms in the game.

I must give you a heads up in advance just so you don't freak out like me and think you did something wrong or forgot something: this is an IOS version of the game and for some reason the door connecting the rooms called "The Golden Threat" and "The Golden Path" in the forest section does not exist in the X1 version. Instead there's a salt platform where the the door should be.

But don't think this video guide is no use for your 100% walkthrough and you'll miss some rooms if you follow it. On the contrary, this video guide helped me tremendously and I got all the secret achievements and collectibles/exploration related ones following it. Just read the whole solution and follow my instructions and you'll be fine.

At the 1:11:49 lenght mark of the video Dandara will go through this door I mentioned above and visit the following rooms: "The Golden Path", "The Golden Weaponry", "The Breach in the Wall" and "The Golden Angle".

Now you can't reach these rooms the same way the guy on the video does because the door he goes through is not there for you so what you'll do is take the left door that leads to the "Limits of Sanity" room. You'll see a wooden sign on the right that reads "Primal Woods" and a purple flipping platform blocking your way. Take the lower path and you find one of those rotating circles with 4 platform arms and a skull in the middle. Reach the door above you and enter it.

Visit all 4 rooms ahead of you, head back to the "The Golden Threat" room and continue watching/following the walkthrough.

All credit goes to IOSTouchPlayHD for making this walkthrough and recording the video.

How in the world do you turn on the stats to see progress?

There's an option in the game that allows that. It's been a while since I played it so I don't remember where you go to turn on the stats though lol. I'll redownload the game and get back to you.

Ah you don’t have to do all that. Really appreciate it. I can’t find it for the life of me lol

That's ok the game is very light and won't take me more than 5 minutes to do it. That's what you need to do:

From the main menu you go to "Options" then "More Options". There you'll find "Vibration" and "Show Statistics". Enable the show statistics option to see them as you play.

Thanks! So just in case anyone else wonders, this actually isn’t available until you beat the game. In options it’s locked, upon first completion it then unlocked for me.

Is that so? Thanks for sharing this information. I personally have completed the game and didn't know about this. It's always good to have as much info as possible about a game when it comes to achievements/completion so thank you for making my solution richer. smile
