You get Monocoins occasionally from defeated enemies. They can drop in denominations of 20, 35 and 50 (on the easiest difficulty and without skills). You also get bonuses at the end of chapters, but you’ll get this way before that, after your 5th Monocoin drop. See A Vault for more information.
