How to unlock the Now It Makes Sense achievement in Dark Alliance - Definitive Guide

100% Guide on Collectibles! Achievement is now obtainable. You do not have to complete each level for the collectible to register in the journal. After getting the one you are missing, it is okay to exit to camp. If you kept up with the guide and already have all the collectibles. Then start a new character and pick up the tome beside the merchant and the chevo will pop.

(Update Sept 2021: For some people, despite having every collectible as mentioned below, the achievement still will not unlock. Thanks to HamsterLV for confirming a way to get it to pop. It's not a quick fix but it worked for him. Start a new character, play solo or as host, recollect every collectible from the start. For him, the achievement popped at the end of Act II).

With the crappy tracking system on the game, a detailed guide for this is too much effort. But, I will to make a log of all the collectibles to assist in narrowing down where your missing collectibles can be found.

In total you should have:

Collectibles can be picked up on any difficulty setting but must be collected by 1 Character.

*DO NOT look through your journal at Paintings & Relief and compare the picture you see to what you see in a video or pick up on the map. There is some D&D trickery and several pictures for certain maps are swapped with pictures from other maps. Kelvin Triumphs over dragon, the picture of the relief is completely different looking from the picture in the journal, and the paintings you pick up in Fury of Icewind in act I & II are swapped.

I thought certain collectibles were glitchy, even though picked up, they do not register within the journal. However, I'm finding that it is not certain ones, its any of them. The one I was missing, I must of picked it up atleast 10 times before it finally registered in the journal. Others are confirming the same. I do suggest using the list above to find the level your collectible is missing on and then using Game Guides Channel on you tube to find the collectible within the level. His guides are complete and I only found 1 collectible that he missed which is mentioned in the comments by oONeonDemonOo on broklyn city. Thank you!

I can confirm the list is complete and I successfuly just used it to grab the 6 or 7 items i had missed during my first playtrough.

1-My playthrough was COOP, played the whole game with my friend, we scoured the maps normally while playing.
2-after defeating the last final boss, i opened my character and used the list above to identify which journal entries I am missing and noted which levels they are in.
3- I played each level in T1 and used the guides in https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRYiNkjGrK9O7qU0HeDoAad90... to grab the missing items.
4-Achievement popped the second I grabbed the last item on my list.
NOTE: There is no need to end the map completely. Once you grab the item u needed you can return to camp no problem
NOTE2: You can tell when you are grabbing an item for the first time because it shows up for a few seconds on the right hand side of the screen. If you had already grabbed an item before, and you grab it again.... it will NOT show on the right side of the screen.

Glad the achievement got fixed eventually. Wasn't looking good when WOtC perma-deleted the support ticket that we had upvoted to page #1 on their forums...

Two things:
i) Picking up a fresh collectible for that character will pop up a quick notification on the right of the screen. That's how you know, mid mission, when you've picked up something that counted for progress...assuming you didn't have it on another character of course. Worth mentioning, IMO.

His [GGC on Youtube] guides are complete and I only found 1 collectible that he missed which is mentioned in the comments by oONeonDemonOo on broklyn city. Thank you!
ii) Game Guides Channel fixed & re-upped the video that was missing a collectible in Broken City. Also, two last missions in the campaign do not have a collectible video up for some but the secondary solution below this one has a playlist that includes a walkthrough of said missions. Those vids aren't great, as you'll have to ffwd through a lot of meandering, but better than nothing.

Location: Mask Of Kelvin; Broken City

Its in the part where you are fighting trolls not too far from the start. Its located in the middle of this area where you are picking up the objective after killing all the trolls, check near the skeleton/bones just in front of the objective, like one meter on the left

I believe its the 2nd collectible on map. As soon as you jump down and see a lg ogre and bunch of sm guys, its to the right of the center area up against a wall before going forward and jumping into hole

Really good list bro. Not knocking the other guys but this should 100% be the top solution. Found the painting I was missing by just exploring and, after using your list, saw I was missing 2 tablets. I got them by rerunning the levels needed since sometimes they don't count, so I just used the game guides youtube as you said. toast

This achievement now triggers correctly. If you collected all collectibles before this game update, you will need to create a brand new character and pick up a collectible for the achievement to pop (the one at the Base Camp works)."

Got the achievement and didn’t have to go back to get that bugged collectible in the wall so I’m guessing it never counted to begin with. This list is all you need.

No idea, the list is complete. I ran through the whole list last night with my buddy to figure out what he was missing and it worked great. The trophy statues in the camp dont matter because mine are half glitched out and dont register. In the Journal, do you have 18 Bios?

Yes, all trophies. 18 bios the 6-8-70-38. Lvl 19 Drizzt. Then started a new character. Even uninstalled the game and reinstalled it

You just have to keep collecting them and they’ll eventually register. I had to pick up the painting from the last boss like 6 times before it counted.

Again, do it offline and solo. I had one that I picked up about 10x in MP and it never counted till I did it offline solo.

If you do have the full count of collectibles and nothing popped, I would look at the 14 Attribute Shrines. Theres no tracking for this and for all we know, it may actually count for the achievement.

I’ve picked up the one oONeonDemomOo pointed out in the comments (I need it because it’s not on my list) 10 times and it won’t register (pop up w/tablet collected when you pick up one you don’t already have. It’s a shame games come out needing fixed these days and the fixes don’t always work.

But good solution. The list helped. Thanks.

Edit: so I still can’t pick up the one in Broken City but the achievement unlocked even though I still needed 12 items. 🤣 I’ll take it.

If the collectible wont stick in your journal, try another character and see if it sticks in their journal. They set the achievement to pop for those whom already have all to use a new character to pop it. So, it may work in the same fashion.

Question.. I have all the collectibles without issues with recollecting etc. Unfortunately no achievement, even after making a new character and collecting the tome by merchant. I needed 3 items since last being on.
I have an explanation mark that's permanently on my journal tab, I'm wondering if that may be the reason why it won't pop.
Does anyone have any suggestions to maybe getting this to pop

If your total count matches above. I would do a hard reset on xbox by turning off and unplugging. Go back in game, re-count and pick up the tome by the vendor.

I have run through Act I and II three times and cannot get the Endurance of the Elk painting to trigger. I read that some were swapped, but even doing both maps I cannot find it. Suggestions?

I just ran a new character through Fury of Icewind Act I, It's definitely on act I close to start of msn and no need to kill any enemies. Run straight down the hill, on the 2nd group of enemies, take the path on the Left, at that group of enemies, get heat and run through ice to get to ladder. On top of the cliff the picture is on the right side of the path hidden behind ice cycles.

It have been a nice guide to know the names and exact collectibles you have left. Unfortunately, I picked every single collectible and my achievement didn't pop. I tried hard reseting the Xbox many times, creating different characters and picking up the collectible next to the vendor, playing online, offline, in different difficulties. Also I have all collectibles, I count them every time I join the game...but nothing seems to work cry

There's been several people with the same issue. It makes me wonder if there is more to the achievement. The trophies at the camp, I can confirm do not count. Did you get all 14 shrines & 18 Bios HamsterLV? If you find what makes it pop, definitely msg me and I'll update this for others.

So finally I unlocked the achievement. After collecting them all with a friend (he was mostly host) he unlocked the achievement right there and then, I didn't. We compared our collectible list from journal, they were the same. I tried hard reset, make a new character and collect the collectable in base camp. Nothing worked.
I decided to make a new character and collect them all again. So I started from first mission and worked my way. I unlocked my achievement after collecting last collectible in Verbeeg Act II. I was playing solo and I have no idea what triggered the achievement to unlock. Hope this helps.

I can't get The Lake to stick. I'm picking it up offline solo and it just doesn't register.

Just in case anyone is using this guide like I am https://game8.co/games/Dungeons-and-Dragons-Dark-Alliance/ar..., it turns out the tablets for The Lake and the one just before the final boss are mixed up. That's why it wasn't registering for me. Thank God I checked the comments, I was going crazy.

I had one collectable that would not register when I would pick it up. I tried picking the tablet up at least 50 times. I took another one of my characters (did not create a new one).
started on act one collecting everything and achievement popped on act 2 level 2.

Try playing through act II and picking everything up again. There seems to be something glitchy in that area of the game. Personally, I had trouble with the troll chef boss not sticking for another achievement.

The original assumption was that it had to be done with 1 character, but, the original patch to fix the achievement involved creating a new character. Sounds like it could be done with multiple characters but I have no way to confirm it.

The extra chapter they added to the game counts for the lore collectibles total. I popped achievement in a level, still needing 5 more collectibles from original levels. Hope this helps.

for anyone struggling to find the "Wounded Mountain" tablet in Mask of Kelvin III, it is right where the cage once was just around the left wall. Finally got the achievement now.

Still broken. All bios, all everything in this guide collected. Scroll collected with new character multiple times. Played Verbeeg Act II with an old and new character. Hard reset multiple times.
Edit: Had to do it on another character and collect probably 30-35 pieces of lore before it popped. Did not happen on Verbeeg Act II. DLC collectibles didn't seem to count for me because I had all those.

Very annoying. Went back and collected every single lore item, triple checked them. Collected the free DLC lore items as well which didn't seem to help. Still didn't pop. I'll give one last shot with a new character but I'm seriously miffed.

Edit: After completing about half the game on a new character, it still hasn't unlocked. Tracking system is just terrible on this. Game isn't good enough to justify time wasted.

As of today, this achievement is still a piece of shit 😂 same issues like the other guys. The good Thing is, I still love the game and play it. I hope it will unlock someday 😎

For those who didn't trigger this achievement, check the tablet "Kelvin's Cairn (at the very beginning of The Hunting Grounds (The Fury Of Icewind). This tablet is bugged. In my case, it appeared in the "all list" but not in "The Geography of Icewind Dale".
Just try to pick it up again.

You won't get the achievement because the list above is wrong, some tablets are missing. I recommend following the list on Steam and the Wiki, plus YouTube of the second guide.

I immediately found what was missing and the trophy exploded. Although I played it on PS5, but it's the same thing. I've compared various guides, but this one above is wrong, follow Steam and below and you'll have the goal.

I checked here on Trueachievements since I use it for Xbox and usually the guides are great, but this one above is wrong.

king69FESTER, try it on difficulty 1 and Offline solo. That worked for me on the first attempt for every glitched tab/tome.

Another good tip is that each collectible within the same category group has the same picture. So if you use your phone to take a picture of another tome or tablet in the same group, when you see it on the map you'll know exactly this is the one not catching on the map or you may find yourself focusing on the wrong collectible.

I do not see where "Thoughts on Cultists" is allegedly found in Verbeeg Jamboree - A Feast For All Cretins, Act III.

UPDATE:
Found it. It's located on stairs on the path that isn't need to reach the boss. You go in a small room to grab a lever behind a fat guy, go up the lift using the lever, and it's there surrounded by little enemy dudes, on the stairs to the right just before the warp portal back.

ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED!!!
1000/1000G on 17 Aug 2021, Tuesday for "E vee dub".

It unlocked for me the instant I picked up my last tablet.

Use this playlist I made for all lore objects. The videos show all lore object locations besides 1. Check the comments for “Pasconnu Pasdelogo’s” comment (he explains where the lore object is) on the “Broken City” level once you get to it. Attribute points are not required.
