How to unlock the Saving Face achievement in Dark Alliance - Definitive Guide
This achievement does seem to be rather buggy as I had to create a brand new character for this one to unlock.
Verbeegs are the huge giant looking enemies holding spears. (Not to be mistaken with Trolls)
Elite enemies have the skull icon by their health bar and have a green glow over their body.
1st
The first Verbeeg is on the level “Goblins at the Gates”, about midway through. You’ll see him just by running through the level, he appears right before a big door where you have to kill enemies in order to advance.
2nd
The second Verbeeg is at the very end of the level on “The Goblin Valley.” Simply run through the level and collect all 4 explosive barrels and Slugvogg will be on the other side of the gate at the very end.
3rd
The third Verbeeg I found about midway through the “Designs of Duergar” mission. Once you hop across a broken bridge right after you pick up the first runestone there’ll be a pit looking area with spikes underneath the bridge. You’ll also see a verbeeg here. You’re going to need to take him out, which will then spawn the elite variant we need in the same area.
4th
Thanks to @ANDY3116 and @Weltschmerz, it turns out The Chef is also required for this achievement. He can be found in the mission, “A Feast For All Cretins.” Make your way to the very end of this mission and take him out.
5th
There also happens to be another elite verbeeg on the mission, “The Verbeeg Jamboree.” Make your way through the mission until you get presented with two verbeeg in front of a gate that requires an explosive barrel. Take them both out and the elite variant that we need will spawn. Shoutout to @LeechXBL for this one.
6th
Another elite Verbeeg can be found on the mission, “The Broken City.” Follow the main path until you get to the runestone being protected by the purple bubble. Make a left and take the portal and continue heading straight all the way down (don’t go up the stairs) then take a left and you’ll see Wrigglin’ Wolly. A big thank you to @koolkong94 and @TrueVeteran for confirming this one.
-I also recommend playing through these levels solo instead of co-op because if you don’t get the finishing blow it won’t count towards the achievement if you’re playing with someone else.
After you take out all 6 the achievement should be yours. If not, I suggest try running through these missions on a new character.
Good luck!

Things to note
Important that they are glowing green with a skull icon next to them. Run on T4 or higher to be sure you get the “elite” version.
On my last run, the 2nd one did not have a skull. I’m not sure if this meant he wasn’t a true elite, or that simply I’d already previously killed an elite version of him - or indeed the “bosses” don’t have the skull icons???
I didn’t need to kill the 4th again, so this confirms I’d already beaten him on a previous run.
In summary I don’t think this achievement is bugged at all, nor do I think that co-op messes it up (prepares to be proven wrong there)! I ran this with a character that previously didn’t unlock it, simply because I wanted a higher level character to quickly run T4! My solo only character remains unused for this.
I’ve taken screenshots and even videos of the first three for reference so can share if needed.
Happy Verbeeg slaying folks 😎
