I’m lieu of a proper guide for now the levels you need to play are as follows:

The Verbeeg Jamboree
Designs of the Duergar
The Hunting Grounds

T4 to get more consistent elite spawns but your mileage will vary

These are the only levels that you will encounter gnolls in.

Personally I was getting immensely frustrated until now having run the third level on T4 more times than I could count! I eventually unlocked it when replaying The Verbeeg Jamboree in a room where I spawned a gnoll with a shield. This clearly hadn’t spawned for me previously as I also played this level thoroughly multiple times.

All I can say is that I don’t believe this to be in any way glitched… you just have to persevere and you will get it eventually.

Im happy to give tips if you’re struggling

It’s hard to say which “room” as it’s all outside. You go past an area where there are flames circulating in the centre and it’s off to the right generally speaking. I do have a screenshot of the area in question but I’m not sure how to upload it.

Achievement is definitely bugged, I got to the area passed the flames you were talking of and killed this gnoll multiple times, he has dual wielding blades not a shield btw and no achievement. I killed this one gnoll with a different character and it popped right away.

The one I killed in that area definitely had a shield which he loses once he’s the last enemy standing.

Didn’t see the one with the shield, perhaps I had already killed it. But yeah definitely bugged so if anyone isn’t able to unlock this just try on another character. +1

After completing the game coop, I got the achievement the first time I played the Verbeeg Jamboree mission Act 1 solo.

Here I killed the gnoll Zelik is mentioning, the one with dual wielding blades. Popped right after I killed him. Doesn't seem to be too many gnolls in that act, but that perticular gnoll seems to be one that people are missing. Probably cause that's the only place it spawns.

Just revisiting this and to clarify, when I said shield I never meant a physical one. He has an “aura” shield that only vanishes after you have killed some minions that are with him 👍🏻

He does dual wield blades
