A sidenote when following a guide on these collectibles.
Save the game everytime right before you pick up any Armor, Shield, Ring or Weapon.
After picking it up, check your stats by pressing the 'START' button and viewing Collection.
This is because the game tends to glitch some of the collectibles, where it doesn't register them.
If the game didn't register, just reload your game and collect it again.
(i've had encountered multiple occasions, where I had to replay 2 hours of gameplay, including minibosses.)
