How to unlock the Brightstone Bonfire achievement in DARK SOULS II - Definitive Guide
As usual, the primal bonfire is guarded by one of the Old Ones. In this case, the Duke's Dear Freja. Freja is an enormous spider that oddly enough can shoot a laser out of one of its two mouths (one on each end). The trick to beating her is to quickly run around to her opposite side as soon you enter her area. Smack her on the mouth located on her ass a couple of times, then quickly circle around to her "front" side and do the same thing. Repeat this process until she falls over dead. The key is to not stay on either end of her body for too long.
With Freja gone you can proceed through the nearby hole in the wall. There will be a single guy you have to kill in a place called the Duke's Private Chambers. Keep going from from there to the room with the bonfire. Be careful, though, as another enemy is waiting for you in there, though he's easy enough to beat by circling around and backstabbing. He also drops some pretty nice armor.

For this trophy you will need to defeat the Duke's Dear Freja boss and then light the primal bonfire. In order to access this are you will need to go through the following areas:
1. From Majula you will have to unpetrify Rosabeth with a Fragrant Branch of Yore in order to gain access to the handle that opens the gate to the Shaded Woods. This is where you can get the Change Clothes trophy so make sure you have some spare armor on hand before you go here.
2. Progress through the Shaded Woods and fight the Scorpioness Nejka Boss.
3. Keep Progressing and fight the The Prowling Magus & Congregation Boss.
4. Get to the Duke's Dear Freja and beat her.
This boss again is fairly simple, you can only attack her faces (one on each side of her body). Being a melee character is risky because her legs and mouth can attack you for big damage and the acid she spits can erode your equipment. What you should do first is kill all the spider enemies around you and then focus on the boss. Before the boss fog door there is an NPC phantom at the other end of the fog door you can summon (Ashen Knight Boyd) for help. Fire based weapons and spells will deal the most damage to the spider. Be aware of her beam attack if you are too far away, she will use it. Video guides for the bosses are below:

Story progression – can’t be missed. You need to kill the Duke’s Dear Freja, a giant two headed spider at the end of Brightstone Cove. You can summon excellent ally (his sign is behind the pillar opposite the fog gate by the far wall) to aid you and be aware that a number of smaller spiders are present to begin with, so try and clear them out ASAP. Once they are dead stick really close to Freja’s sides. She can’t hurt you there as her leg stomps don’t get close enough and her other attacks come from each head. You can only damage each of her heads, so wait until she attacks and then get a couple of strikes in before moving to her safe area. She will do a big lunge, a two hit mandible combo or a large spit attack all of which can be easily dodged or blocked. If you need to heal try and bait her lunge attack and then run around to her side to quickly get health back while she recovers. Once she dies make sure to interact with the glowing red soul and then follow the passage to kill the weak Duke, then another passage to the Primal bonfire. Beware: Vengarl’s headless corpse will be waiting for you so kill him before lighting the fire.
After killing the boss, you will find yourself in a small room with a weak zombie and then in a large hall with a main fire. Behind the fire there will be a rather serious enemy - a headless body. Try to go around him on the right and hit him in the back if possible, then you will deal with him quickly enough. He drops a very nice set of armor.
Boss: Freya, the Duke's beloved! The boss itself is practically not difficult, the main thing is to have a good reaction, but small spiders make the task a little more difficult, so first try to destroy them without getting hit by a powerful charge of cobwebs from the boss. I tried to deliver single blows to the spider’s face with a one-handed weapon (For example: Broadsword) and quickly roll away to the side, heading towards the other head (the boss has 2 heads, like Kotops, only this is a full-fledged spider), the main thing is not to fall under the sticky web, otherwise everything may end badly, because... you will move very... very slowly! You can apply Coal Tar to a weapon to make the weapon take Fire damage! Alternately attacking both heads with single attacks should lead you to a successful completion of the matter, or rather killing the Boss. We select the Great Soul and go further into the opening, through the chambers of the Lord ( we kill the Lord and take the key to Brightstone and the Fragrant Branch of the Past , and go to the fire, but be careful, Vengarl was waiting for me there, although he did not pose much difficulty for me, a couple powerful blows to the back and he was ready, but still be careful! The following fell from him: Bracers, Top and Bottom Now you can light the fire, take a deep breath, relax and watch how the trophy is unlocked.
