How to unlock the Clangorous Covenant achievement in DARK SOULS II - Definitive Guide

This Achievement is for joining the the Bell Keeper's covenant. There are two ways to join, and finding the first one requires a little effort on your part. You'll come across a bonfire after defeating the three sentinel bosses in Lost Bastille. Right next to that is a ladder. Go down it (watch out for the dog) and use a Pharroh's Lockstone on the little face in one of the walls. This will highlight a spot on another wall, which you can then knock down to reveal a secret passage. Note that this wall cannot be broken down unless you've used the lockstone. The new passage leads to a door and the Belfry Luna area. Just after entering you'll see a tiny man sitting on top of something to your right. Talk to him a few times and he'll eventually offer you the chance to join the Bell Keeper's.

The second place you can join is the Belfry Sol area of Iron Keep. Towards the end of the level, you'll find yourself in a big open room with lava at the bottom and some platforms suspended over it. A knight will probably be firing at you with arrows as soon as you enter the room. Go through the nearby door and use a Pharros' Lockstone. Now strike the marked wall and go up the ladder. You should see a bonfire once you reach the top. Go up the ladder next to it to reach the Belfry Sol area, along with another little man you can speak with to join the covenant.

This covenant operates in a similar fashion to the Forest Keeper's from the original Dark Souls. You'll be given a ring, and whenever other players enter the bell tower area, you'll be summoned to kill them. Defeating players in this way nets you titanite chunks, so it definitely has its advantages.

There is actually another place to get this achievement (and possibly even more places). I didn't even hear about this place until your solution. There is another bell inside the Iron Keep (I think that's the name). You can basically reach it the same way as in your solution. There's a little room with a door and a Pharroh's lockstone which leads to a ladder and dwarf who sits on a table.

Good point! I've updated the solution accordingly.

Lol sorry for the spam I apparently created (should have fixed that now)
I'll let you know if I find another one of these bell spots. I remember that dwarf saying something about a few bells so i'm guessing that there is still one left.

No problem, figured it was an accident! There should only be two bell spots, though. The guy in Belfry Luna specifically mentions that there's one for the prince and one for the princess.

It's worth mentioning that even though you are in the Covenant, you will still be invaded by other covenant members for trespassing in the tower. So just because you join, doesn't mean you are safe! And yes, this is a FANTASTIC way to farm titanite chunks, I had 18 within an hour last night. You'll typically invade with someone else, so the fights are usually 2 on 1 (not fair to the trespasser).

Screw this place, whether you are in the covenant or not you'll be invaded every couple minutes by people. Makes it hard to get help on the nearby boss angry

Joining the covenant and defeating "intruders" is a very easy way to farm titanite chunks, though. So at least there's that. Seems to me like hardly anybody puts down a summon sign inside the actual tower, which sucks. Everyone's putting it on the bonfire up the ladder in the bastille, which you can't cross over from when summoned.

The above is the easiest way to get, an alternative way is after you've beaten the Smelter demon, proceed through the room with the two Ironclad knights, you'll get to the room with the lever and the path onwards, take a minute to kill the archer closest to you or he'll be a pain, then go to the wall directly left from the door leading into the room, using a Pharros lockstone will lead up to a second platform with a Treasure chest and a bonfire, careful with the bonfire as if you drop in to light it, you can't walk out and will have to teleport to another bonfire, directly in front is another ladder, this one leading to Belfy Sol with another insane Dwarf who offers to the option to join, overall, doing the path directly after the Ruin Sentinels which leads to Belfry Luna is easier for this trophy, but Belfy Sol has some nice treasures.

PLEASE NOTE, YOU DO NOT NEED TO JOIN A COVENANT TO GET THE ACHIEVEMENT – JUST HAVE THE OPTION TO: Speak to the Bell Keeper either at Belfry Luna (Lost Bastille) or Belfry Sol (Iron Keep) both of which require a Pharros Lockstone to access. For Belfry Luna, go to the bonfire in the Servants Quarters in the Lost Bastille (after Ruin Sentinel fight) then down the ladder in that room. There is a Lockstone contraption in the room at the bottom, use it and hit the glowing face to gain access to Luna and this Covenant. You need to get this covenant to at least Rank 2 in order to acquire a spell.

You can join this covenant in 2 places:

1) Tower of the Moon. In the Forgotten Fortress location near the Servants' Dwelling bonfire. (immediately after the Ruin Guard bosses) there is a descent into the basement. There is a Farros device in the basement. Activate it with the key-stone and an illusory wall will be illuminated for you. There will be this hidden location behind it. There you will meet a small gnome who will invite you to join the covenant. Also in this location there are gargoyle bosses (almost the same as in part 1, only there are not 2, but 6 of them)

2) Tower of the Sun. In the Iron Citadel location, on the road to the Iron King, after the first bridge where the “battleship” mobs appear. with the clubs, immediately turn left and open the door. Activate the Farros device and go through the illusory wall. You will again meet the crazy gnome who will invite you to join this covenant.
