How to unlock the Looking Glass Knight achievement in DARK SOULS II - Definitive Guide

The looking Glass Knight is located in Drangleic Castle past the Central Drangleic Castle bonfire, accessible after beating the pair of Dragonriders. The boss itself telegraphs his moves and is fairly easy to avoid, however if he connects, he hits hard. Avoid attacking his shield arm, as the shield is impenetrable and most melee attacks will simply bounce off. The shield also has a chance to parry and reflect spells, so spellcasters beware. He also has several ranged lightning based attacks, so it may be advisable to take a lightning quartz ring into the fight. The Looking Glass Knight will summon an NPC to assist him in the fight. There is a chance that another player will be summoned instead of the normal npc, making this fight potentially much harder. This is done by a player laying a red sign soapstone down in the hall leading to the boss, so should you see any red signs on the ground, and do not wish to engage in pvp in addition to the boss, you may want to tackle this fight offline. Should another player be summoned, direct all of your attacks and efforts and them and eliminate them as soon as possible.
Additionally, you can summon an NPC, Benhart of Jugo, to assist you in the fight. While Benhart does not actually contribute to the fight that much, he provides a wonderful distraction, allowing you to dish out damage and heal if needed. If you are attempting to get the achievement for inheriting Benhart's equipment, then this is one of the fights that counts towards doing so (you need him to survive 3 out of 4 possible fights, this being one).

You won't be able to get past this boss, so this trophy can be considered a story trophy. It is located at the end of the Drangleic Castle - Royal Passage location. A very nasty boss. He hits quite hard with his sword, jumps from a long distance and strikes with lightning. At the beginning with weak lightning in a mile range, and at a lower level of health and stronger ones: 1) hits the ground with a sword and releases a directed stream of lightning. Flies across the entire arena. You can dodge if you roll at the last moment. 2) Swings and releases several ball lightning. You can either dodge or simply move to the other end of the arena (they have a limited flight radius).

It also summons dark phantoms from the shield 2 or 3 times per battle. Phantoms are not very strong, but they interfere with the boss fight. I noticed that if you hit the phantom as soon as it appeared (before the animation ended), it would just stand there for several seconds. During this time, they can easily be killed.

I advise you to summon your own phantom and let it deal damage. The boss will attack the player regardless of the amount of damage dealt. Take a better shield and move away from the boss in the block so that the phantom is behind him and constantly deals damage. After summoning the first dark phantom, the boss will still switch to your ally, so try to kill the dark one as quickly as possible and return to the boss - your allied phantom has very low defense, so it will not last long with the boss.

It is best to upgrade Havel's shield and armor to the maximum, I did this and killing it alone (not just this boss) without allies was not much of an effort...

The boss is weak to the element of darkness and magic, which is essentially the same thing.

Not to say that the boss was really difficult. He knocked him down with magic, lightning and a large fireball. When it was all over, he finished off with a strong reinforced weapon in two hands. Well, a dummy NPC. Since he was actively tormented, he never had time to call upon his assistants.

The only difficulties were that:

1. This viper presses on you and can press you against the wall, and since the walls are mostly not even (ruins, after all) and the NPS dummy also kneads it, getting in your way, you can simply get stuck. And the boss will beat you at this time.

2. I was spitting because this comrade repelled two charges of my strong magic in a row. It is quite possible to waste half of your ammunition reserves.
