In order to get this trophy you will have to defeat the Lost Sinner boss and light the primal bonfire. Make sure then before you light bonfire you get the chest containing the Fragrant Branch of Yore. He is located at the bottom of the Sinner's Rise tower which is accessed by progressing through The Lost Bastille. In order to get to this boss and avoid a lot of the annoying enemies when you reach the basement of the area defeat the Belfry Gargoyles and obtain the Bastille Key first to unlock the doors in the cell area and also gain access to the 2 side rooms right before the fog door leading to the boss. Using a torch you will be able to light up the boss room making this battle much easier to stay locked on to the boss. To access this area you have a few options:

1. Defeat the Pursuer Boss in the Forest or Fallen Giants and have the eagle at the nest carry you to the Lost Bastille or go through No Man's Wharf (from Heide's Tower of Flame after the Dragonslayer boss) and take the ship to the Lost Bastille.
2. Then you will have to defeat the Ruin Sentinel Sisters in the Lost Bastille.
3. *Optional* Access Belfry Luna from Servant's Quarters bonfire after Ruin Sentinel Sisters boss fight to get the Bastille Key by beating the Gargoyles and doing the small sub-area (NPC invader).
4. Fight the Lost Sinner in the Sinner's Tower.

This is one of the boss fights you can summon Lucatiel for and will count towards the Lucatiel trophy if you talked to her in the Lost Bastille tower and exhausted all dialogue. As for the actual boss battle the Lost Sinner is fairly simple, if you have a phantom with you (NPC or real player) one of you simply should have a shield with 100 physical reduction and high stability and just block when the Lost Sinner is targeting you and you will never take damage from him unless he does the overhead jumping slash in which case you have to dodge it. Other then that just use ranged attacks or pick your melee carefully after a successful dodge or block as you "punish" his recovery for whiffing the attack. As always, make sure you do not drain your stamina when attacking or forgo an attack if you blocked too much and lost too much Stamina. Video guides for this trophy are below:

Story progression – can’t be missed. At the end of the Lost Bastille you will find Sinners Rise. Head down the elevator and through the watery depths to find a long bridge leading to a boss fight. The Lost Sinner is pretty tough and will do relentless physical attacks, so summoning help is advised (you can summon Lucatiel from the bottom of the elevator if you spoke to her earlier and are human). Only go for single strikes and try and recover as much stamina as you can between her strikes. All her attacks CAN be blocked if you have a good shield and stamina, but only counter when there is an obvious opening. In terms of healing, Lifegems leave you FAR less exposed than the Estus Flask. Once she dies, you can enter a new area to light the Primal bonfire.

From the Forgotten Fortress you will be taken to the Hill of Sinners! The nearest fire is Salfort! I’ll say right away, don’t pay attention to the video and don’t think that the worthless sight of a boss in shackles and with a sword won’t make you sweat, after all, they give you a Great Soul for it. So the Boss is the Forgotten Sinner! She is quite fast and her attacks have a wide range! If you have a bad shield from physical attacks. attacks and little stamina, it will be oh so hard! The ideal tactic is to pump up your strength and pick up the Tower Shield. His boss rarely punches! Try to study her attacks and the number of attacks and attack immediately after a series of attacks from the Sinner. She really likes to retreat into the darkness, which throws off the sight aimed at her - try to take aim at her as quickly as possible, again, and put up a shield! In general, I didn’t even have to worry too much about the Tower Shield! At the end of the battle, having received the soul, proceed forward into the room and light the fire.

Before entering the fog towards the boss, there are staircases on the sides where you can light a fire, which will make killing the boss much easier. The door key can be obtained after killing gargoyles in the Belfy Luna location.

It’s a misconception that phantoms won’t come out in the dark until they come out.

In NG++, at a fire on a hill, I threw a human figurine into the fire, this greatly weakened the boss in attacks and his movement around the arena called Lukatiel and killed the Sinner and two red phantoms that jumped out halfway through the boss’s life without much effort... This can be done as both in the first and in the second playthrough, if you don’t mind the human figure.

In NG+, I don’t recommend lighting these lights on the sides of the stairs unless you also want to encounter Dark Phantoms that appear after the boss has half his life left. You will have to not only concentrate so that the Sinner does not kill you, but also dodge the Fireballs, simultaneously destroying this evil spirit. It’s better to beat her in the dark, then no one will get out.

A simple way to defeat the sinner in NG+:

-put on the “red eye” ring (sold by a cat);

-summon Lukatiel to fight;

-during the battle, covering ourselves with a shield and not striking her, we calmly retreat, making sure that Lukatiel is behind the sinner’s back. When phantoms appear, we take the sinner with us away from them (without turning our backs to them), Lucatiel will deal with the phantoms (high probability). There are no further problems with the sinner.
