The biggest thing to know is get the ring of life protection ASAP, it basically takes the sting of death away for 3,000 souls, taking out all of the pain in this game...always make sure your carry weight allows you to fully roll to evade properly, bow and arrow is a great way to kill from a distance and draw a target to your kill zone along with baiting and kiteing , farm souls by writing your name on the floor as soon as you get the ability to help others especially at bosses entrances, the Avelyn crossbow hidden in the undead crypt is a beast especially when infused with mundane stone , if you get tired of being invaded in certain parts just start a party , you will be in "offline mode" while still getting date stamped achievements , this game is Probly one of the more rewarding games I've completed besides halo wars , the saboteur and the command and conquer games but no where near as hard as advertised I give it a 9.6

I just earned this achievement and will offer this advice: Collect as many souls and defeat as many bosses as possible in the first game. This will provide a bank of sorts to draw on and can make your second and third play throughs shorter. Keep enough souls on hand to keep rings repaired but level up consistently. Talk to every merchant and know who restocks what, i.e. Ardyne in the Undead Crypt will restock effigies and Ornifax in Teslora will have unlimited herbs "to recharge a few spells".
New game++ did not feel much different from ng+. I did save up 4 million plus souls to level up a the start of ng++. This made my sorceror powerful enough to handle the increased stats in enemies.
Keep track of achievements to earn along the way and cross off what is complete. There is so much data to track that it was easy for me to mix up some details. I could have been done sooner if I had not made an error in my tracking of spell locations.
I ran out of effigies in my first game and almost quit because I could not progress with- out co-op. I learned my lesson. Conserve resources. Waste nothing. Stockpile herbs, repair powder, etc. Experiment and learn to use spells and skills effectively.
I do not know if I will do a no bonfire/no death run or not. I do not know if I will try PvP or not. Invasions caused me to lose progress, killed vital NPCs and so, play off-line as suggested above. The Shrine of Winter jump/skip is viable if you just need to get to Wellager quickly for the last few spells that are in ng++ only. But you will need to delete the updates and play exclusively off-line. Save when you get to him, go back on line and buy your spells and get the time/date stamp if that is important. You can find information on the shrine skip on you-tube.
Dead Souls II made me a better gamer. I consider myself to have average skills. I am grateful to all the gamers who posted guides here. They were invaluable. Thank-you and thanks to the co-op partners whom got me past the evil Chariot boss, ggrrrr. I helped others in return. But that one guy who killed Ornifax in her store while going for me: for you there is no forgiveness, lol. Good luck and persevere.
My stats: SSL: 263 SM: 21011785 700+ hours of play

this hint is suitable for many trophies, many write “there are no more enemies - use the ember of enmity”, but this is not at all necessary, just join the covenant of Champions and enemies will appear endlessly (with the exception of red phantoms, disposable enemies and bosses), it is much easier and you won’t spend anything and won’t make the game more difficult

A few more tips.
1. Download the DarkSouls phone application from the Play Market. A very convenient thing. You will find there a lot of useful information on battle tactics, finding all the items, their descriptions, information about locations, merchants, etc., etc. This application helped me a lot.
2. It is not necessary to kill the four great ones again on ng+ to receive their souls (for exchange for spells). It’s easier to do this in ng, using the Coal of Hostility. Then in NG+ these bosses will not be needed at all.
3. DO NOT waste boss souls on ng. At all. Only a couple of pieces to get the desired weapon, and those that need to be exchanged for spells. Leave everything for later playthroughs.
4. After the first playthrough, you will be left with a bunch of things. Plus farm souls (for example, on the Lord of Giants). Before you start ng+ (++) spend all your souls on buying the most expensive things from merchants. And then on ng+ sell it all to Gavlan (you will find him in the Deserted Marina). on NG+ I got about one and a half million souls in this way, then I “disassembled” the souls of the bosses and it turned out to be 2 million. Thus, I passed through the Temple of Winter very quickly. I took the fragrant branch of the past in the Harvest Valley.
5. During the passage of ng, be sure to find three life saving rings. Then you can forget about the loss of souls. They died and exchanged the ring for a whole one. After the third ring broke, we went to Manjula and repaired the rings. All. We can move on.
6. As soon as you started ng+ and ng++, immediately run to the second bonfire of the Forest of Giants, to the merchant and buy a key from her to open the blacksmith’s workshop in Manjul - he will repair rings for you.
7. If in ng++ you don’t have enough souls to get through the temple of winter, and farming on bosses seems difficult to you or you just don’t want to, run to the Iron Citadel and clear the location. The mobs are very easy, and the souls for them are decent. I dressed in clothes that increase the number of souls from killed enemies and as a result of one run I received about 160 thousand souls (600 thousand were not enough for me to get through the Temple of Winter).
8. We obtain medals of light as follows. NG. We join the covenant of champions so that the enemies respawn endlessly. We burn the Coal of Enmity in the Interworld and at the second bonfire of the Earthen Peak. We dress in clothes that increase luck. We kill 2 supervisors immediately near the second bone of the Earthen Peak until the items (any) stop falling. As soon as nothing falls out 3 times in a row, we immediately go into the interworld and kill the falconers according to the same scheme. We hit while things fall, if nothing falls out 3 times in a row, we change the location. Thus, I quite quickly knocked out 30 medals of light (compared to all those whose advice I listened to earlier).
9. After the first victory over Nashaandra, exchange her soul for the bow of desire (I think that’s what it’s called) and upgrade it to the maximum, and then buy all possible arrows, especially poisonous ones. This will greatly simplify further passage. Also, do not switch to ng+ until you replenish your supply of arrows.
10. I tried a bunch of weapons during the game. The most powerful one still seemed to me to be the Sword of Moonlight (get it from Benhart), sharpened with lightning. Before receiving it, I ran with the Drangleic sword and knew no troubles. Bow - first this is the Great Bow of the Allon Knight (it knocks you down well), also sharpened for lightning, and then the Bow of Desire (for the soul of Nashandra). The Ruler's Sword, which many praise, is complete crap, even if you have a million souls. Its only advantage over the Sword of Moonlight is its safety margin - 60 versus 30 of the Moonlight. Shield - Tower shield of the dragon guard. It has 100% protection from physical damage, and elemental protection is higher than any other shield. Before him I ran with the Tower Shield. Armor - I liked Alonna's set. Before them, I ran with Havela’s set. Afterwards, I alternated armor as needed.
Well, that seems to be all that I managed to remember.
