How to unlock the Defeat Seath the Scaleless achievement in DARK SOULS: REMASTERED - Definitive Guide
This battle takes place in the Crystal Cave, which is accessible from the Duke's Archives.
Seath the Scaleless is one of four primary bosses that you must defeat to open the path to the Kiln of the First Flame which leads to Gwyn, the game's final boss. In order to fight him in the Crystal Cave, you must forst encounter him in an unwinnable battle in the Duke's Archives where you must die.
The Duke's Archives are accessed from Anor Londo. Exit the room with the main Anor Londo bonfire and head to the left, through a building with a few Sentinels. You'll follow a path that leads to a long hallway with an Amorored Tusk enemy and eventually pass a second such enemy before reaching a room with a bonfire and a lift. Take this lift up to the next area, make your way past several enemies and up some stairs to reach a second lift. Take this lift up to an area with a small crystalline hallway that leads to the aforementioned unwinnable Seath encounter. You can use a Ring of Sacrifice here to avoid losing your humanity and souls since you must die to progress.
You will revive in a jail area containing a bonfire that cannot be warped from. Kill the enemy standing outside for the key to the cell, then make your way down the spiraling stairs to the bottom of the area. Climb a ladder to get to a platform with a few more enemies and a chest containing the key to the large doors at the top of the area. Follow a linear path back into the main Duke's Archives area and work your way around various levels and use rotating staircases to get to a room with an archer on a high ledge and a lever you can pull to move a bookcase. You'll find the Duke's Archives bonfire on a nearby ledge which can be warped to and from if needed. There is another nearby room with a lever that opens a stairway that you can use to get to the outside courtyard that leads to the Crystal Cave.
This area has several invisible pathways that need to be traversed in order to reach the Seath encounter. You can see the falling snowflakes landing on these invisible pathways in addition to any orange soapstone messages that other players may have left on them to help.
At the opposite end of this area (after the last invisible pathway) is a room full of ManEater Shells. You can engage them one at a time if you want to kill them or you can run past them into the next room to begin the Seath battle. The first time you engage Seath there is no fog wall so enemies can follow you in. If you choose to run past these enemies, save and quit from the menu once the boss battle starts and when you continue, there will be a fog wall to traverse that will keep the enemies out.
Once the battle begins for real, you need to run past Seath and destroy an obvious crystal that will stun him briefly and make it so he can be damaged. I suggest wearing the Cursebite Ring (found in New Londo Ruins) to improve your Curse resistance as Seath will do attacks that can curse you quickly. I generally just tuck myself against his body where one of his tentacles meet his body and attack him from there, healing whenever necessary. This battle is generally pretty easy.
Note that you need to cut off Seath's Tail for a weapon that is needed for the Knight's Honor achievement, so you should consider trying to do that first.
Once you defeat Seath, the achievement will unlock. Good luck!

Once you acquire the Lordvessel you'll be given the task of filling it with the four souls of the great lords of the world so that you can finally challenge the game's final boss. One of these souls is the soul of Seath the Scaleless.
To reach Seath you'll have to traverse through the Duke's Archives and then through the Crystal Cave. From the main Anor Londo bonfire turn left and after passing a couple of guards you'll reach a slope with a fog door leading to the Archives. This is one of the fog doors that will only open after acquiring the Lordvessel.
Inside you'll quickly reach a room with Seath the Scaleless himself, however at this point you'll be unable to beat him and will be forced to die, so plan accordingly. After dying you'll appear in a bonfire strained from others in the Archive's dungeon. Push your way through the rest of the area until you go outside and enter the Crystal Cave, a treacherous place with many paths that are invisible and the only way to locate them is to watch the falling crystal shards. Whenever you see one hitting something mid-air it means there is a path there.
At the end of this area you'll reach Seath again and finally this time around you'll be able to kill him, get his soul and get the trophy.
Check the bosses section for more information on them.
To get to the boss, we must travel to the main bonfire in Anor Londo. If we turn left, we can see a passage into the forest, we head there and find ourselves in the location - the Duke's Archives. Initially, in order for us to have the opportunity to fight the boss, we must DIE when we first meet him. Thus, we end up behind bars and in a new location. We get out by killing the guard near the grate - taking the key. And we go downstairs to take the key to the locked gate. We pick it up, go to the very top, go up the stairs and open the gate.
We will again find ourselves in the Duke's Archives location, carefully study the location, find a fire and a secret wall (a shelf with books). Using the lever, we open the passage in the floor and get to the location - the Crystal Grotto. Turning left, we go down and meet an invisible path. If you look closely, you can see falling snowflakes landing on an invisible path. We carefully walk along it and head to the boss himself. If you go for platinum, then for the Knight's Honor trophy, we will need to chop off the tail of this creature. This is not easy to do, because you need to hit not just the tail, but the tip!!
But there is one trick: in the arena, we can notice a small thin stick (crystal), breaking which, the boss will be unconscious for a while and you can calmly chop off his tail. We bring it to this crystal, and wait for the boss himself to break it. As soon as it is broken, we head to the CENTRAL tail and try to chop off the tail. After successfully cutting off the tail and receiving the “moon sword”, we finish off the boss and get the trophy
