How to unlock the Knight's Honor achievement in DARK SOULS: REMASTERED - Definitive Guide

External image

This achievement hasn't changed from the 360 version of the game even though the original DLC area is included in the remaster. I expected to have to get tail cut weapons and create boss soul weapons from the original game's DLC content, but you don't have to. You just need the original base game's "rare" weapons which I will describe in detail below.

Note that this achievement will require you to play about halfway into the third playthrough as you need three Soul of Sif and access to the Giant Blacksmith in Anor Londo.

Rare weapons fall into a few categories:

Weapons found in static locations

Dragon Crest Shield- found on a corpse near the Undead Dragon in Valley of Drakes
Astora's Straight Sword- found on a corpse near the Undead Dragon in Valley of Drakes
Havel's Greatshield- found in a chest in a room behind an illusory wall in Anor Londo
Dragon Tooth- found in a chest in a room behind an illusory wall in Anor Londo
Dragonslayer Greatbow- found on a corpse in Anor Londo by dropping through a broken glass window in the entrance hall leading to Dragon Slayer Ornstein & Executioner Smough
Black Iron Greatshield- found on a corpse next to the painting in Anor Londo that leads to the Painted World of Ariamis
Velka's Rapier- found on a corpse in Painted World of Ariamis after the Annex Key door
Bloodshield- found on a corpse near the Undead Dragon in Painted World of Ariamis
Effigy Shield- found on a corpse in Tomb of the Giants

Weapons dropped by specific enemies
Some of these weapons are guaranteed drops and some are random drops. You likely will need to farm the appropriate enemies to get all of these weapons.
Increasing your item discovery can help get the weapons to drop more frequently. Consider using the Covetous Gold Serpent ring or the Symbol of Avarice (which do not stack) and having humanity in your counter to increase item discovery.

Black Knight Sword- dropped by sword-wielding Black Knights in Undead Burg, Undead Asylum (second visit), and Kiln of the First Flame (respawning)
Black Knight Greatsword- dropped by greatsword-wielding Black Knights in Undead Parish and Kiln of the First Flame (respawning)
Black Knight Greataxe- dropped by greataxe-wielding Black Knights in The Catacombs and Kiln of the First Flame (respawning)
Black Knight Halberd- dropped by halberd-wielding Black Knights in Darkroot Basin, Tomb of the Giants and Kiln of the First Flame (respawning)
Black Knight Shield- dropped by any Black Knight
Channeler's Trident- dropped by Channelers in the Undead Parish, Depths, and the Duke's Archives (respawning)
Crescent Axe- 100% drop by Patches in The Catacombs, Tomb of the Giants, or Firelink Shrine; sold by Patches upon relocating to Firelink Shrine for 10,000 souls
Crest Shield- 100% drop by Oscar, Knight of Astora in Undead Asylum (return visit).
Demon's Catalyst- 100% drop by Demon Firesage in Demon Ruins
Giant's Halberd- dropped by Sentinels in daylight Anor Londo; sold by Giant Blacksmith for 5,000 souls
Giant's Shield- dropped by Sentinels in daylight Anor Londo; sold by Giant Blacksmith for 10,000 souls (this may not be needed for the achievement)
Izalith Catalyst- 100% drop by Daughter of Chaos in Lost Izalith
Silver Knight Straight Sword- dropped by sword-wielding Silver Knights in Anor Londo
Silver Knight Spear- dropped by spear-wielding Silver Knights in Anor Londo
Silver Knight Shield- dropped by Silver Knights in Anor Londo
Stone Greatsword- dropped by Giant Stone Knights in Darkroot Garden; sold by Shiva of the East for 15,000 souls
Stone Greatshield- dropped by Giant Stone Knights in Darkroot Garden
Grant- 100% drop by Black Phantom Paladin Leeroy in Tomb of the Giants
Sanctus- 100% drop by Black Phantom Paladin Leeroy in Tomb of the Giants

Weapons obtained by joining covenants

Gravelord Sword- join the Gravelord Servant covenant
Dark Hand- join the Darkwraith covenant; also a rare drop by Darkwraiths enemies

Weapons created from boss souls
These weapons can be created by the Giant Blacksmith in Anor Londo and require having the appropriate boss soul and an eligible weapon upgraded to +10

Moonlight Butterfly Horn: requires Soul of the Moonlight Butterfly and any +10 spear or thrusting sword
Crystal Ring Shield: requires Soul of the Moonlight Butterfly and any +10 shield
Quelaag's Furysword: requires Soul of Quelaag and any +10 curved sword
Chaos Blade: requires Soul of Quelaag and any +10 katana
Greatsword of Artorias (Cursed): requires Soul of Sif and any +10 dagger, greatsword, or straight sword other than Broken Straight Sword and Straight Sword Hilt
Greatsword of Artorias: requires Soul of Sif and a +10 Broken Straight Sword or Straight Sword Hilt
Greatshield of Artorias: requires Soul of Sif and any +10 shield
Golem Axe: requires Core of an Iron Golem and any +10 axe
Dragon Bone Fist: requires Core of an Iron Golem and any +10 fist weapon
Lifehunt Scythe: requires Soul of Priscilla and any +10 halberd or whip
Dragonslayer Spear: requires Soul of Ornstein and any +10 spears or thrusting swords
Smough's Hammer: requires Soul of Smough and any +10 hammers or great hammer
Darkmoon Bow: requires Soul of Gwyndolin and any +10 bow
Tin Darkmoon Catalyst: requires Soul of Gwyndolin and any basic catalyst (catalysts don't upgrade)
Great Lord Greatsword: requires Soul of Gwyn, Lord of Cinder and any +10 dagger, greatsword, or straight sword

Weapons that are obtained by cutting specific enemy tails off:

Drake Sword from the Hellkite Dragon in the Undead Berg
Dragon King Greataxe from the Gaping Dragon in the Depths
Priscilla's Dagger from Crossbreed Priscilla in the Painted World of Ariamis
Moonlight Greatsword from Seath the Scaleless in the Crystal Cave
Dragon Greatsword from the Stone Dragon (actually an NPC) in Ash Lake
Gargoyle Tail Axe from the Bell Gargoyles in the Undead Parish or from non-respawing Gargoyles in Anor Londo (note that this is not the weapon they sometimes drop when killed)

As always, refer to http://darksouls.wikidot.com/ for specific information relating to items or locations. This page on the wiki provides full information for all the weapons needed for this achievement.

I can confirm that ghaving all the boss weapons nets you the achievement.

I've acquired all of the weapons, minus Priscilla's Dagger (a friend dropped it for me). I've gone through 2 different lists, twice. Not missing any one from either "complete" list. Achievement still hasn't unlocked. Only thing I can think of, is that I have to get Priscilla's Dagger myself...

..::edit::..
Seems like they need to be all in your possession. Read on the Dark Souls Wiki that they need to be in your inventory, not the Bottomless Box. Loaded up the game, started switching weapons from the Box to my inventory. About halfway through, the achievement popped. So that's the only suggestion I can offer for those who have all weapons, but no achievement. Make sure they're not in the bottomless box.

I feel like I remembered you only needed to hold a weapon at one point to leave an imprint on your character that you have it. Can anyone confirm that you must have all weapons in your inventory at once to get the achievement, or can you just have had them at one point?

On the 360 you just needed to have them at one point. I don't believe it's changed for the remaster.

I didn’t got the weapon from the gargoyle tail and I won the achievement. It’s the only weapon that i don’t have, i managed to playthrough and defeat 3 gargoyles and missed the tail. I believe this weapon is NOT needed, but anyway if one wants to get all possible weapons in this game the gargoyle tail axe will be needed.

Not sure if this is helpful to anyone, but I THINK this achievement tracks through multiple save files. I was at the end of my second playthrough and made a mistake with Solaire and couldn't find my way past Gwyn, so I decided to start a new save file. Halfway through my second playthrough I made a number of boss souls, including the 1-2 I hadn't in my first save file, and the achievement popped, with at least 5-6 weapons still on the list for me in this new save file.

All this to say, if you make a mistake like I did, seems possible to start a new save file and focus on the weapons you haven't made yet.

Guide needs to be updated with the “Grant” and “Sanctus” weapons

If you kill Nito before killing Leeroy, he will no longer invade you, so you can’t get the weapons from him, and it will require another play through, you also have to make sure to kill him, and not have him fall off the edge, or you won’t get his weapons as well, and it will require another play through. To get him to spawn you have to place the lordvessel in the altar, but also can’t kill Nito, so it means you CAN NOT just run straight to the tomb of the giants right at the beginning of the game

If anyone can please help me with getting those two weapons so I don’t have to go through everything all over again for a fourth time, just to get those two weapons, it would really help me out

I found the Greatsword of Artorias and Greatsword of Artorias (Cursed) to be very confusing as there is not difference in the naming of these swords, the only difference is the stats. Just a heads up to anyone also confused by this.

I'm not sure what you're asking. If you're asking if all the weapons must be collected within the same playthrough, then the answer is no. You simply must possess all of these weapons and they can (and, unless some are given by a friend, must) be gathered over multiple playthroughs.

If you're sure that you have all the weapons, then I'm not sure what the problem is. People have been having problems with achievements unlocking, myself included (on my 2nd account). You're the first I've heard with an issue with this achievement, though.

I was able to get some achievements to pop on a second playthrough (progression stuff like Ring the Bell or Reach Anor Londo). Spell collection achievements popped once I acquired an 2nd copy of a spell in NG+. Perhaps getting a 2nd copy of any of the weapons in your next playthrough will fix t for you.

Just for clarification, you can upgrade the boss weapons or anything else (crest shield, etc.) and it doesn't affect the achievement. You can use upgraded/changed weapons to ascend to the boss weapons and it doesn't affect the achievement (e.g. I made Ornstein's spear out of an ascended lightning spear). Don't be an IDIOT like me and accidentally ascend the gargoyle tail ax to the Golem Axe via the Iron Golem's boss soul. Luckily it was my third playthrough so I had an extra Iron Golem soul, but such instances don't count, lol. Upgrade all the basic weapons for the boss soul weapons.

If you use the gold (not silver as that boost is for 20% extra souls)serpent ring it will boost item discovery also have some humanity in the corner of the screen, at least 1 will boost discovery by 50, having max of 10 will get to highest chance of items.

To anyone who has this achievement, how difficult was it to get the particularly rare drops, specifically the Stone Greatshield (2% drop rate) and, even worse, the Channeler's Trident (1% drop rate). I am aware that the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring and 10 humanity can help boost their likeliness of dropping, but when I was farming Souvenirs of Reprisal for the Darkmoon Covenant, I read that Souvenirs only had a 6% base drop rate. Even with the ring and humanity, it still took quite a while to get enough of them.

How long did it take you to get these two weapons once you started grinding for them? Also, do you have to reverse hollowing in order for the item discovery boost in humanity to take effect?

EDIT: Never mind, I managed to get both weapons fairly easily. Now my latest and possibly final challenge is getting that damn Black Knight Greataxe. Does humanity and the ring effect how often this specific weapon drops?

EDIT: Never mind, I got that, too. Sorry for clogging up the comments section.

So I‘m working on the Knight‘s Honor achievement in the Xbox One Version of DSR for a few weeks now and just realized something strange. I‘m currently in NG + and after defeating Sif for the second time I saw that I only have one Soul of Sif in my inventory. At first I thought I might‘ve used it to create a boss weapon already though I was sure I hadn’t, so I checked like 10 times (also inside the bottomless box) and there‘s nothing there. I‘m also 100% sure I haven‘t used it to gain souls (at least definitely not on purpose). So if anyone could help me out and drop a Soul of Sif for me it would be grately appreciated! (Xbox One, level 96. It‘s especially frustrating because I have done every requirement for the achievement up to this point and I‘d rather not start NG+4 (cause you need at least 3 of his souls) If you‘d like I‘d drop anything you want in return except for the items required for this achievement. Thanks!

TL;DR:
I‘m asking for help to get a Soul of Sif in NG + of DSR on Xbox One since I apparently have just one Soul of Sif after defeating him twice.

I've made a google sheet checklist for Knight's Honor, Wisdom of a Sage, Bond of a Pyromancer and Prayer of a Maiden. Slight Spoilers included in the document. It comes with every item needed to get these achievements in a list along with a brief description on how to acquire the item and a link to the items wiki page on Fextralife. You'll need to save the document to your own drive before it'll allow you to start checking things off. You can find the link to it here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IBAR9dAKxKPzW5UA31Mo...

You can actually be summoned by someone and have them drop all the needed weapons and the trophy will pop. It is quite cheap but I'm surprised it actually works so if you have a really generous friend (or someone who can save scum their account by using a USB or the PS+ cloud) you can use this to shortcut getting this trophy. Sadly this doesn't work for the spells needed for the other collectible trophies.

I've had a hard time summoning friends to help with this trophy. Everything was set, bosses still alive, summon range, soap stone etc. Nothing worked out. So I ended up farming this myself.

+1 for the guide here regardless.

The one weapon for this achievement I had trouble getting was for cutting off Priscilla's tail.

As far as I know, Priscilla turns invisible as soon as the fight starts and does not reappear unless you hit her @3 times very quickly. She's fragile, and her health bar also disappears, so its very easy to kill her before you can get her to reappear.

If you happen to be like me and can't cut Priscilla's tail off in one hit like videos show, here's what to do:

have pyromancy flame equipped
have fire storm, fire tempest, or chaos storm attuned and cast it when she goes invisible
it should reveal her

once you can see her again, its easy to strafe around and cut her tail off.

you WILL kill her if you try to cut it off while she's invisible. Don't even try.

Option two, without using pyromancy would be to use a very weak weapon in your 2nd weapon slot to hit at her when she's in stealth. This will allow you to break her out of stealth without doing much damage to her. Switch back to your main weapon when she's visible and attack the tail. If it looks like you're going to kill her too soon, you can always homeward bone out to try again.

To unlock this trophy you are required to hold, at the same time, all of the considered 'rare' weapons of the game. This includes all the weapons forged with bosses souls, all of the weapons acquired by cutting the tail of specific bosses and other ones. Shields included in these also count for the trophy. Note that not all weapons that use Twinkling Titanites to upgrade are required for the trophy.

This is the trophy that will require you to play the game at least two full times and a half, solely because one of the bosses soul (Great Grey Wolf Sif's) is required to forge three different weapons.

You can achieve this trophy by getting all weapons through multiple characters' games.
For the Knights Honor trophy, it says you can get the weapons on any amount of characters. I got every weapon amongst my 4 characters and it didn't unlock, so I went and researched about it and it seems to be a glitch. You're supposed to get all weapons on a single character to get the trophy, but sometimes it will glitch and allow you to get them amongst any characters. Thanks [PS3T]kira!

Below is a list of everything required for this trophy along with the information on how to obtain it. Big thanks to Blood_Runs_Cold for compiling most of the information in here!

If you want, you can use the printable checklist from HERE made by Birr1978 to help you keep track of what you have.

I have not finished the remastered version yet, but I did 100% the original 360 release of this game.

From what I have seen, it is the exact same process as the original Xbox 360 release. You do not need the DLC weapons for this, just the bas game weapons.

There are plenty of lists and guides for this achievement, however I did not see any mention this.

If you have a friend who already has this achievement, or has a few weapons you do not have, as long as they are within a certain level range within yours (I believe it's within 10-20 levels between each other. Basically as long as you can join their game) they can drop the missing weapons and you should get the achievement. My friend dropped me a few weapons from his playthrough I some how missed and it still counted fo rmy achievement .

The Channeler's Trident took me literally 15 hours to farm because the drop rate is so low, so if you can, I would find someone online who has it to drop it for you.

when you make the celestial and cursed sword of Artorias, keep in mind that they will be listed as “great sword of Artorias” in the giant blacksmith’s crafting menu with all the necessary materials (that is, for the celestial one, I upgraded the hilt of a straight sword + 10 + soul of Sif , and for the damned I upgraded a snake great sword + 10 + soul of Sif)

I will add that in order not to waste time on the third playthrough, upgrade the necessary weapons to +10 for weapons from the souls of Sif and Gwyn before the end of the second playthrough. On the third, all that remains is to kill Sif and run to the blacksmith with whom you can simply exchange souls..

I would like to add that you don’t make my mistakes if you want to assemble all the equipment yourself. There are two weapons from the souls of Smough and Ornstein (Smough's Hammer and Dragonslayer's Spear). These are two bosses that you fight at the same time. So, the soul falls only from the one who was killed last. And usually they kill Ornstein first, since it’s much easier, and in the end we don’t get his soul. Be careful.

We encountered the following problem: if a weapon is sharpened, then the other player does not see it + the difference in levels should not be more or less than 10% of the summoner’s level.

an already made sword can be safely used again. For example, at ng+3, to forge a sword from Gwyn’s soul, I needed any straight sword at +10, but it wasn’t in my inventory, I successfully converted Artorias’s sword into a regular straight sword +10.
So, the game already counts weapons once made not by the fact of their existence, but by the fact of their creation.

Paladin Leroy only appears if you are in human form. If it doesn’t appear, at the exit from the Crypt of Giants to the boss Nito (where there was a yellow barrier before receiving the great bowl), make an exit - off. network mode (or on), restart again and change back. We go towards Nito and Leroy will appear.

I don't know about "without a semi-circular axe", I only had it with him. So the last action before platinum for me is killing Patchwork) But this is in boxing, if anything

Please note that collecting all rare weapons is counted on one character, i.e. weapons must be collected in the inventory of one character and only then will the achievement be counted. The same applies to other similar collection achievements: "
Wisdom of a Sage, Bond of a Pyromancer, Prayer of a Maiden, Prayer of a Maiden
