How to unlock the Mass Ruckus achievement in Darksiders II - Definitive Guide

Mass Ruckus - Equip elite items into all slots (10 gs).

This achievement is unlocked by equipping Elite level (PURPLE) items in all of Death's Equipment Slots. So - Primary, Secondary, Chest, Legs, Hands, Feet, and Talisman - Must all be Elite (Purple) items.

One tricky part here is that the named weapons, will not count as Elite. For instance, early on in the game you are given a named pair of primary weapons and a secondary weapons (can't recall the exact name). I consider these to be "Legendary Weapons," and have a orange/yellow border around them. They normally have a backstory to them, and some special effects. For some reason, even though these are often better than the elite level items, they will NOT trigger the achievement. So, make sure that every item is Elite (purple), and the achievement is yours.

*Update* 9.6.12
Just wanted to post a few tips for obtaining the Elite (Purple) Items.

The EASIEST way to earn this achievement would be to purchase them from one of the Vendors in the world. Vendors include: Vulgrim, Alya, Muria, and Osteogoth. All of these characters will carry some form of the Elite (Purple) items on them, though at any given time they may not have an Elite (Purple) item for sale to equip in the slot you are seeking. However, the Vendors' inventories are constantly changing, so if they don't have what you need at that given moment, come back later. I've yet to have any problems with currency in this game (not having enough, that is) and I've never done any farming or anything like that. Just pick up all the items you can and sell everything you won't use.

After this would be Quest Rewards and Boss Drops. Most of the times, a boss will drop at least an Elite (Purple) item, if not a Legendary (Orange) item. Also, you will get Elite (Purple) items as rewards from some of the more central quests.

Lastly, you have random drops and chests. Sometimes, a random enemy will drop a Elite (Purple) item, or you will find one inside of a chest. However, this is nothing but a pure chance of luck. I've yet to see any equations or algorithms differentiating the drop % of Elite (Purple) items. So, this would be the longest and most tasking way to earn this achievement.

Hope these will help you out a little bit. Just trying to expand on the original solution.

Good luck and happy hunting!

It's the same as wow...

Blue < Purple.

Only difference is that they called the purples Elite in Darksiders instead of Epic like in WoW.

To clarify the "Legendary" status items, each piece of equipment has a colour border surrounding its thumbnail in the inventory. In order of rarity it goes

Grey (common) < Green (uncommon) < Blue (Rare) < Purple (Elite) < Yellow (Legendary).

As said in the main text, legendary equips do not work, and you can identify them by the yellow border surrounding the weapon icon. Examples would be any weapon you gained from defeating the monsters in Thane's subquest (Gorewood, for example) or the scythes you are given for having a Darksiders 2 save (Chaosfangs).

To get this trophy you must equip an elite (purple) item in all seven of Deaths item slots at the same time. This means you need an elite item for your Scythes, Secondary Weapons, Shoulders, Armor, *Gloves, Boots, and Talisman slots.

If you try to equip a higher quality item such as a legendary or possessed item in a slot, along with elites, the trophy will not unlock. The items must be of the elite tier, no higher, no lower.

The level of the elite item does not impact the trophy in any way, so you can have lower level items saved for later if you are concerned about getting this early on. You should have absolutely no problem completing this trophy if you play through the entire game. If you are struggling to find an item for a specific slot you can go to one of the vendors and purchase them as well.

There are six different tiers of items in all, starting with the the lowest tier (common) to the highest (legendary):

  • Common (White)
  • Uncommon (Green)
  • Rare (Blue)
  • Elite (Purple)
  • Possessed (Orange)
  • Legendary (Yellow)

There are six types of clothes in the game

Regular(white)

Unusual(green)

Rare (blue)

Elite(purple)

Possessed(orange)

Legendary(yellow)

In order to get a trophy, you need to equip an elite item in each slot, if at least one of them contains, for example, a legendary or another non-elite trophy, you will not get the trophy, so I advise you to get the trophy as quickly as possible in order to forget about it and not return to it.
