How to unlock the The Mad Queen achievement in Darksiders II - Definitive Guide

Story related, cannot be missed.

You will find this achievement rather simple once you enter Shadow's Edge. From the portal, simply head down to the Black Throne. Upon your entrance, head through the door, then use the door on the right to ascend a set of stairs. At the top, Death will enter a cutscene where Lillith will make herself known. After you finish speaking with her you will gain an update for the Voidwalker (called the Phasewalker) and this achievement.

Note: This is where you get the Phasewalker achievement featured below.

Anyone else notice the obvious nod to Borderlands here? The mad queen is named Lillith and she gives you the Phasewalker. The Siren character's name in Borderlands was Lillith and her ability was called Phasewalking. Cute Vigil, cute.

Ummmm...when I completed this quest no achievement popped for me. Neither this one or the one for getting Phasewalker. WTF.....

Whoa that sounds like a serious glitch in the game. I know a lot of people are finding many bugs in general and with achievements. Haven't heard about this one before though. What happened when you first met Lillith?

Everything went according to plan. She spoke to me, told me what was up, and upgraded my Voidwalker. We got finished talking and the screen told me that I completed the Mad Queen quest. Then nothing. Then still nothing. It was just those achievements though as I was able to pop 2 or 3 achievements soon afterward for finding all of the pages and gnomes.

@ScramblesDK - Thanks for the insight, it was very interesting and something I didn't have a clue about (always up for more knowledge). However I'm gonna stick by my laurels on the Borderlands reference given the Phasewalker item / skill tie-in (I doubt there's any mention of such things in a religious text ;).

On the note about the tie in with borderlands, I felt the entire game felt like borderlands at times, especially down to the music. Or maybe I just haven't played many RPG's and they are really all that way? You know, if it ain't broke...

I always felt that this achievement was meant to be more involved but I bet THQ was running out of time and money so they just cut the entire side quest.

Very strange indeed. I would make a post on Vigil's official forums on the game located here - http://community.darksiders.com/forum/viewboard. Im told Vigil is using these posts to determine what needs patching. I've used it when I hit the game ending glitch in the Black Stone.

Random note regarding your tie in of Lilith; Lilith is widely known as a female demon. One who was, according to some, the first wife of Adam. After refusing to be submissive to Adam, she left him and mated with the archangel Samael (who happens to be a part of this game), and refused to enter the garden of Eden since.

Not a religious buff, trust me, however I studied religions and comparative civilizations and wanted to shed some light on your Lilith note. This, in fact, may not be tied into Borderlands at all ;)
