How to unlock the Quite Proper achievement in Darksiders III - Definitive Guide

Wicked K is encountered after completing all 100 waves of the crucible without dying or stopping. You're welcome to pause the game, but you cannot stop when Targon asks if you would like to (he will ask you a lot). I honestly didn't find this to be too terribly difficult, but here are some general tips:

* Bump the difficulty down to 'story' before you begin to make things way easier. I also recommend the classic playstyle if you aren't already using it. This makes a big difference.

* I started this DLC after completing the game, rescuing all of the humans, maxing out my whip, finding all of both health upgrades, and upgrading several of the Enhancement.

* I only used the whip (default cn_X attack) with the flame hollow for the entire thing, but feel free to experiment or use your preferred setup, it's really not as hard as you'd think it might be, especially on the 'story' difficulty.

* My recommended enhancement for the whip is the 'Balanced Azazel'. This will come pretty close to giving you infinite wrath which you can spam almost every wave to your heart's content. I also had the 'Balanced Enoch' gem slotted into one of my weapons as it passively generates your Havoc bar. This helps out tremendously. If you don't have either of these then you should still be fine, but you may want to hold off and save this DLC until after you're done with the game.

* I had my whip maxed all the way out at +10, and considering the last 25 waves or so are against endgame enemies, this is highly recommended ( like I said earlier if you prefer a different weapon and have it +10 then I'm sure that would be fine too).

* Make sure that you have a few Undying Shards in your inventory before you start this and go ahead and use one before you even talk to Targon. This will make sure you will stand back up if you happen to get killed.

* Highly related to the last point: I recommend getting all of the health upgrades and saving all of the humans before you do this. This will allow you to hold 6 Nephilim's Respite and give you a greater chance of getting a green lurcher, which will allow you to heal as much as you want.

* Lastly try to find a good podcast, some music, a youtube video, something to keep you entertained for about an hour and a half. There isn't much story to be had here (unless you just love the crucible character from the previous games). This can be somewhat of a grind and it's always nice to have something else going on.

You will unlock the following achievements along the way:

First starting the DLC:
Darksiders IIIMy Evil TwinThe My Evil Twin achievement in Darksiders III worth 45 pointsMeet Targon

After Wave 25:
Darksiders IIIImpressive! The Impressive! achievement in Darksiders III worth 53 pointsDefeat Gor

After Wave 50:
Darksiders IIIIncredible! The Incredible! achievement in Darksiders III worth 116 pointsDefeat Sherhaal

After Wave 75:
Darksiders IIIAmazing! The Amazing! achievement in Darksiders III worth 119 pointsDefeat Rastion

After Wave 100:
Darksiders IIIApocalyptic! The Apocalyptic! achievement in Darksiders III worth 123 pointsDefeat Urul

Finally, the crucible is a really good way to grind out a couple of the last achievements you would unlock in the main game. For every 1000 score you get in the crucible you get a crucible token. These token can be used to buy all sorts of things from Targon. He sells Angelic and Demonic Artifacts for 8 a piece (an infinite amount), so this is a good thing to spend your tokens on if you still need to get 5 balanced enhancements.
Darksiders IIIBalance in all thingsThe Balance in all things achievement in Darksiders III worth 106 pointsUpgrade 5 Enhancements to Balanced

Also, with the Balanced Enoch enhancment I mentioned earlier, you can grind out quite a good amount of Havoc kills here, especially on the waves that are just skeleton enemies.
Darksiders IIIBeast ModeThe Beast Mode achievement in Darksiders III worth 87 pointsDefeat 666 Enemies While in Havoc Form

Hope you all found this guide useful, feel free to message me or leave a comment if you need any more assistance. As I've said a few times, this really isn't super hard, even if it is rather grindy.

Thanks for the descriptive guide! I was wondering if something is wrong in my game, in that I do not receive any Crucible coins after accepting rewards and walking away. I've gotten to level 75 a couple times and still no coins. Do J have to beat Wicked K first?

I think it might be a glitch, I was going to buy some armor so I could upgrade it to get one of the new achievements, and it wasnt giving me any either.

A bit late to the party I know. So this is my final achievement, I left it last for obvious reasons. I have cleared level 75 and got the achievement much earlier on, but now when I finish that wave, I do not get offered the option to carry on, and even the option to play waves 75 to 100 are always greyed out at the start, I know I have to do all waves in one session, but I have cleared up to wave 75, 3 or 4 times now so getting tedious, anybody else with similar issue and a fix??

To be able to participate on waves 76 through 100 you have to have killed Wrath in the story. Probably you are going through an Apocalypse playthrough and sadly you need to reach that far on the story and get a dialog from Vulgrim.

Thanks for the response, I will investigate this if I get a chance, see if its not too late, enjoyed the game but not sure enough to go through again on Apocalyptic 🤣

Update 01/08/23... I could not bare the missing achievement. The advice about the missing dialogue was spot on. I had indeed not gone far enough on that playthrough. Then doing 100 levels was straightforward. Final boss fight wierd and a bit of an anti climax but in a good way. Thanks for the advice on here.

I was on level 60 when finished the game and started this on STORY difficulty. 26 health and 20 strength, the rest Arcane.
(EDIT after Apocalyptic finish: After 20 health you get only +10-15 HP / 1 attr. point, so doesn't worth it, spend for Strength until 26. You get +5-4-3% and that's much more useful. Over 26 (125%) you will get only +2%, so from there I recommend to spend for Arcane.)

I used the Storm Hollow. The wrath - LB + RB - attacks your near surrounding and the more important, it shocks the enemy time to time, so they can't attack properly, very usefull!

I used only the main weapon the "Barbs of Scorn". It makes an attack around you, so defend you many times from a back attack, but you can use any if you want. It was on level 10.

On main weapon put BALANCED FAFNIR, with as many souls as you can! It gives you +1% damage for every 3000 souls in pocket, and on hit 100% Melee Damage Reflected Back on Attacker. I had 240k souls at pocket at start and finished with 312k after finished the 101 wave in 1 sitting. This means for 240k souls I got +80% damage at start!!! If you die the souls will wait on the arena, so you can pick them up before the new start! No risk! (You can found Fafnir enhancement at angel Usiel, after killing Lust - boss at cargo dock) Title Update: Unfortunately gave a maximum 40%

I used these enhancements on any weapon (for passive capability - second line):

Balanced Enoch, on max level it gives you 18% Amount of Havoc Generated every minute, very important! Only 6 minutes from 0 to FULL!

Balanced Leviathan, on max level it generates +96 health points every minute, very important!

Balanced Fortifier, on max level it gives you +20% health
Balanced Obscurus, on max level it gives you +25% Evade Invincibility Window.
Unfocused Azazel - found late - it gives you +6 wrath every minute or 18 on max level - balanced.

You can try this, if you have this upgraded:
Unfocused Juggernaut - found late - it gives you 4% damage reduction or 30% on max level -.balanced.

If you would like to you can get an Undying shard, just in case, but activate before the start! The waves comes in 5 and after a break. You can quite here with the rewards or continue. DON'T GO to Targon immediately! You can wait to regenerate you health and HAVOC! Just a few minute, when both ready go to him and hit B.

Sometimes you can do this while in wave. Sometimes a part of the arena lift, climb there - so you can hit them when climbing to you. The other thing, the enemy will spawn on the other platform, but they can't jump off. So if it's the only enemy in the arena, you can regenerate your health and HAVOC again if necessary. On level 96 or 97 there is a Lava Brute - or what - and two small. Kill the two small. and then aim with LT and just run around, keep your distance - regenerate health and HAVOC - and hit him with Salvation when ready to go. After this round there is a weak wave with skeletons, just to inform you.

Always run around, so see what's coming and from where. Don't forget to use LB+RB! One of the 5 wave always a "weak" wave with skeletons or so, usually the first. Almost every 5 waves you will get one Nephilim's Respite (+ life refill). I got max 6 and never went below 4. Always the 5th wave is the hardest and the 25/50/75/100 with big boss(es), so keep your HAVOC for them.

You have a break after 100, so you can regenerate your health and HAVOC. The wave 101 is not as hard as 90/94/95/100.

You get 1 token for 1k points. If you do only 25 waves (1-25; 26-50; 51-75; 76-100) you get around 5-9k points, but if you do it one sitting you get multiplier for bigger points. I got 75k for the 101 waves. Previously I stopped at every 25 and with the 4 games only get 28 tokens...

If you struggling, keep playing the first 50 waves and get 20-30 tokens for 1 round, take it, start a new from 1 and after the second round you can buy the Chaos armor for 60 tokens, which gives you +10% damage, +10% damage reduction, +20% health. That's a good help! This armor can be used in the main game, even in a NEW GAME! I made it without it (but bought after the 101 waves and started the game on Apocalyptic).

It takes between 1-2 hours to complete 100 waves in one sitting (roughly 1 minute per wave). Here are some tips that helped me:

Set difficulty to Story
You need to progress in the normal game to unlock different tiers of the crucible. To unlock all 100 (101) waves you need to have defeated Wrath in the Scar. Defeating Pride is optional.
Level up using NG+ mode and upgrade your abilities (health, strength, arcane). As others have stated, the buff you get for each ability point decreases after a certain point. If you get all 3 abilities at lvl 25 or higher this should be plenty and make the crucible easy, but more buffs is always better.
Equip and upgrade an armor (Chaos armor is best)
I used my havoc form on most boss waves, to speed things up and to play it safe
I mostly (almost exclusively) used my whip (+10) with balanced Chaos enhancement (life drain!), only needed one use of the nephilim's respite during my 100 waves

Since wave 100 and 101 are both boss waves you want to think ahead. There is a small parcours section between these boss waves (don't try to float/storm hollow to Targon...), so if you have the enhancements for wrath and havoc gain per minute equipped (Enoch and Azazel) and are patient, you can use this pause to fill them both up. Or you can choose to not use wrath or havoc on boss wave 100 (Urul). He is a pretty easy boss and telegraphs his attacks, making dodging easy.

the wicked K fight is interesting, but no spoilers. After defeating him you get an item to upgrade one of your weapons to +11. A nice bonus, but not very useful since you probably have completed all of the game already.

*Missable*

You must complete all 100 Waves in one sitting to reach Wave 101 for this achievement. Make sure that you load your Crucible run on a save where you've defeated Wrath (the Scar battle) otherwise Targon will stop your Wave progress avoiding this achievement completely. Be sure to have these enhancements equipped to the weapons noted as they're proven to be very useful during my Crucible run.

  • Balanced Chaos (+6% Damage from this weapon returned as health, +200% Havoc Form duration) Equip on Barbs of Scorn.
  • Balanced Obscurus (+50% Havoc generated with this weapon, +25% evade invincibility window) Equip on Lance of Scorn.
  • Balanced Fafnir (+100% damage reflected back to attacker) Equip on Mallet of Scorn; not needed to attack to generate as it is a passive.
  • Balanced Leviathan (+96 health regenerated per minute) Equip on Salvation; not needed to attack to generate as it is a passive.

If you have yet to find any of these enhancements, please follow this thread for their specific locations.

Once you've beaten Wave 100, Targon will give you your final reward and offers you to one last challenge. Use the Bards of Scorn to traverse to the fighting area. Use this strategy: use Storm Wrath (+) then go Havoc mode (+) to work on Lord Killington's first stage of health. Once his health reaches 50%, he will split into multiple versions of himself as this animation-scene will reset your Havoc mode. Just use the Wrath shard and a Havoc shard method again to finish him off. For your trouble, he will give you a Wicked Adamantine which will allow a weapon to be upgraded to +11 if already maxed at +10.

Remember, it's ok if you've died but used an Undying Shard as it triggers automatically, this will only impact your score overall and not the achievement. Also, you will not get a score penalty if you used Nephilim's Respite ().

You need to go through 100 waves of enemies at once and at the end agree to the final battle

Completed after killing Wrath on story difficulty. To get the trophy there is no need to beat the game on maximum difficulty, as some people write here.

Only by defeating Wrath (for the second time) in the main game will you unlock access to 75-100 waves in the arena. Therefore, there is no point in going through this add-on earlier.

Advice:
  • 1. On the 2nd or 3rd playthrough of the main game, you get all 4 additional weapons in the main game.
  • 2. Complete 3 DLCs - you get super armor and all the extras for all types of weapons. Upgrade everything to the maximum (only the 3rd playthrough will have enough resources).
  • 3. We go through the main game until we defeat Wrath a second time and enter the arena. With upgraded armor and weapons, there will be no problems in passing at any difficulty.
Good luck getting the trophy.
