How to unlock the BFA achievement in Darksiders III - Definitive Guide

DLC EDIT UPDATE: Many are reporting that this achievement is now bugged. According to the tracker it is still unlocking for some people, but the bug appears to be common nonetheless. Hopefully THQ addresses and fixes this.

The BFA achievement requires you to unlock all other achievements to unlock this.

-It does not have to be done in one single playthrough.
-If it doesn't unlock right away, save the game and turn off your Xbox and relaunch the game. (Seems to be the case most often)
-You don't have to find literally everything such as angelic artifacts to unlock this. There are a total of 6 Essence of Chosen along with 72 Angelic and 72 Demonic Artifacts in the game. You only need 5/6 to get the achievement, so you can miss a few and still unlock everything.
-You can get every single achievement in a single playthrough on apocalyptic difficulty, although "For Whom the Bell Tolls, "Demon Meddler" and "A Parting Gift" are missable. If you do miss them start a new game on Story difficulty and remember that you only need the 4 hollows to do the Abraxis sidequest, so as soon as you beat Gluttony go to the Scar without worrying about Sloth or Wrath.

As far as apocalyptic difficulty goes the biggest tips I can give are:
-Don't dodge too early. Dodge right before their attacks come in contact with Fury, not when their attack animation starts,
-Buy a lot of fortification shards. These greatly reduce the damage you take and allow you to survive most boss fights easily.
-If you die during a boss fight when you used shards, close out of the game as soon as Fury does her dying animation and before the black loading screen. This will prevent the game from autosaving and allow you to keep your items, as grinding for them can become a huge pain.
-Save all the humans as soon as you get all 4 hollows. The rewards you get for saving them are nearly game breaking and make some of the later bosses a joke.
-Keep most attributes balanced.
-Defeat all the Chosen bosses as soon as you can and use "The essence of chosen" to max out your enhancements. There are 6 total Essences you can get per run, and only 5 are needed for an achievement.
-If you are doing apocalyptic on your second playthrough and just need that achievement, its possible to fight Pride right away as soon as you meet her (which is available after you have the first hollow). This will probably be patched, but it pretty much allows you to beat the game by only fighting her and the final boss if you feel confident in your dodging abilities.

Edit: Appears the early pride fight is patched. Perhaps playing offline with an older patch could get around this.

DLC Edit: With the introduction of DLC, a few extra options have become viable. First of all, you can now get unlimited Essence of Chosen via the crucible. New game plus was also introduced and this could likely give you a much easier way of beating Apocalyptic as you will already be fairly leveled up and equiped from previous runs. Just make sure you change your difficulty to Apocalyptic before you land the finishing blow on the final boss.

Unless its been patched you just go through the portal after talking to her for the first time and then walk up to her door.

Pride skip didn't work for me, had to do the whole thing. There are still a few areas in the scar you can skip to get to wrath faster.

Achievement didn't unlock for me either had to quit as mentioned by others and it popped when I hit continue.

It's probably broken by last update. My percentage shows 93% and no BFA. I've read about the same situation on Steam and PS4, so it seems it's not a platform related problem. Also on readit Community Manager of Gunfire Games (VertVixen) has written, that they are looking into it now.

I think the achievement now tracks your points earned for the game, not which achievements you earned off the base game: mine unlocked during my first Crucible run, which I did before I faced Pride. The Crucible achievements did get me over the 1k bump, which is when the achievement triggered.

I still have the two grind heavy achievements left to do and yet i got this achievement ~2 minutes before i finished my first playthrough.

Maybe the buggy achievement is somehow triggered because i did my very first playthrough on Apocalyptic difficulty?

A note: this achievement could be glitchy that it does not unlock when everything else is done; I dash boarded to start a different game, and then restarted Darksiders III, and then the achievement unlocked soon, before the menu page was loaded.

This achievement unlocked when I completed my first run (on apocalyptic) and while still missing 3 of the base game achievements. But I had done 4 of the DLC ones. So I assume it indeed counts total achievements and unlocks when you hit the 49 mark and not simply all the base game ones.

Just a note regarding the DLC: it seems like you unlock this whenever you get to 49 achievements won, I popped this during the crucible, and am still missing 2 achievements from the base game.

Mines also unlocked via the DLC, at exactly 49 achievements unlocked. I'm guessing the requirement is having 49 achievements unlocked regardless of it being the base game or DLC, since the original game only had that many achievements.

Bug note: Many gamers have been reporting that this achievement is a bit buggy as I have experienced myself. Once the credits roll and you're back on the main menu. Close the game out then relaunch it. Continue with your game and once Fury respawns, the achievement will unlock.

Glitched trophies: a lot
It’s strange that the platinum card says no, although on the same playstationtrophies org the road map says “Glitched trophies: Many.”
What kind of trophies that didn’t appear are people complaining about on foreign sites: trophies for difficulty levels, upgrading improvements, upgrading things, saving 20 people, spending 50 points.
What didn't work for me:
Complete the game on Apocalyptic/Normal difficulty . In the finals I received a trophy only for “beating the game on any difficulty.” Fortunately, I’ve already learned from glitchy trophies, so as I progress through the game, I sometimes make backup saves (which I advise you to do in this game). So before the final boss there was a copy of the save on the flash drive. By replaying the final battle, I received my well-deserved trophies.
Spend 50 stat points . I only came to my senses in the postgame, when I was collecting all the trash. The level was 57, all the points that were pumped in, but there was no trophy. I copy the save before the boss fight. Level 46, I break all the accumulated souls, it becomes level 55, I distributed all the points between skills. No trophy. I remember that Vulgrim can reset everything. I reset, get my 50-odd points, pump in again. 1, 2, 3...10, 11, 12 ding trophy. Where is the logic here, I don’t know, and is it worth looking for it in glitchy trophies.
Save 20 people . After receiving the trophy for 15 people, I began to count how many more I found... I counted two. I looked all over the video guide, there was no one, I found everyone myself. Ultein, who gave me this medal for saving people, only confirmed that all 20 people were saved. “Well done for saving everyone, you deserve the last improvement, thanks for your help.” I received the trophy in the new game when I saved the first three. Well, it turns out that the statistics took into account only 17 of those saved on the first playthrough, and assigned three to the trophy only in the second playthrough. And thanks for that, I didn’t have to look for everyone again.
Increase the Nephilim's deferment pool 4 times . I realized too late that I didn’t receive this trophy. All 4 upgrades are easy to find, so everything was found by the final boss. And it's not in the game anymore. Start the game again. OK. I take the first nearby upgrade, after a half-hour speedrun... and ding. Yes, the statistics glitched again, and I got the trophy when I took 5 upgrades.
The problem is not that widespread, and most people get platinum without problems. But there are some lucky ones like me. Be careful.

I would advise you to first go through on normal, knock out the maximum number of trophies, and then just go to the apocalypse through “New Game +” pumped up and prepared, without being distracted by anything...

It is also easy to miss the trophies associated with collecting 30 pieces of splits, debris and other things. In particular, I was unlucky on the 5th fragment of adamantine, since its enemy, the carrier, fell into the abyss, and this fragment remained there. There was no way to pick it up, the snake hole didn’t help, the data wasn’t updated, be careful.

be careful with the glitch, I lost the portal through which to go to the final boss, I found out about this at the end of the game, I had to go through it again

As of June 30, 2021 , the glitch with duplication of absolutely any picked up items works. I used it when completing NG+ on Apocalyptic difficulty. With its help, I quickly ran through the game and easily took out all the bosses. He cloned absolutely everything that came to hand - lurchers, all existing fragments, adamantine, and so on. As a result, with the help of all this, I pumped up the level to 300, all weapons to level +10 (standard is only 3 weapons to level up to +10), balanced all improvements for weapons (standard only 5 improvements), all costumes, but only up to level 3, then didn't bother.

To fight bosses, I used a fortifier fragment (farmed 500+ pieces) + a chaos fragment + with upgraded weapons, you can increase the time spent in the form of chaos up to 200%. With such a set, not one boss will do anything. Before the battle, we use a fortifier to reduce damage, immediately use the form of chaos, when it’s over, use a fragment of chaos and transform again, and so on until you finish it off.

The glitch is working. But I encountered another problem. Having pumped up my character to level 100500, I simply could not defeat anyone at all. The enemies seem to level up along with you. Everyone starts to one-shot you, and the bosses become completely unkillable. Tried to kill Lust. He kills me with any blow, and in 2 bursts of rage I only took off 5 percent of his health. In short, you need to make a separate save in the cloud, then farm level 50, 1 million exp and 500 items for trophies. Then rollback the save.

Don’t even pump your character up to level 100 with a glitch; halfway through the game you’ll just die with 1 hit from us and inflict a small level.

A tip for casuals like me to save a lot of time (100% - 58 hours, I could have done it in 25 if I had started with dupil from the very beginning):
1. All the bugs still work, and don’t be afraid to use them; all items, even blocks, are knocked out in the crucible, just consider it a significant time saver.
2. Level 300 boosts strength by 2.5 times (100,102,100), enemies began to be killed only a little faster, in principle, the apocalypse could have happened at level 35 (I reached the scar in the second playthrough at this level), but with hint number 3!
3. In the game, the things that make the game easier to complete are weapon upgrades, upgrade upgrades, and armor. Therefore, collecting all kinds of additional ingredients is very necessary, but it is better to combine the ingredients in bulk to save time.
4. From the guardians you can get 4 more weapons and the best armor in the game. Even if you don't use these weapons, the passives from the upgrades still work, so you can build a set of 10 upgrades.
5. For a long time I was looking for which improvements were better, but in the end I downloaded everything, and inserted everything related to health and chaos. An interesting improvement turned out to be that it returns damage to enemies after their first hit, subsequent ones are canceled, since the damage was dealt, this will stun enemies, and you can tank almost any enemy.
6. Along with the improvements, any boss was killed on the first try and with one use of chaos (it is enough for 75% of the health of most bosses)
7. Text guides for a detailed walkthrough are very slow, and as practice has shown, almost all of them are incomplete; it is better to run around with pride before the second meeting and collect everything that is missing.

There is a great glitch in the game for duping items.

The essence of the glitch is the endless selection of objects lying on the floor.

Stand in front of the objects in the game and go to the main menu, then go to the settings and AT THE SAME TIME press circle + triangle (to understand what happened, you will be thrown into the main menu, at the top there will be a confirmation window that you want to reset the settings, but using the d-pad you can switch menu items) point to “load game” (third from the top) and press the cross. Then load the save (press the cross again) and confirm. Next, you will still see a reset confirmation window at the top. Once you load into the game, press the touchpad and press it again.

Your buttons are not working right now , , , , Options, Circle and all D-pad buttons.

Approach the desired item, press the touchpad, then start spamming the circle, you can pick up the item as much as you like, the main thing is not to press the touchpad again, otherwise the item will finally be picked up.

To solve the bug, go to the nearest autosave and turn off the game, then simply continue in the menu.

Another good tip for beating the game with this glitch. Collect shards that restore the form of chaos, or collect souls and buy them. With Chaos Form, almost all bosses on Apocalyptic fly away in one use of the form, literally a couple of bosses fly away with two uses of forms. With this, the difficulty of platinum becomes literally 1-2/10

I am attaching a video with a guide: https://youtu.be/aN3sCi__puo
