How to unlock the Soul Reaper achievement in Darksiders III - Definitive Guide
Only souls that you collect from enemies and recover from dying count. pop a bunch of soul crystals worth lots of souls and die to some enemies. I had 75K souls on me when I died. I kept recollecting and dying 10 to 12 times and got my 1 million souls achievement in about 10 minutes.

Just breaking soul crystals doesn't count? Jesus! That sucks! What about people who already finished the game but also broke all soul crystals? That would be such a grind to them.

I did 2 playthroughs so thats always an option as well. Do you have anything to sell? Sell a bunch of stuff and die with the souls on you.

In this video I will show you a fast and easy way to grind out your 1,000,000 souls along with getting your 666 havoc kills. Now I forgot to mention in the video you must die after getting your kills so that the enemies can re-spawn. Just go to another area with enemies and let them kill you or let the enemies that you are killing to fill the meter kill you. Make sure to grab those souls and they will all add up. Now the enhancement I would suggest using to make this faster would be the obscurus so that if you max it out it will have 25% havoc generated with desired weapon, and I would recommend putting it on the barbs of scorn.

Hi Drazer, and for the others players : I finished the game normally (in normal difficulty) + the 2 DLCs (in story difficulty), in 39h20, without the top method. I have 250,000 souls. It gives a good idea of the thing.
Would have to play the game 4 times to have this success. But now that I have just read the Texan2K2 method, I won't bother playing the game 4 times ^^
This weekend, I'm attacking the NewGame+ in apocalyptic, I still have 6 successes to have to complete everything.
This Darksiders III is almost as good to do as the 1st in 2012 for my experience, contrary to all the criticisms that I have read for a year and a half ...

Same as all the other suggestions, go to the Cathedral and kite the enemies that continually get summoned back into the Church, and repeat. Things may start getting glitchy around 50-60 enemies, so be aware.
This one can be a bit of a grind. By the time you reach Scar, souls clusters will come in the thousands. Hold at least 75,000 souls and go to an area where you can die easily and are close to a serpent hole. I found it best to go to Haven - North End, go to the right as you run into a dagger-throwing demon and a cloaking one, and let them kill you. Keep collecting the floating soul and repeat until the achievement unlocks.
Souls count does carry over to other playthroughs.

I have accumulated almost 200k rayers worth of different crystals to 35lvl character.
Then I put the save on a flash drive, just in case.
I broke all these crystals into beamers, and died near the respawn several times, immediately taking all the beamers next to the respawn. earned the trophy and booted again from the flash drive.

The easiest way is to collect from 50 souls or higher, and near the checkpoint through the settings do a forced resurrection, then collect souls and so on until the trophy drops

The rays received after killing mobs or collected after at the place of death are counted.
A way to quickly farm - we accumulate the maximum possible number of rays, you can earn all the crystals with rays. Next, near the checkpoint, we do a forced revival, collect the rays and so on until the trophy drops

Everything above is described as “cloudy”, I offer my 5 kopecks: All the souls that are picked up are taken into account, collect lurchers for 100 thousand, break them up. Then just die with this hundred and pick them up again. Until the trophy drops. 2 minutes and that’s it.( or flash drives, glitches...)
