How to unlock the Aerial Predator achievement in Darksiders Warmastered Edition - Definitive Guide

This is a missable achievement. When you are in the level Broken Stair, you will open a chest and find an item called a Beholder Key. use this key on a blue gate that has an eye in the middle of it. Right then, stop and make a manual save, because you may need to reload the save a few times to get this achievement.

After a cutscene, you will be on the back of a griffon and on a rail sequence. you can hold the cn_RT, and "paint" multiple targets by moving your targeting reticle over them, and then hit multiple targets when you release the Right Trigger.

The trick to this achievement, is that anything you paint is auto-targeted and killed even when it is offscreen. So when a swarm flies towards you, just paint them by holding cn_RT and hovering over them, and then release the trigger once they're offscreen and behind you. Your shots will track them and kill them all.

I forgot about the little things when I first started (I had played this game before), so I was glad I was just holding RT swinging around the cursor. Side note, I moved to the achievements and Favorited this one before I started and turned on the achievement tracker for one achievement to watch this track. I think I literally got the achievement on the very last enemy before leaving the cave lol. This is a very tight achievement.

I don’t know if it’s just me but I couldn’t do this for the life of me on the 360 years ago. However I got this on my first try on this version. It felt way easier on this version

This MUST be done in one flight!
The kills don't stack by reloading or a new playthrough.
So make sure you save as soon as you get to the flying part.

I recommend don't auto aim and shot at the big Dragon. Manual aiming and quickfire is killing him much faster.

After 6-8 unlucky attempts, hard restarted my Series X (power button for 10 secs) and tried it on offline (I read maybe helps). I got it on first try... headspin
When arrived to the end of the cave and knocked off the dragon, put the net cable in and the game dashboarded me. Restarted the game, reload my save at the start of the door, and after 10-20 seconds the achievement popped.

Renattooo.
Going offline was for a bug on the 360 where the lock on wouldn't work with offscreen enemies after an update.
Totally unnecessary for the Warmastered edition.

As people mentioned earlier target the flies and bats.
Here are some tips to make this a little easier:
- It's very easy to start a new game and reach this point. It takes only about 1:20 minutes. You can actually get this achievement once you get everything else.
- Once you are done with your first playthrough (must collect Abyssal armour) start the new game with Abyssal armour on 'easy mode'.
- You can collect 4 life stone shards (Library - underwater, Choking grounds - 8 gravestones, The broken stair - underwater and on the bridge). With these things in place, you don't have to worry about your health at all.
- Once you collect the 4th life stone shard from the bridge, from this point, you will need a Beholder's key to open the area before starting this mission. Once you collect the Beholder's Key **save** the game. You'll need to load this save game to restart the mission if you fail.
- The default 'Aim sensitivity' was hard for me. It took a few attempts to calibrate the correct 'X and Y aim sensitivity'. You can change this in the options menu.
It may take quite a few attempts to get this achievement.

Put the aim sensibility at maximum (both exes) and lock on and shoot the angels as soon as they appear in front of you. Attention on the swarms of flies, it's on them that you'll get the kill numbers necessary for this achievement. Of course the angels, bats and demons count as well but, it's the swarms that you'll get many kill at once. They usually pop up on the corners of the screen and far away. Keep yours eyes peeled for them, for me I used to lock on and shoot the ones at the front of the swarm( they escape first) and then the latecomers being that two quick 'paint and shoot'. It may be needed two or more go, for you to antecipate better where and when the swarms pop up.
