By the time you get the Level 50 achievement, and Level 10 with 3 classes, you will have close to 1500 Ramen if you complete most of the 'daily challenges' and ensure you re-roll for the class you're boosting to Level 50.
I'm Level 48 and Lvl 10/10 and have 1445 Ramen, and at the start I didn't really optimise for the challenges, so it's not much extra effort at all if you're going for the 1000G. If not, then you can top up with maybe a 100 Ramen bundle at the end.

i got a legendary item in a fan gift after level 10. not sure if that is normal but no ramen needed

The guaranteed way to get this achievement is to purchase the Starter Pack and equip one of the legendary weapon skins. As of right now it is $15 USD. Otherwise just save up ramen from dailies or hope you get one from a fan gift.
