Unlocked this the second Hoogie became playable for the first time and I switched to Bernard instantly. Guess I got too lucky lol.

I seem to be bordering on an hour. Kinda scared to stop playing now. Been going on for so long it has to be just around the corner, RIGHT?

Funny how I'm looking at every ones comments at how long it took them to wait and then BAM! Hoagie eating a hoagie. I'd say it took 5-10 minutes or so.

Timed it at between 2:30-3 minutes just now.

this must be a random time generated achievement. dunno why but yeah.. that kinda sucks :D

I would assume that the idle animations are randomly drawn every so often. 15 minutes and counting 😅

Actually you don't have to wait for this achievement, you can play normalilly and it will eventually unlock itself. I got it when I stopped for 10 seconds or less.

This is just stupid, I waited a few minutes, moved my character, reloaded the last auto save and still waiting.. Just want to get on with the game!

I started a timer to see exactly how long this took me, was curious after reading some of these comments. Seems like I got it on the quicker side with 2 minutes and 50 seconds!

Can anybody who got it quickly confirm which room they were in?
Also the same if it took a long time.
I’m wondering if which room you are in makes a difference or not.

Took almost 7 minutes on my play thru. Standing next to the chronojohn.

Nearly 8 minutes for me before Hoagie pulled out the hoagie. I thought maybe I was standing to close to the outhouse and had to resist the temptation to move but remained idle and eventually it popped. Like the solution says you will know you are almost there when he repeatedly burps and scratches.

Dudes i timed it out n took me 6min and 30sec while sitting here talking to the tv saying STOP SCRATCHING YOUR BELLY N EAT YOUR HOAGIE!!!!!!! HAHAHAHA

I'm currently sitting at 15 minutes, with no sandwich. :(

Popped after 9 Minutes.

I waited directly after the cutscene about 7min with nothing, then moved the character and setup a stopwatch on my phone, Popped 4min after moving the character, so if it's taking too long consider moving the character by clicking anywhere on the path.

Waited for 3 minutes ..and yeah it popped for me !!

Took me about 6 minutes

I actually didn't know about this achievement, left the game running and came home from doing something with it popped. XD

I thought the game glitched and unlocked this achievement, because I literally did nothing. Hoagie was standing in front of the carriage, facing away from the camera (while I was checking something on my phone), so I didn't even see him eat the sandwich. I came here to check the requirement and laughed, because it actually does unlock for doing nothing, lol.

I would also suggest moving after a while. 27 minutes of nothing, moved him over a couple of feet, and he ate the hoagie 45 seconds later. Or, it just completely luck based.

Was prepared to wait for 15+ minutes due to reading comments, walked away from my controller, and it popped within 30 seconds haha guess he was hungry!

Got mine in about a minute.

Waited for about 8 minutes and nothing but belly scratches and burps. Moved him over slightly and it popped in 19 seconds 🤷‍♀️

When I got there first time I backed out of Y menu and it popped within seconds.

9-10 minutes here so I guess it could have been worse. While I've taken the time to write out this comment Hoagie wolfed down another two hoagies just to spite me. Suddenly he's got an appetite.

This took me over 12 minutes, but as soon as I came here to make the post about how it wasn't working then it popped. That was a painful 12 minutes to sit there tbh, so I had a running stopwatch: https://i.imgur.com/fVqYhGa.png where each "lap" was a tummy scratch or a burp and it still took at least another minute after the screenshot before it happened.

Tummy scratches and burps happen randomly at roughly 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 second intervals...in case anyone wanted to know. The average was almost exactly 20 seconds (19.91). It took me 40-45 times through, so 12+ minutes, but when you find yourself playing Hoagie, just walk away until you hear it pop. It might take a while but it'll happen eventually!

edit: Also to note, I started the stopwatch after the last time I'd moved Hoagie. He'd already burped and scratched a few times but I was impatient and moving him around, so the start of the stopwatch was from the point where I'd left the cursor absolutely still.
