How to unlock the Slaughter achievement in Daymare: 1998 - Definitive Guide
Just some advices:
- Play Daymare difficulty on modern-take mode if you want this to be easier; this way you don't have to deal with magazines.
- As with any other survival-horror games, save your ammo.
Mutated zombies (the fast ones that charge you) can be tricked: you can lure them somewhere, shot them down with the shotgun and then run - most of the time they will lose sight of you and stop chasing you.
Also, I think I had to kill just 2 or 3 Melted Men in the whole game. Example: you can solve the fountain puzzle to go down in the sewers just by killing regular zombies and leaving the Melted Man alive, keeping your distance moving from plate to plate while watching out for his spit.
- Chapter 3 boss fight is a breeze with the magnum, so save your ammo for that (no need to use the magnum before the forest fight). 2 shots each, and they go down, then try to focus on one of the two by shooting him in his weak point on his back. When you're left with only one Castor, you can even switch to the shotgun to fight him, it's really doable.
- Abomination 1 in chapter 5 can be won without shooting a single bullet. Just stay in the middle of the area, wait for him to charge you and then run for the lever that triggers the electric cage trap. Sometimes you won't catch him, but you just need to trap him twice and he's gone, so be patient and take your time.
- Abomination 3 final boss fight is really easy, since you have unlimited magnum ammo near the container to the right.
