Collect a knife, you'll have the option to hold

in order to shave. Once the shave is completed, the achievement will unlock.

Update: It takes longer to grow a beard now, the format is the same though for using it. Must be done in a regular public server, not a private one as with all Achievements.

The guide needs to add you must play as a male character and the approximate length time for the option to shave appears.
These guides by skycptn are very generic and provide little, no, or inaccurate information.

There must be a glitch on this... tried 3 different game servers and would not give option to shave with kitchen knife

Must be a specific type of knife, any ideas which?
Not giving me the option with a hunting knife, kitchen knife or steak knife

OK, so I'm guessing most (if not all) knifes work for this. I finally got it with a steak knife.
When I first picked it up I didn't get the option but after surviving for a day or so it came up

They changed shaving in regards to the beard taking far longer to grow. Prior, the option would be there right away

Anyone know how long this is supposed to take? Sat in game for half an hour and still nothing. Really not sure how much longer this is supposed to be. Do you need to also be moving around or can you just sit afk?

Just to let you know. You must be a male character and it took about 50 minutes to an hour of real time to get the prompt.

A bit annoying, but I finally got the prompt to shave. Took about 1hr 10m total for me. Just glad that it finally popped up in the end.

Can take up to 90 minutes, you must stay alive the whole time, and the only tools that work are knives or bayonets

yep, a bit more than 90min for me.
Ran around for an hour trying to find deer, etc... started running out of food so took shelter for the remaining half hour. Used a bayonet.

Yikes, I just spent 2 hours waiting for my beard to grow only to do a little research and figure out that women characters can't grow beards. Should have gone with my gut feeling but I figured the guides would have said otherwise.

Ya, found a steak knife then just sat in a house for like 30 min until about 1 day game time passes then was able to shave

You'll need a MALE character. Ladies cannot grow a beard.

You can do this on a public or private server, it doesn't really matter. Play for 90 minutes, and you'll then be able to shave when you have a bladed weapon in your hand.

This Game is so hard; sometimes I found lot of weapons and nothing to eat and die cause of getting hungry; or I died cause of the zombies and sometimes I get I’ll and don’t know why! Like to craft a little home or tent but don’t know how; any Tipps? Or a nice crew to help or a server where k can’t get killed?
