How to unlock the Survivor Hank achievement in Dead Age - Definitive Guide

During the course of a playthrough of Dead Age, you'll be able to get everyone in game to join your camp minus three people (so you can get max nine of twelve characters in one run). Of the missing three, two will be from the "random pool" (listed below) and one will either be James or Mary (when you do the mission to save one, the mission to save the other disappears.
The list of random characters is as follows: Bill, Hank, Lydia, Jamal, Jennifer, Larissa, Liz
Hank is one of these random characters, so is not guaranteed to be available as a camp follower. Should he show up, you have three chances for that to happen the first week of the game (Day 1 - 7), and another early in week two (Day 7-14). After that, only one more "random" character will show up late in the game (around Day 28 - Day 32). Therein, if you're going for this achievement specifically, if you don't see the Hank (or Lydia) quest by Day 10 or so, restart your game.
Hank & Lydia
You can meet either Hank or Lydia first, and doing so will open a quest to unlock the other. We'll start with Hank first.
When you first meet Hank, he'll return to your camp, but you won't unlock the achievement for Hank yet. To do this, you'll have to do the "Hank's Better Half" quest you'll receive from him the next Day, to go searching for his wife. Do this quest (Highway Day) and you'll run into his wife Lydia. If you're interested in romancing Lydia, feel free to take the flirtatious options, as this weirdly doesn't affect Hank (their marriage is pretty bad apparently). At this point, the achievement for having Hank reach the camp alive and Lydia reach the camp alive will unlock.
If you meet Lydia first, instead of giving a quest to find her husband Hank right away, she'll immediate ask you on a date (like above). Go on this date, and go along the Highway Day until you get to the diner scene. When you talk to Lydia this time, her husband will come up on conversation. Make sure you answer "Right" to continue the quest and head out to find Hank. Doing so, you'll once again unlock both Hank and Lydia's achievements at the same time.
(And again, feel free to flirt with Lydia in front of Hank, this doesn't affect him at all and allows for the romantic ending with Lydia).
