How to unlock the Survivor Terence achievement in Dead Age - Definitive Guide
During the course of a playthrough of Dead Age, you'll be able to get everyone in game to join your camp minus three people (so you can get max nine of twelve characters in one run). Of the missing three, two will be from the "random pool" (listed below) and one will either be James or Mary (when you do the mission to save one, the mission to save the other disappears.
The list of random characters is as follows: Bill, Hank, Lydia, Jamal, Jennifer, Larissa, Liz
Fortunately, Terence isn't on this list, so you're guaranteed to get an opportunity to add him into your camp every playthrough, starting Day 35.
Terence
You'll get a new quest on Day 34 called "A New Hope". This is a two-part quest: first, you'll need to collect 20 materials and 5 trap parts. Materials can be easily collected if you don't have enough by selling Gas, Gold, Steel, Bullet Casings, Old Weapon Parts, New Weapon Parts, and Engineering Supplies to the store. If you're in need of Trap Parts, you may have to spend a day in Woods Night to collect some. Once you have these items, you'll automatically spend them on the quest, and part two will become available.
On Day 35 (assuming you finished part one of "A New Hope" on Day 34), you'll be prompted to head out of camp with the Sheriff, to blow up the tunnel leading to the Desert Area. BEFORE LEAVING, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLENTY OF MED KITS OR OTHER HEALING ITEMS AND SOME AUTOMATIC RIFLE AMMO ON YOU. This is because the quest will force you to do 10 Desert Day areas, the first three solo, and the rest with a new camp follower, Terence. This area is completely filled with Punk enemies, so doing it solo will be very difficult. Heed my warning.
Starting the quest, you'll clear the tunnel and confront the military, but surprise! An explosion goes off, and you're left stranded. You'll then meet with Dexter, what passes as the Big Bad of the game. He'll challenge you to clear nine areas of the Desert before you confront him in Area 10. And, again, you have to do it (mostly) solo.
The first three Areas, you'll have to fight the Punks alone (glad you brought first aid along now, aren't you?). At Area 4, you'll be joined by Terence, a Punk who has decided to switch sides. Terence has very low Melee skills at this point, but a lot of points in Assault Rifles, hence why bringing extra Automatic Rifle bullets along is a good idea (the high-level Assault Rifle abilities use a LOT of bullets). Continue on with yourself and Terence, and you'll have to fight Dexter and company in Area 10. Dexter isn't too difficult so as long as you have enough healing supplies and Assault Rifle bullets -- it shouldn't be much harder than other Punk fights up to this point.
Upon completing Desert Area 10, you and Terence will return to camp (assuming Terence survives), unlocking this achievement

During the solo mission in the desert when you reach area 5 you will encounter Terrence. Return to camp our defeat Dexter at this point.
