How to unlock the Outrun Evil achievement in Dead by Daylight - Definitive Guide
The hatch is an alternative method of escaping, appearing only when 1 survivor is left in the trial. It is open by default.
Once the hatch is available, you'll need to put your survivor in the downed state (2 successive hits) and then crawl out without being picked up by the killer. This would be very unusual during a normal match, so there are 2 other methods you can use: 1, wait for a killer to give you hatch. This is not a reliable method, as most killers will go for kills whenever possible (it is their objective, after all).
The other way is to stay in the wounded state and then camp the hatch, or entice the killer to chase you nearby. Once you're right on top of the hatch, allow the killer to strike you and then hit immediately to crawl inside and escape. It will even work if you're midjump and the killer strikes you (which is how I inadvertently earned the achievement - the game registered a hit during the jump animation).
Note that when the hatch opens, if the killer finds it and shuts it before you can get in, you will need a key to re-open it.
Also, doing this achievement will net you the following cheevo as well:

Got the achievement. I took a selfie-snapshot. my NPC was crawling, then killer carried me to radius of hatch, dropped the NPC, then hit RB, NPC, exited through the hatch.

Any survivor can unlock this trophy. You need to be in the Dying State and survive the match by getting out through the escape hatch. The hatch spawns when there are more generators finished than there are living survivors remaining or as of Patch 2.7.0, when there is one survivor remaining no matter how many generators are finished. The hatch opens when there's only one survivor left or if a player with the Dull/Skeleton Key item opens it. Hatches opened with the key close again after 30 seconds. The trophy will pop on the results screen post-match if you hatch escape in the dying state. You can unlock this trophy even if you don't own the DLC.
This trophy was made much harder by Patch 2.7.0, because killers were given the ability to close the hatch themselves. Now this trophy is more luck based than skill/tactic since the best method up to this point was to get to the hatch first and let the killer down you on top of it. Now you have to be in a position where somehow the killer lets you crawl through it while bleeding out. I've done it on occasions in the past but it's a rare thing. Also, nicer killers sometimes drop the last survivor on the hatch but again, counting on the generosity of randoms is very luck based.

Repair the required number of generators. It's better to stay in the team, but if it turns out that you are the last one standing, then that's good for the trophy. Find a hatch, stand on it, wait for the killer and let him hit you twice. You fall, he doesn’t have time to catch you anyway and you just jump into the hatch.

Unfortunately, after adding collapse to the game, the killer will most likely close the hatch rather than hit you. Therefore, this tactic may not work.

When the hatch opens, do not jump into it immediately, it is advisable to be already wounded. Wait for the killer to approach you and hit you. After this, calmly go through the hatch. It works even if the killer hits you while jumping into the hatch. It seems that he doesn’t put you down, but if you screamed during the jump, then the game counted the transfer to a prone position.
