How to unlock the Cutting Out achievement in Dead by Daylight - Definitive Guide

Alex's toolbox. Run saboteur for longer hook breaks and maybe some chase perks so you can position yourself better when getting chased.
Find a corner of the map and identify all of the hooks in the area. Sabotage each hook to almost broken status. Wait until no one is being chased and break each hook starting with the furthest from the previously identified corner. Each break is a noise event that the killer sees anywhere on the map so you will likely get their attention quick. Hopefully you get to the last hook before being downed. They will pick you up and you wiggle.
Ideally there will still be a hook where the killer thinks they can get to it or else they will just drop you.

With the new DLC, the breakout perk has actually made this achievement a lot easier as many killers will shoot for the basement and if someone stays with the killer with breakout the wiggler stands a great chance to escape. So the alternative method here is get some friends along with breakout and have them break you out!

Best idea is to bring a toolbox and knock down as many hooks. Then have the killer knock you down then after they pick you up wiggle like no tomorrow with the left stick.

In the years since this achievement was added to the game, wiggling out of the killer's grasp has become so much easier. Here is a build (as of patch 6.4.0) to get this quick and easy:

1) Flip Flop (Ash Williams): While in the dying state, 50% of your recovery progression is converted into wiggle progression when you are picked up by the killer, up to a maximum of 50% total wiggle progression

2) Boil Over (Kate Denson): Your struggling effects on the killer are increased by 80%. You obscure the killer's ability to see hook auras within 16 metres. You gain 33% of current wiggling process when the Killer drops from great heights
- The killer wont be able to see closer hooks, and can even get stuck in door ways which will make you wiggle more

3) Unbreakable (Bill Overbeck): Grants the ability to fully recover from the dying state once per trial. Increases dying recovery speed by 35%
- Allows you to get more Flip Flop progress, and allows you to pick yourself up if the killer decides to slug you

4) Saboteur (Jake Park): Unlocks the ability to sabotage hooks without a Toolbox (takes 2.5 seconds)
- You can sabotage a hook (preferably in a corner of the map or in a building) and try to go down within that hook's radius so that the killer needs to find a further hook to bring you to

I would highly recommend bringing yourself to a map where there is a dense main building. There is a great room on the second story of the Myers house on Haddonfield where it is almost impossible for the killer to hook you with this build.

You could get this achievement done within 2 or 3 games using this build. Best of luck!

Any survivor can earn this trophy but it seems to be designed with Ash's perk "Flip-Flop" in mind. After the killer puts you into the Dying State they have to pick you up and transport you to a hook to be sacrificed. After being picked up, you have to wiggle your to struggle and fill the wiggle meter. I find wiggling left and right work better than rotating the stick. When the meter fills all the way you will break free of the killer's grasp. You will need to do this 10 times. The trophy will pop after the 10th time you break free from the killer. You can unlock this trophy without owning the DLC.

Right away I can confirm the Laurie perk "Decisive Strike" does not contribute to this trophy's progress, despite how it's description is phrased. I used it for upward of 20 escapes and the trophy never popped. Depending on your available perk options, I recommend trying loadouts using Ash's "Flip-Flop", Kate's "Boil Over", Tapp's "Tenacity" and Bill's "Unbreakable" perk. If you have the help of a friend playing along side you, they can use Yui's "Break out" and one or both of you can run Jake's "Saboteur" perk or a Tool Box for hook breaking. By far the most effective combo I've seen is to play cooperatively with a friend and combine Boil over with Breakout. If you plan on incorporating the hook breaking tactic then find maps with abuse-able layouts like these:
  • On the map "Thompson House - Coldwind Farms", make sure the hook didn't spawn on the upstairs balcony of the big Thompson's house. If it did, break it before getting into the chase. You want to make it all the way up here where the generator and item chest always spawn forcing the killer to struggle with getting you back down to ground level before they can even locate a hook. You can burn the offering "Heart Shaped Locket" to drastically increase the chances of playing on a Coldwind Farms map, however Thompson's House is only one possible variant so there's still a measure of RNG here.

  • On the map "Badham Preschool - Springwood" (doesn't matter which variant) make sure the killer basement spawned in the killer shack and not the basement of the preschool. When this happens there's about a 50% chance that a single hook will spawn in the preschool downstairs. If that's the case, break it before getting into the chase and try to go down in one of the narrow hallways down here. The killer will have to carry you up to ground level and then find a hook outside the building. You can burn the offering "The Pied Piper" to greatly raise the chances of playing on this map.

  • On the map "The Game - Gideon's Meat Plant" the hooks are split between the top floor and the bottom floor. It's easier for the killer to drop to the bottom floor carrying a survivor than it is to find stairs to the top floor. For this reason always try to get downed on the bottom floor, preferably far from stairs. Boil Over obscures the auras of nearby hooks so in the various small rooms and corners it easy to make it harder for a killer to find a place to hang you. You can burn the offering "Jigsaw Piece" to greatly raise the chances of playing on this map.

There is an easier way! Saw all the hooks in the corner of the Map and stand in the very corner! The killer won't have time to reach you! 3 rollers and the trophy is ready

To get it, you need to break free from your shoulder 10 times through Wiggle (swinging), a fragment will not help here.
May I help:
1. Ashley's perk - Flip-Flop (Swing) When the killer picks you up in the Near Death state, 50% of your return to your senses is allocated to swinging, up to a maximum of 40%, 45%, 50%, swinging

2. Kate's perk - Boil Over (Over the edge) You swing the Killer 25%, 50%, 75% stronger when you try to escape from his grip. You suppress the Assassin's ability to see hook auras within 10, 12, 14 meters

3. *Only in conjunction with Flip-Flop. William's perk - Unbreakable You can independently rise to your feet from a dying state once per match. Your recovery rate increased by 20%, 30%, 35%
