How to unlock the One Thousand Cuts achievement in Dead by Daylight - Definitive Guide

FYI- maximum laceration counts when the purple bar around the survivor portrait turns from purple to red leaving the survivor one blade away from taking a health state.

This isn't actually that bad as far as killer achievements go, as The Trickster has a lot of add-ons that make this easier to achieve on top of your Main Event ability also able to deal max laceration even if you run out of knives in the middle of chase. Granted relying strictly through main event isn't recommended since getting into a position you can consistently use it is unreliable so it's best to stick to your numbered blades. As I said, there's quite a few add-ons to help with this achievement between making main event last longer, starting with more blades, throwing blades at a faster rate, losing less speed while you're throwing blades, having your blades ricochet, and an item that speeds up locker reloads that also synergizes with the perk Iron Maiden.

There really isn't a bad load out for this but bear in mind if you have a higher MMR the survivors you go up against will be better at looping you so I suggest either bringing the add-ons that help you move faster when throwing blades and maybe the ricochet knives or perks that deny pallets and vaults to survivors such as Bamboozle, Hex: Blood Favor, Hex: Crowd Control (one of The Tricksters actual perks), and both I'm All Ears and Zanshin Tactics as possible back up perks. If you're the type to bring map offerings, definitely pick the more open maps such as Coldwind Farms or Autohave Wreckers for an easier time.

Bear in mind, throwing knives also has its own recoil so you have to adjust for it. The add on that gives you more knives at the start will be a good early option for practicing so you can afford to miss more. The Trickster isn't too radically different from The Huntress, so if you're proficient with her you shouldn't have a hard time picking up Trickster. As you improve it won't be hard to get at least 10+ lacerations per match making this one of the killer achievements with not too high of a time investment.
