Let's get down to the nitty gritty...

Finish the game with four Boss Stem Cells active

How to unlock the Let's get down to the nitty gritty... achievement in Dead Cells - Definitive Guide

4 cell difficulty is sort of easier than 3 cells since almost all enemies teleport right next to you the moment they're aggro'd making them easy to pick off one by one. You'll still die in 2-3 hits and can only gain flask recharges from food shops so beating the game on these difficulties is sort of ridiculous when you have to restart the game every time you die.

The final boss with 4 stem cells in particular is so annoying and difficult, he will likely make your vascular system explode with the might of 1000 suns before you finally beat him

Thankfully there's an exploit that makes doing this, and any other super difficult achievement in this game possible. Playing the game with 4 stem cells is frustrating.

Dead Cells has a sort of quick save/save state system. This is at any time you press cn_guide, the game will save at exactly that point wherever you are. The moment you die, this save feature is disabled so if you press cn_guide, dashboard, and quit the game you will continue off the last time you pressed cn_guide while alive. If you never did, you will restart at the very start of whatever level you made it to. This trick will allow you to retry for the no-hit achievement without having to restart from the beginning of the game.

note: be very careful about pressing cn_guide so you don't create a spot where you are about to be killed. Make sure you are completely dead before dashboarding to avoid doing that.

This is kind of cheating since you'll have infinite continues as long as you don't screw yourself over saving in a bad spot, but good god is this game frustrating as hell with 3 or 4 stem cells active. I managed to get this achievement abusing this exploit, but I was still pulling my hair out most of the way.

There is an added mode called Assist Mode where you can activate infinite lives now. It works the same way as the dashboard trick. You restart at the current floor or where you were when you last exited to the main menu (can be used to create checkpoints essentially) when you die. There are other settings as well that make the game easier and I don't think they disable achievements although I've only tried infinite lives.

Custom mode can also be used to limit the number of items that spawns to help give you builds that you enjoy playing, but you need to have at least 20 items active otherwise achievements are disabled.

To expand on Archer Spense's guide, I highly recommend using the cursed sword. You die in one hit but you die so quickly anyway, it hardly makes a difference. Just be sure to make use of the guide button feature/exploit!

The cursed sword has the highest DPS in the whole game and focusing on upgrading tactics (with no regard for HP) will see it delivering over 100,000 DPS by the time you get to the final boss. If you can match it with some good equipment you can basically one or two shot every enemy in the game, and take a substantial slice of a boss life bar in a single combo. I finished with a sword that does 100% extra damage to poisoned enemies, and also had a charm that creates a toxic cloud when I roll. So I roll past an enemy or boss, poison them, then slash away.

Of course it's down to luck what equipment is available to you and how it they compliment each other, but you at least have a little control at the beginning of the game. Keen on restarting until you get something you like.

This is a great strategy. Worked very well on Hand of the king since you deal so much dps. The charm with the poison roll is huge since you roll a lot in this fight. Particularly through his dash move. This was much more manageable than my 3 cell fight against him, I also had much better gear. The curse sword is also devastating against in-level enemies since they won't even get a chance to attack. I went all in on tactics and used wolf traps, crossbow-matic and my trusty quick bow, all w/ 100% poison dmg. Thanks! +1

Great guide. Helped me finish up my 4BSC run after a nearly two-year hiatus from Dead Cells.

Maybe it's just been too long but I don't remember HotK being so unpleasantly tanky when I last played the game... At the end I was using a Cursed Sword with 120K DPS, +75% damage to rooted, and a backstab modifier. Even when I got him Wolf Trapped I was taking off <10% health with a strong combo string. And the air platform glitch mentioned above (which I recall using in my 3BSC run) seems to have been patched as well.

Oh well, it's done. Thanks again!

I just discovered a further expansion on the dashboard exploit which helped me beat the hand of the King a lot more easily. When I reached him on 4 stem I found i had no time to attack him and my setup was terrible. I basically won the fight from chip damage with the great owl.

What you want to do is jump up to one of the small icicle platforms on either side of the arena, then double jump straight up as soon as you touch the platform as it will break under your feet. In mid air hit the dashboard button and allow yourself to fall into the spikes and die (assuming you have the cursed sword or are one hit from death) then when you reload your save you will be stood on an invisible platform for a few seconds until the ice respawns, try double jumping again and dashboarding or making a mad dash for the platform on the other side.

Basically upon loading you will be stood outside of the hands's attacking range for a few seconds allowing you to do damage with traps or preferably bring a weapon that hits the ground like the firebrands. Every now and then he did throw bombs up that hit me but as long as you have time to get to the other side this fight it winnable with enough save/load exploits.

At this difficulty, in addition to simply enormous damage and HP, enemies have an infection parameter. It is displayed as divisions above the HP scale. Every missed hit and some food increases it. The use of bottles, on the contrary, reduces it. The problem is that potions in the game with 3 cells or more can only be replenished from extremely rare food merchants for a fortune apiece. Therefore, it is better to save them exclusively for bosses, and in the main passage use only tricks with saves; you will die often. Often. Already from the first cell, enemies from the end of the game may well appear at the very beginning. The enemies are very aggressive and fast and there are many of them. If you haven’t made a trophy for the cursed sword and along the way you get it in the legendary version, perhaps this is the best place to use it (with saves, of course), since damage is everything, and you risk missing hits. I also highly recommend that after the second level you go into the depths of the prison, because this will give you an additional level, and therefore many boosts to damage and items. This advice is generally very relevant starting from the 3rd difficulty out of 5.

Found a small glitch on the final boss. You need to stand on a piece of ice on the right, and while disappearing, just jump to exit the game. Upon entering, you will find yourself on an invisible platform until a piece of ice appears, which will immediately disappear, and at this moment you need to jump and exit again. This way you can kill the final boss without taking any damage at all. For easier passage, download turrets or something similar so that you can calmly stand and jump while your turrets kill him. Ps Sometimes this causes the game to crash and saves can crash, so be careful.

At the moment, the passage on this difficulty has changed. Now the infection increases not only when receiving damage from enemies, but also on its own every second, which turns the passage into a kind of speedrun, during which you not only need to run through everything, but also collect strengthening scrolls and weapons, without which you will not have enough damage, which to kill someone. I won’t recommend the assembly with which to complete it, but personally I would not have completed it without a fighting owl. I also got an amulet that gave me invisibility if I didn’t attack for 5 seconds. So I went through it like this, entered a new level, saved, stood for 5 seconds, became invisible and ran through the map, remembering where the scrolls were and the shortest path to the exit. Then he loaded the save and very quickly collected all the scrolls and ran to the exit, killing everyone in his path, be sure to kill as it reduces infection. If you go through the boss Time Keeper, which is very tough and fast on this difficulty, then there is a small trick so that its second stage does not start and there is no way without a fighting owl. At some point, having launched the next save, the boss will begin to endlessly rush from corner to corner until he causes you damage, so at this moment you need to jump onto the wall and hang on it, and the eagle owl will cause damage, as soon as you start to slide, it will jump off the wall and again You hang on it and so on until the boss dies. It takes a long time, of course, but you are guaranteed not to take damage or die, and she kills in two hits. And while you’re hanging on the wall, don’t save any more, but finish off the boss to the end, since saving will interrupt the boss’s run. Well, my game constantly crashed on the last boss about once every 4 saves, so make saves in different slots so as not to fail the passage.

My game broke, and there was no curse at 4 cells. It did not affect receiving the trophy, but 5 cells were not given for access to the last location for the additional boss

At the moment, many tips are not relevant!
1. Signing up during a boss fight is no longer useful - the developers have fixed this and the boss is again with full HP.
2. You can ignore the infection during the passage of “4 cells” - it practically does not affect anything, and the maximum level simply puts debuffs on you that are not particularly important.
3. The most important thing is to take the “toxicomania” aspect and place a necklace with the perk “leaves a poisonous cloud when tumbling” at the beginning of the race through the restart, and the entire race to the final boss turns into an easy walk. You can continue to go to the Observatory, but this aspect blocks the trophy for killing the Collector without damage.

To chop everyone into cabbage, you need Hattori’s Katana, it falls from such crabs with katani, they are found by default in the fishing village, the chance of dropping is 1.3%, but then they can be found on cells in other locations. So that you come across this katana at the merchant and in the initial setups, do not open other recipes, just let the Collector hang them unopened. We also take a ligament cutter and a meat grinder to broadcast bleeding and forge a sword for 60% damage for bleeding Well, then we throw all the svicties into brutality, on 4 cells the last boss probably lay down in 40 seconds, also this setup will allow you to take down any opponents without problems .

Stem cells - difficulty level. As you understand, complete hell will happen on 4 cells.
In the tips above, I wrote down the current builds for you.
