How to unlock the Do you need... A hand?? Bahaha! achievement in Dead Cells - Definitive Guide
----------NOTE:-----------
Be aware this guide was written before a patch was done that changed the game's behaviors. I do not know the full extent of the changes, so I have not updated the guide outside of this note.
changes I do know have happened:
- assist mode no longer disables achievements. this should make getting this and any other no hit achievements much, much easier.
- supposedly the 'save state' system outlined in this guide has changed. I'm not 100% on the changes, but from what I'm told it still sort of works but you can no longer save scum your way to a no-hit victory.
---------------------------------
There's a trick to getting this and any other no-hit boss kill achievement.
Dead Cells has a sort of quick save/save state system. This is at any time you press , the game will save at exactly that point wherever you are. The moment you die, this save feature is disabled so if you press , dashboard, and quit the game you will continue off the last time you pressed while alive. If you never did, you will restart at the very start of whatever level you made it to. This trick will allow you to retry for the no-hit achievement without having to restart from the beginning of the game.
note: if you get hit, you want to be completely DEAD before pressing , or else you will create a save and void the achievement for that run.
2nd note: I'd highly suggest doing this with the I Like to Live Dangerously achievement (beat game with cursed sword).
This no-hit boss achievement is the hardest of the 4. The Hand of the King is very difficult and some of his attacks are very hard to dodge. The best suggestion is to overwhelm him with high offense.
obviously play on easiest difficulty, and at least upgrade the blacksmith's +, and ++ drop chances as high as they can go at least
my recommended loadout:
every single upgrade scroll in the game should be spent on TACTICS (purple lightning bolt)
Weapons:
cursed sword
multiple-nocks bow or explosive crossbow
Traps:
wolf trap
double crossbow-o-matic
Mutations:
ammunition
support
(your choice)
If you're familiar with Hand of the King, you know his fight is broken up into 3 parts. In between these parts, he freezes and summons minions. The moment he gets stunned is a perfect opportunity to press
if you have a decently leveled weapon and a very high tactics level, you can quickly beat Hand of the King down before he can even attack the first 2 phases. You have to be a little more careful on the 3rd since he has enough health he may pull off an attack or 2, and (as you likely know) his reach is insane and he's more prone to using the harder to dodge stuff at that point.

Hi, does it work after the last update?

Hi All. Can confirm this still works as of November 9, 2019. You should wait until your body starts disintegrating before pressing the Guide button to quit the game. Good luck!

Use a arma almadiçoada para pegar 2 ou mais conquistas juntas! Além de que ela da um belo dano

I don’t recommend bothering with it during normal playthroughs, because there is a trophy for beating the game with a cursed sword. This sword has crazy damage, but you die after the first hit. So if you beat the game with this sword, you will get a trophy whether you want it or not. When you open the sword recipe, so as not to turn the trip into hell, study it right before the main boss, then it will be given out immediately and you will only need to kill the boss. You need to level up for brutality, and reforge the sword for maximum damage, since the incoming damage no longer matters, because you won’t survive anyway. The boss itself is incredibly difficult and can take forever to kill without the reload trick. Therefore, at least save after each blow, if it doesn’t work out, or at least after each phase, which here is marked by the appearance of a pack of monsters.

The boss can be easily passed without damage with the wings of a raven.

Very easy to do in a green build with a green cursed sword.
Ice shield + ice grenade + cursed sword open right in front of the boss, save/load just in case. No cells. Mod assist is turned to minimum.
