How to unlock the Serving Up A Beat Down achievement in Dead End Job - Definitive Guide
This can get annoying to unlock. A lot of level runs will be ruined by one bit of damage coming from ghost attacks when there’s that much going on in room it’s hard to see where everything is going, ghosts spawning on top of you for the same reason, slipping on ice into enemies when trying to run around them and a horrible mini-boss that seems to turn up most the time to top it all off.
First off to unlock the Restaurant area you need to earn £250,000 in jobs.
Pick a level from the Restaurant Area, one with only three ghost highlighted for difficulty to make it easier on yourself, and start the level.
The key once the level starts is you only have to find the 2 citizens to save to open the exit. So just run from room to room avoiding ghost until you find the citizen rooms. You will have to clear these room to save the citizens. Be careful when clearing rooms, whilst avoiding damage from ghosts, because exploding cookers and other such stuff in rooms can damage you. Once you have saved both citizens run back to the elevator, it’s marked by an arrow in one of the room boxes on your mini-map in the top right of your screen, avoiding all ghosts. If you’re lucky there will be no mini-boss in the room with the elevator and you can just exit. If you’re unlucky you will get the mini-boss Giant Hatestacks, this ghost is a bitch and is very difficult to beat with no damage. The problem is you have to pick up the item ‘Radioactive Rod’ and use it, then get close to Hatestacks so you can damage him. He will also throw up a smoke cloud which massively limits your view and leaves only a small clear area to fight in with very little room to manoeuvre (there’s a promotion perk that allows you to get rid of enemy smoke that helps if you can get it, make him a bit easier). The other mini- boss ‘Ex-Ghoulfriend’ is easy compared (this is who I got the Achievement on).
Some of the rooms with citizens to save in are tiny and you will have hardly any room to manoeuvre. The second citizen room throws out a lot of ghosts to defeat. Watch out for ice in rooms and sliding into enemies also.
Very occasionally a room will lock you in and will have no choice but to clear it to be able to exit.
You should have numerous upgrades going into these levels to help you get through it.
It only takes about 5 minutes to get through the level avoiding everything and no mini-boss at end, so it’s a quick run.
Be careful when using items you have picked up, a few of them have negative effects and can cause damage to you if not careful.
Good luck with the Achievement.
