Rip 'n' Tear

Rip 'n' Tear

Slay 5 zombies with a supercharged Ripper, and bisect 5 more with a Sawblade Launcher

0.8%

How to unlock the Rip 'n' Tear achievement in Dead Island 2 - Definitive Guide

Ripper
-Buy it from the vending machine in the basement of the safehouse where you meet Grace in Sola. Cost: $34,125
-Rev it up by smacking zombies (heavy attacks charge it faster). When it's spinning at max, slay 5 zombies with it. Doesn't need to be done during the same supercharged time. Takes 10 hits to charge it.
- "There is a circle with small lights on the ripper that light up as you hit zombies, all 10 light up when it's fully charged." -from user Mr SpinelesS
-If these kills aren't registering then charge it to max, then perfect time block and press X to kill zombies with Counter 5 times.

Sawblade Launcher
-Talk to Grace at the safe house after completing the DLC main questline to obtain it.
-Bisecting a zombie means to cut it in half at the torso. Lower a zombie's health with a melee weapon then get the last shot a little above waist level with the S Launcher. They won't always cut in half so you'll probably have to kill more than 5.
-You can also try charging it with 3 blades and aiming at their midriff. This seems to have worked pretty well for some people.
-You can buy the blueprint for the sawblade launcher ammo at the vending machine in Grace's safe house when you run out of ammo.

Perfect tip from @TymanTheLong.

Hold until 3 discs load, aim at stomach - works pretty much every time.

For anyone wondering as I was, there is no achievement tracking on this one. You don't get 10% progress per kill, or 50% progress when one weapon is complete. It just pops once you've done all of it.

But the ripper is an amazing weapon for the entire dlc except for the Dirge as he's immune. Just use it the entire time, repairing as needed, and you're all but guaranteed to have gotten your 5 kills while fully charged. Then when you're done the DLC you can explore with the Launcher and it'll pop after the 5 bisections.

Aaruni, I added a point to my solution about that. There's not an indicator, you just won't hear it getting any louder/faster. Doesn't take very long.

If you run out of ammo for the sawblade launcher kills you can buy the blueprint for the ammo at the vending machine.

Just a heads up: If you block/dodge to stun a zombie and counter them it charges the ripper as well. When the ripper is fully charged the counter changes and you ram the spinning blade into your enemies neck.

Also, there is a circle with small lights on the ripper that light up as you hit zombies, all 10 light up when it's fully charged.

Press and hold RT, she,ll spin up, you'll see all 3 blades load when she is ready. Aim at a zombie midriff, stomach, when I aimed at what I felt was waist I tended to take off a leg only, so I aimed a lil higher.

Thanks for the input on charging Mr SpinelesS. I've added that to the solution and credited you.

Sorry Old Snake, I'm not sure why it won't let you equip it. Maybe try resetting and trying again. Or selling that one and buying a different one.

To be clear to get a Sawblade Launcher bisection, aim at the zombie’s solar plexus (midway between the nipples and the belly button if you don’t know what that is). Once I figured out that was the spot I got one almost every time.

Got all my bisections with the sawblade launcher by charging up (holding down the trigger) when I had a full clip. It shoots all 3 blades at once and 1 shots the weaker zombies.

That's true Mr SpinelesS, but I was trying to get all the bisecting kills without having to fabricate more ammo and I was worried I would run out by using 3 at a time. But whatever works for you.

The Ripper Legendary Weapon can be purchased for $34,125 from the vending machine in Grace's basement. But, the Sawblade Launcher is only awarded to you for completing the DLC story.

With both weapons, head to an area with lots of zombies, like the Main Stage and start swinging with the Ripper. You need 10 hits, counters, attacks, etc in quick succession to supercharge the ripper. You will notice sparks flying from it when supercharged. Now kill 5 zombies with the supercharged Ripper.

Then switch to the Sawblade Launcher and instead of rapid firing, hold cn_RT until the reticle becomes a large circle. Aim at a ziombie's midsection and shoot to cut it in half. Do this 5 times!

The Ripper can be purchased from the vending machine from Grace. You need to hit with a powerful attack and a sparkling weapon. The Ripper begins to sparkle after killing a zombie with it.
The saw gun is awarded after completing the DLC. Zombies are cut down by a charged shot and if you shoot in the torso.

Can be performed on any map, i.e. not only in addition
If you already have everything (saw gun and ripper), then you can safely start knocking out the trophy. You can knock it out not only in the DLS, but also on any other map.
First, we take the Ripper, kill 4-5 zombies, this should be enough for the Ripper to be fully charged, then we wait for the zombie to hit you, press a counterattack and finish off the zombies with the Ripper’s special attack.
Repeat this 5 times.
Then you take out the Saw Gun and kill 5 ordinary zombies and the trophy is yours.
For those who don’t understand, here’s a guide:

https://youtube.com/shorts/GRBzCM7-S...9Sspkc2qPrOPDc

The main thing is to keep the maximum charge of the Ripper

Clarification for the saw gun: in order for it to cut zombies, you need to hold it down and hold it until the disk spins, and then shoot in the body.

So it’s all over again, otherwise nothing is clear.
We take a club with a saw and charge it with short, weak blows until all the dots on it light up. and when the saw is charged, we kill the zombies with a strong attack while holding R2. 5 zombies with a strong attack with a charged saw.
then we switch to saw meth and kill the zombies with a strong attack while holding R2. so that you can fire a strong attack every time after one shot, reload the saw and you can again fire a strong attack from the first shot.
