How to unlock the Whatever It Takes achievement in Dead Island 2 - Definitive Guide
This achievement had the wrong name when it popped for me. It's called "Whatever It Takes" for completing the rites of passage.
Here is a guide for them. It's pretty much the first main objective in the DLC.

I'm actually having issues completing this Achievement. Despite having completed the rituals on two separate Slayers (Dani and Carla), it didn't pop for me. I wonder if I need to start a new character and then begin the DLC for it register.

Automatic story trophy. It opens shortly before the end of the main mission "The Invitation".
During the main mission, you will need to complete 3 Rites of Passage to continue the story. Each of the Rites of Passage is located inside one of the suburban houses, with the exception of the second house on the right, which only has loot inside.
First Rite of Passage: As soon as you enter the suburban area, enter the first house on the right and go up to the second floor. Enter the closet (second door on the right) and take the Valve Wheel from the shelf. Exit the closet and go through the door on your right to go up to the attic and place the valve wheel on the gas pipe valve in the center of the room. Once you activate it, equip and hold any weapons you don't need and interact with the furnace in the center of the room to burn it down and complete the first Rite of Passage.
Second Rite of Passage: From the entrance to the suburban area, enter the second house on the left and go up to the attic. There will be a broken electrical cord on the ground in the attic. You will need to use a chemical bomb or a nearby canister of water to apply electrical current to the broken cord. After that, go down to the basement. Once in the basement, jump into the blood-filled pool as soon as the game tells you to, and stay there until your objective is completed. You can die here if you don't have any health kits to heal you or don't have enough health to begin with, but you will complete the second Rite of Passage.
Third Rite of Passage: In the same area where you completed the second Rite of Passage, a door will open leading to the next house through a system of vents. Once you are in the next house and have cleared out the zombies, go up to the attic and there will be a microphone in the center of the room. Once the game prompts you to confess, go to the microphone to confess your sins and complete the third Rite of Passage.
