How to unlock the Humanity Distilled achievement in Dead Island 2 - Definitive Guide

You earn your first Numen card after completing "The Search for Truth" as part of the main story quest line. The Numen card is automatically applied and should pop the achievement shortly after the mission.

The solution for those who did not have an achievement popped up. Join the random online game, remove the numen cards and put them back. Worked for me.

This bugged for me and nothing is working to fix it.
Edit: Not even doing the remove and add cards on random game or doing the mission again with a parter unlocked, the only solution left is rushing through the game again with another character.

Joining random lobby, pausing, unequipping 1 card, unpausing, pausing, equipping 1 card, unpausing - worked for me

Change the game language to english. Join the random team. and unequip the numen cards，quit the pause menu. equip them. it pops.

Mine popped right now in single player when changed the language to english, unequipped both cards and equiped the first one back! I guess it's not tied to online lobby this workaround.

Apparently this is still bugged. I've tried logging in on a second console, and I've tried joining online games. Still won't pop for me.

It seems as if a recent patch has fixed my problem. Not sure if anyone else was seeing an issue with this not popping, and joining an online game DIDN'T work... but just this morning, I fired up the game (after like 2 months), went into single player, and removed/re-added the Numen skills. Popped instantly.

I found out why it wasn't unlocking guys. If you're not unlocking the achievement, do all the other achievements or unlock the missing cards and do the step by step below:

Enter a co-op game, pause and remove cards, pause again and equip 1 card and the achievement will unlock. It worked for me the way I explained.

Story related. After completing the ‘The Search for Truth’ mission, you’ll discover your true nature and unlock Numen skill cards. You can’t miss this, so don’t worry!

The trophy is glitchy and may not drop. The solution is simple: go to a random online session, remove and re-install the numena card. After this, the trophy will immediately appear.

It didn't work for me this way. It fell out when I removed the cards, went to the randoms and placed a second card, because the first one was already by default

the trophy is still buggy, it can be cured by going to random players (even if there is only one card, go in, remove it and put the card in again), but be careful, you can be thrown much further into the plot and this progress will remain in you alone, so it’s better to leave this trophy at the end.

07/20/23 trophy still glitchy
Dropped in a random online session after replacing the numen card in the slot
Before that, we tried it with a friend in our session (open/closed) - it didn’t work out there
Conclusion: let’s connect to a random

Connecting to randoms did not help. I found advice to change the language to English. I went to the menu, changed the language, and launched an open session. I removed the Numen card, exited the pause (save), went into the skills and put it back, exited the pause and received a trophy.
