How to unlock the Survival Skills achievement in Dead Island 2 - Definitive Guide
For most of the challenges, you will get them done by the time you finish the main story as they are the main things you do in the game (looting, using medkits, etc). As for Hollywood Rich List, you need to have gotten a total of 1 million dollars in your lifetime. The best way to do this is to sell every weapon you come across that you don't plan on using, but make sure to scrap 10 weapons first so you can get the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle challenge done too. Also, use the Unclaimed Property menu in your stash to get some extra loot that you can sell, but this challenge will be done pretty quickly once you reach max level as weapons usually sell for around $6000.
For Revival Act, you just need to revive someone 1 time, so you can ask a friend to join for it, or try some lfg sites for it. It is a shame that you have to play with someone to get this challenge, but it shouldn't be too hard since the game just came out.
Mod Maker and The Perks of Being A Zombie Slayer challenges can be a little confusing at first, but it's pretty simple. A Mod is something that changes the damage type of your weapons, like fire or shock. A Perk just gives the weapon an extra buff, like faster attack speed or more durability. From my understanding, you just need to make these 5 times, and it can be the same one, but do try out different things to see what works.
Repo Man requires you to get 50 zombie parts, which requires you to reach Venice Beach and complete part of The Giant-Slayer story quest. Spoiler for this next part:
Other than those 3 challenges, the rest are super easy and honestly could be done way before you even reach Venice Beach

Do you need to have the 1 million on you at once? Or is it cumulative?

No, you don't need 1 million on you at once. It's cumulative.

The Survival Challenges in Dead Island 2 aren't actually too bad, if you're a bit of a hunter-gatherer like us. There are only 10, and with a little bit of scavenging, you'll rattle through these in no time. To check the list of all 10 Survivor Challenges and to see your progress, hit the and go down to Challenges > Survivor Challenges.
For these challenges you'll need to fabricate weapons, scrap weapons, use med kits, revive co-op allies, collect zombie parts, collect resources and loot containers. All these challenges are super simple and relatively straightforward, and you should get these with relative ease as you battle through Hell-A.
The one that might take a little bit of management and thought is the ‘Hollywood Rich List’ challenge, which requires you "amass $1,000,000 cash." First things first, this is a cumulative challenge, so don't be afraid to spend your cash as you get it. The strategy is basically: pick up every weapon you can, sell them to traders; and sell excess resources. For a more in-depth strategy on how to make money in Dead Island 2, check out our guide.
Complete the first tier of all 10 Survivor Challenges and the trophy is yours.

The trophy is partially an online trophy, as the first level of the "Revive Another Fighter" challenge cannot be completed offline. And without this you won’t get the trophy.

There is a cumulative test for 1,000,000 money (you can spend it)
I recommend that after the first quarter of the game, when enough resources have already been accumulated, you start selling weapons rather than dismantling them. I just had enough to accumulate a million by the end of the game, otherwise I would have had to farm more
