How to unlock the The Hurt Mine Locker achievement in Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition - Definitive Guide

The way I did it was very simple. You can do it as early as chapter 2 or as late as chapter 12. All you need to do it bring a few mines to a deadzone area Easiest one is the one nearest paradise camp and kill of the deadzone boss. after that when you have a full rage bar run back in, and gather everyone near the fences and kill them all. Kick their bodies together, then ram open a side door and bring a zombie in. when they follow you, you must place a mine in the dead bodies and run to the other side and let them step on it. If you accumulated enough dead bodies, the achievement will unlock.

I did it in one of the 2 dead zone behind the cinema in Henderson. I threw a couple of molotov in the group that was there, finished off a few, gathered the bodies put a mine in the pile then attracted one zombie that was in a side section and voilà! achievement done. I did blew myself up in the process but what can you do...

This solution still works, I did it in a dead zone in the City.
Also, my coop partner unlocked the achievement when the mine detonated, they had killed a few of the bodies, but only I placed the mine

In Henderson City, there is a flooded town square that you need to pass eventually, with dozens of floating zombies in it. When you pass them about 6-8 of them will wake up and attack you, but there are many others that will stay dead. Well, all of those count for this achievement. Simply throw a mine into the flooded area and the achievement will pop. No need to pile up zombies first, there are enough lying around.

^ tried multiple times to get the flooded city square suggestion to work and it wouldn't. Fyi to anyone else reading this.

The flooded area worked first time for me - thanks. It’s the bit below the cinema.

I just killed 10 zombies, kicked them together into a small pile, planted a mine in the centre of the pile, and the mine went off - Achievement unlocked

Blowing up a pile of bodies worked for me as well, during the "Evacuation" mission I think it is - the horde defense mission on the roof of the cinema. I camped out on the platform with the minigun and picked off anyone who gathered below me (plus Sam & John were staying nearby and helping to add to the pile). Once there was a calm period where there were only one or two zombies left in the wave that were off bothering a different pair, I went to my body pile, set a mine down, accidentally blew myself up, but it popped the achievement nonetheless.

Awesome guide Dragon! I didn't bother with this until i reached Henderson. But, it was so easy in Dr. J J Evan's clinic Dead Zone. The very first room has a long hallway, with 6-7 zombies and only 1 is infected. There's one doorway to the next room, so i opened it, let a few in and closed it. Piled them all up by the double doors, dropped a mine in the middle, then let in one more knucklehead. Super quick+simple! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

This is my 101 solution and the first one that I write after a long time...

I tried to unlock this in different parts of the game playing solo, but gathering around 10 zombies isn't as easy as in the first game and when I finally managed to do so they wouldn't die all 10 from the blast. So, the solution above helped me figuring out what to do, but hopefully I can be better at explaining it.

During chapter 12, in the city of Henderson, following the Main Questline, you'll get access to a previously locked area in that city. In front of its entrance there's a "bulldozer" (a yellow tractor). BEFORE using the tractor to blow up the gate, kill the enemies outside the gate so you won't be unexpectedly bothered. Then, with a gun of your preference (I did it with the sidegun/pistol, but the sniper or a 1 shot rifle could work too) approach the gate by the left or the right side to cluster the enemies and start doing headshots at them. That will attract more zombies from inside the gate, but none of them can reach you to hurt you.

Kill all of them except for 1 by the gate. Then, drop an explosive mine as close as this enemy and the gate as possible. Run away. The achievement should unlock like it did for me. IF you mess up, go to the menu, press Y to quit the game and then reload it again.

In other words, although the description says to kill 10 monsters with one mine, you only really need 1 of them dying and 9 other corpses blowing up during the blast. I guess the lesson here is that a zombie is never truly dead unless if blown to pieces.

If this method works for you as well, leave this solution a thumbs up to let me know. Thanks!

Following on from the other guides, and using the same method a place I found is in the side missing the dead can't dance in Henderson. Once you enter the cafe to turn the music off an alarm will start. Stand in the doorway and the infected constantly spawn you can easily like up bodies here and then set a mine for the achievement, before going and turning the alarm off.

Chapter 10: "The Fugitive".
When we lead the monsters away from the roof to the stage, after putting on the music, there will be a fountain opposite, we jump into it, the monsters won’t get you from there. We take a pistol and shoot (IMPORTANT! NOT at the head or limbs), fill a larger pile (if you run out of cartridges, kick them, it will also be enough if you stand close to the side). we jump out, at least 1 zombie runs up, throw a mine sharply and jump away. Achiva is yours.
