How to unlock the Anybody, Anytime, Anywhere achievement in Dead or Alive 5 - Definitive Guide

This achievement has confused many players so I will try to describe it as easy and clear as I can.

First: You can only get this achievement via Throwdown challenges (no normal game invites). This requires an Online Pass in order to use the online mode.

Second: You must turn on the Throwdown option when you are playing the single player mode (arcade, time attack ect.). This can be done by pressing X before choosing the Single/Tag option. You DON´T have to win these challenges.

Third: You can get this achievement even when you got 50 invites from the same person. You DON´T have to accept 50 different throwdown challenges.

Make sure you played one of your friends in a lobby match first and add each other to your Fighter Lists (this can be done while being at the lobby screen by pressing Y and then selecting the option to add players to your list).

If you are going for the achievement, select Training Mode and choose whatever character/stage you like (I did this while playing the Command challenges). Then let your friend/partner select Online Mode -> Fighter List. They should mark your name and press A in order to send you a Throwdown challenge. This will take some tries since the Onlne mode itself and the throwdown system seem to be quite weird/unfinished.

If your partner shouldn´t be able to send you a challenge, tell them to update your gamertag on their Fighter List. This is done by selecting the specific gamertag and then pressing RB. After about 5-10 tries it should work. Right at THIS moment you should be paying attenton to your bottom right corner of the screen. A small red-black icon should appear. You must press the BACK button right at this point in order to accept the challenge.

I got the achievement together with my partner today after about 4 hours while we only needed around 1,5 hours for myself since there were less players online in the later hours (around 8 pm in Europe). I can confirm that this method works. But beware that your partner will have to send you around 10+ challenges at some times because the mechanic doesn´t seem to work so well. You can always check your current progress by looking at your Fighter List since only throwdown matches will be listed there.

Hopefully this solution may helped you out a bit. If you are having any troubles or questions, feel free to ask. Many thanks for reading and good luck!

I didn't know about updating the GT if you run into trouble. My partner and I each sent five invites to each other and then couldn't get it to work.

Sometimes you have to quit the fighters list and re-enter it again in order for the GT update to work. It may take a few tries to update the specific gamertag. Altough it should work a lot better and faster after the patch.

To clear up how many times you get an invite and when accepting it says "the other player currently cannot fight", that other random player didn't invite you, the game itself sends out random invites to 2 players and will match a fight when you both accept. :)

Do you actually have to play all 50 invites or will just the invites pop the achievement?

I haven't tested if the Invites are enough but I played it safe and finished all matches. It shouldn't take too long either. You can always go for titles while doing the Throwdowns (use and win with each character, cliffhanger ect.).

If you're doing it from the fighter list, have the one in training put the throw downs to simple match.

Maybe this tip will help someone trying to complete this game in the future, I wasted a lot of time until I noticed that the Grade/Level made a difference in the connection.
This achievement consists of accepting a challenge invitation through the game system, an envelope appears on the screen when you are in Arcade, Versus or Training modes, you must then press the Back button on the controller twice to accept it, it is similar to New Challenger from Street Fighter. To make the achievement is simple, we need at least two people, the one who will receive the invitation goes to the training mode, while the other must try to send the invitation through the List of Fighters, or by searching in Ranked, who is training of course must leave the option to receive Throwdown active. Inviting through the list is more difficult, it requires patience, the game constantly shows the message that the other player is not available to fight, you must then update the list and try again several times, update and try again and so on, another way is to look for Ranked mode, most of the fights I did this way, I went to training mode and my boost friend went to Serching in Ranked mode, it was much easier than the Fighters List. Another detail, when my Ranking/Grade got higher the game stopped connecting us, we lost a lot of time trying to understand why we could no longer receive and send invitations to each other, I was Grade C and they were Grade F, when we entered the Ranked and matched in Grade D Throwdown is working again, so make sure you are at the same Level/Grade. Players with very different Grids level like S+ and/or F apparently have difficulty connecting in modes other than Looby.
And yes it is absurd, but this game still requires the purchase of an Online pass to play.

For this trophy you must fight 50 opponents through online Throwdown Challenges, whenever you enter Arcade Mode or Training Mode there will be an option to turn on the Throwdown Challenges. If you’re familiar to Super Street Fighter IV’s Fight Request system for its respective trophy its basically the same thing where you can be challenged to online matches via Simple Match while you are playing Arcade and Training. After playing through 50 of these the trophy should unlock.
