How to unlock the Zombie Hunter achievement in DEAD RISING 2: CASE WEST - Definitive Guide
Go to the second floor of the security tower in the holding pens. Kill all the security guards around and then go into the security tower and there you will find an ulimited supply of hand grenades on the shelf on one side of the room (one side of the room has only a few grenades on the shelf) that you can just throw all around the room below to get the 1000 kills. If you toss the grenade down to where the zombies are gathered in the holding pins you should get quite a few at a time.
If you lay all your weapons down in the tower on the floor you can then fill all your slots with grenades and just run around the outside of the tower on the walkway tossing them down and then come back in and refill the slots over and over again until you get the achievement.
You should only do this to get the achievement and not try for the case files at this time. After you get the achievement just restart story so you will have enough time to finish the case files.
Hope this helps someone!

I actually did a combination of using the golf carts (one is parked next to the shipping office, the other is parked in the next room), hail mary (football + grenades) both parts are in the first maintenance room), and the zap and shine (floor buffer + shock baton) one is near the 2nd maintenance room by the holding pens plus one zombie is pushing one under the sec towers.
What I did was before you even got your first case, make sure you kill more zombies than frank when the game first starts. I got 60 kills right off the bat. Then I killed the guard, picked up the heavy wrench and made a hail mary before I went into the shipping office. once the first case started, I jumped down from the shipping office went back into the maintenance room made another hail mary. I also picked up another heavy wrench. (the wrenches are one or two hit kills on both the security guards and zombie handlers) I killed a couple of handlers to pick up their shock batons. I ran over to the first golf cart. I used that to run over as many zombies in the first room and went into the second room where there is a second cart. I got into that one and drove that around the area below the security tower. once that cart was destroyed I threw my hail mary at the big swarm of zombies in front of the harvesting room garage door. I threw another at another big crowd in the holding pen next to that. in that area you should have ran over the zombie pushing the floor buffer. push that floor buffer into zombies towards the maintenance room to make a zap and shine. Push it back to under the tower. and just run around. You can get about 100 zombies before it breaks. you can ever push the big trash bin around to kill mor zombie. now run back with your other shock baton and there is another floor buffer by the maintenance room. make another one and kill another 100 zombies. now you can either run back to the shipping office or the harvester room to reset everything. rinse and repeat.
I tried the grenade trick in the tower, but i was wasting too much time trying to kill all the guards. and when i did pick up grenades it only killed 10 at a time.
My method allows you to be constantly moving, and you only have to take out one guard which you can run over with the golf cart. and the zombie handler are weak against the heavy wrench.

Zombie Handlers & Security guards are both 1 hit kills if you use the RT+B move them into a wall. Not sure why you'd bother with a wrench.

I wanted to ask if the 1000 kills have to be done in a single playthrough, or is it cumulative over multiple playthroughs, but I see that it states that in the original achievement description. I guess the description changes after the achievement is won.

If you make a laser gun you can run in and out of the harvesting room, shoot one shot into the furnace area where the zombies are horded together, run down the walkway to the holding pens to leave the area and come back in to reload the zombies, rinse and repeat whenever you have extra time in the game.
You can make a new laser gun if you take the entrance to the underground walkway from the furnace area. The gun is in the hallway just past the Maintence Room behind a box, the flashlight on the floor in front of the MR and the gems and electric prod are inside the MR.

Start up a new story. This achievement is very doable at level 40 but a higher level helps.
After you have finished the prologue and received the map, head out of the shipping office and make your way up to the Security Room (second floor, dead center of Holding Pens). Grab as many grenades as possible. The grenades are found on the wall of the Security Room and are infinite in quantity.
Since the holding pens will have limited zombies at the beginning of the campaign, a good strategy is to take said grenades and head to the Harvesting Room (East on map). The incinerator (at end of conveyor belt) will yield around 25 kills every time you toss a 'nade down there. Be sure to grab the sickle at the edge of the incinerator. Walking back to the Holding Pens' door could net you another 15+ kills by simply using a wasp and the sickle.
Head out the door to the Holding Pen's then head right back into Harvesting Room for an incinerator full of fresh zombies; rinse and repeat. You will eventually have to refill on grenades which is a good time to save your progress.
I found the lead pipe to be the quickest way to deal with the annoying security guards.
Duration using this method; 35 minutes
Good luck!

If you like getting your hands dirty while killing the undead, this is probably the guide for you.
The first thing to do is to get the magazine for extra edged weapon durability. To find it, take the catwalk door out of the shipping office and head into the storage bay (the next room). Take the right hand path. When you make the left turn at the end of that little section, you'll see some gray crates ahead of you. Jump on top of the one in the corner, and from there onto the orange i-beam. Once on the i-beam, you'll want to get to the back right corner of the room. There you will find the magazine. Read it and your edged weapons will last 3 times as long. As an added bonus, the storage shelf nearest you has 2 sickles on top. Simply walk over on the i-beam, fall down, and you have your first two implements of destruction!
The next step: go nuts on the undead. Here's the path I took: right after you get the magazine and the sickles, hop down from the shelf and go down the hallway with the holding rooms on either side (still in the storage bay). There is a sickle on the ground in this area. Pick it up while mercilessly slaughtering some zombies. Next, go through the middle holding room on the right into the holding pens. Make your way over to the harvesting room (through the half open garage door). There, go down the hallway and down into the little pit at the end. There are about 30 undead down there, as well as a sickle. Next, make your way through the gas control section, through the cafeteria, and into the living quarters. Climb up to the catwalk and go through the door back to the holding pens. Hop down off the catwalk and make your way back over to the harvesting room. Repeat as needed. I think it took about 5 circuits to get all of the kills. To summarize the path: holding pens to harvesting room, harvesting room to gas control, gas control to cafeteria, cafeteria to living quarters, living quarters back to holding pens. When in doubt, use the map.
A few more things:
-It's good to have some food on you just in case (general advice). Even if you have only a couple of health bars gone, I recommend picking up some orange juice from the cafeteria.
-Stay on the ground as much as possible. There are more undead down there and fewer people with guns (though you will get shot in the holding pens).
-There are 2 places on my path for extra weapons. 1) In the pit in the harvesting room there is a sickle, as well as on the conveyer belt above. 2) The maintenance room in the living quarters has a sickle and a kitana. You'll likely end up with more weapons than you went in with.
-I started a new game at level 50. From starting the story to getting this achievement took me about 40 minutes (I finished it at about 1 AM on the game clock). Your mileage may vary.
Have fun!
