DEAD RISING 2: CASE ZERO

To get this achievement travelling to the casino and smashing the slot machines is pretty effective, however I would advise using the machines that have cash infront of them on the floor a few times first as with each quick attempt you will make a profit of $200. You can also smash the two ATM's within the casino for additional cash.

Also, if you have not done so I would advise rescuing the couple in the bar, they reward you with $15,000 for rescuing them, if you leave the safe room and enter again to talk to Gemini in the scrap yard she will give you the oppurtunity to earn yet another $15,000 for retrieving her gems, this merely takes a quick dash to the roadblock (next to quarantine zone) and you will find them on the floor next to a car. Equip them and hand them to her to get your reward.

This achievement can be done over multiple playthroughs (your total cash spent does not get reset) so dont worry if you cant get it done in one.

I believe it also counts cash spent at other venues such as slot machines.

As BloodwCinnamon posted one possible way to get this achievement is to hit up the casino. You can smash the slot machines and ATMs, obtain the money and then head back to the safe room to respawn everything. One tip that worked well for me is to use the moose head while doing it.

You can use the moose head charge to get from the safe room to the casino MUCH quicker than just walking and using the moose head charge attack is also a much faster way of destroying the slot machines as opposed to using a melee weapon. Doing this snagged me the achievement rather quickly and got me around $8,000 per run to the casino.

The moose head can be purchased at the pawn shop or can be found mounted on the wall of the hunting shop.

Head into the casino, smash all the machines, collect all the money, head back to the junk yard and then return back to the casino. Wash, rinse, repeat until you collect $100,000. From there head over to the Pawn Shop and buy everything. I believe you can purchase multiples of nearly everything. Just keep spending until the achievement unlocks.

You'll probably have to devote the majority of a playthrough for this achievement.

This was quite simple. Instead of going around from store to store opening cash register and the likes...All you have to do is:

1) Help Dick open the pawnshop ( Hes the old man standing on the white van just outside the safe room ).

2) Go to the casino straight across from the pawnshop.

3) Smash all the slot machines Including the A.T.M machines. ( You will get approx $7500 doing so).

4) Go back to the safe room. Enter then exit the safe room. The slot machines and the A.T.M will have reset and follow step 3 untill you have $100,000 ( Remember every time you bash the slots to enter then exit the safe room to reset them )

This is an easy achievement to get but a little time consuming.


First start up a playthrough create the nail bat and leave the safehouse run down the street enter the casino on the left you'll run through cash on the path enter the casino smash up the slot machines and atm machines leave the casino follow the road smash the cafe window climb through and again smash the machines and registar leave through the window you entered...cross the street and enter the bowling alley smash the registars up on the right and run toward the end for the atm machine then the snack machines next to the door then leave.
Across the road is the theatre enter through the front doors and smash the 2 slot machines and the 2 cash registars then leave head forward and to the right into the department store go right to get the cash registar and then forward to get the slot machines...

By now you will have at least made 15k

Go through the doors next to the machines and save..once saved pause and select quit then select restart story and rinse and repeat what you did to get to that point.

When you finally have 100k while in the current playthrough go to the quarantine and get the bike return to the safehouse with it then leave rescue Dick on the van follow him back to his Pawn Shop and spend that cash.

Dont forget everytime you make a cash run which probably takes 5-10 minutes each time save then quit...DONT FORGET TO SAVE or you'll lose all the cash you just picked up.
Everytime you restart the story you keep your cash from the previous game.

**Also you can collect Geminis gems by the yellow car near the quarantine area to get some more cash but this will mean you have to first save her**

Even though this achievement says you need to spend the money in the pawnshop mine actually triggered in one of the casinos. I had spent roughly $98,500 in the pawnshop. I went to one of the casinos to pick up more money and began to play the slot machnes to generate more money. I must have spent approximately $1,600 because on one of the slot machine pulls my achievement triggered. It did not trigger in the pawnshop and I know I did not spend $100,000 in the pawnshop. Hope this helps.

This one method has been posted but this shows how to speed up time. Just wear a moose head and charge, try an avoid hitting anything. This will save A LOT of time, I can assure you.

I got mine using this.

This SHOULD unlock after 4 playthroughs if you do the below:

Save Gemini, She's in the bar, and doesn't need much persuasion to join, she'll give you a cool 15 grand.

At some point, you'll be told there are chicks in a bowling alley, they'll tell you their friend is at the quarantine post, go get her, on your way in, grab Gemini's jewels from her car, give the chick your zombrex, and rescue her and her friends if you feel so inclined.

Back to Gemini, she'll give you another 15 grand for her jewels, you now have 30 grand, so blow it on zombrex for your daughter.

not an overly difficult achievement, just long.

*********Do all this in the first case before heading to the quarantine zone*********
Once the first cut scene ends make the spiked bat at the maintenance table for security. Leave the safe house work your way from the street to the dirty drink bar smash the cash register $300 (cash registers yield between $300-$500 for the purpose of this guide I will use the $300 dollar band as this is the most common)
Total So Far: $300

Move to the department store smash the register for again $300 in here there are 3 slot machines yielding $300 each as well as $200 on floor next to machine
Total So Far: $1700

Next head to the movie theatre to find 2 cash register containing $300 as well as 8 slot machines yielding $300 and $400 on the floor
Total So Far $5100

Next head to the diner smash cash register for $400 (always $400 not sure if this is the same for everyone but has always been $400 for me) 3 slot machines Yielding $300 each and $200 on floor Total So Far $6600

Next head over to the bowling alley smash 2 cash registers for $300 each then smash the 3 vending machines for an addition $100 each and finally smash the ATM for $500
Total So Far $8000

Last stop the casino first outside by the bench is $200. Inside the casino $900 be found on the floor and in the back room (with the bars) is a cash register with $400 in it (again like the cash register in the diner this one always has $400 but can only speak for myself) the 2 ATMs contain $500 each and with a staggering 18 slot machines yielding $300 each
Overall Total $15900 Per Run

So with this method after 7-8 runs you should have $100,000+
Now I would suggest getting killed and restarting story as your money will carry over and this method is a little time consuming. Since you have the $100,000 stacked progress through the cases till you can save the survivors
Save Dick the pawnbroker who is located on the white van outside the safe house. Escort him safely to the pawnshop then spend all money inside till you get the achievement
